The auto attack is simply a background as you progress you'll be spamming several action bars worth of skills & even have talents to reduce cooldown timer. The game is amazing and I'm only in mid 20's so far but am very excited for the direction of this game.
Its comical because Tibia is still alive and this game caters purely towards that audience. The scope of Tibia is tens of thousands so this game's reach is just that, not mainstream where it's currently spilling. As a long time on/off Tibia player this game is exactly what I was waiting for, which is just Tibia core with way more systems at play. Any Tibia player likes these systems which you complain about, we learned to maneuver in this top down style, how it works and how to use it to your advantage. The grind is intentional as Tibia players have thousands of hours sinked, even tens of thousands, just the systems were scarce and this finally fixes it, a breath of fresh air for this niche genre
This game looks awesome to me. This game seems to be for Old School mmo players. UO, OSRS, Classic WoW, SWG ect. The camera angle at first seemed off putting to me but the more this video went on the less it started to bother me. 100% trying this out.
Its just a crafting simulator. If you like hitting F key and watching a lot of TV, this game is for you. If you want to feel the anxiety trying to purchase a home in 2024, this game is for you because all the houses are already gone and players are marking them up hundreds of %, probably thousands in a week. They said they would fix that as many people with homes are rapidly increasing their professions at a much faster pace than those without because a lot amount of experience is tied to building / growing on your property.
like every other one of these mmorpgmaker clones it gonna die in a month i will give it credit tho its very polished and makes me wanna play but its too jank, exactly the same jank they all have and they probably dont know how to actually fix that cuz its like releasing a game made with Multimedia Fusion 2
They do need to add additional markers - those of use who came from tibia LOVE the system, as tibia has near zero map markers. In Ravendawn the marker shows you the NPC. Its up to you to explore how to get there. In Kruggs case you spend an hour bashing your head to simply walk south to find the stairs leading up to castle walls & its an AH HA! moment that really sets the pace for the future puzzles in the game
I wonder how many players are deterred from the game because of the camera angle. It seems like a huge blocker for peoples' enjoyment of the game cause you either love it or feel your brain dismantle in real time because of it. It's too much, even for an art niche attempting to target specific audiences. It's simply too niche, too specific in the seemingly few players who would enjoy rather than hate it. I've watched about 5 minutes of Ravendawn gameplay and the entire time I've grown increasingly dizzy and nauseous because of the camera. The only relief has been the world map, which is admittedly very nice. Ravendawn seems to have a bunch of systems and things that work well, and would normally make for a pretty good game, so I hope they focus on offering a change in camera angle as soon as possible. I just can't imagine them succeeding with it being this outrageously horrible. It's almost offensive that they would make such a good product and then ruin it, in an attempt to further limit their target audience.
can we just agree that the camera angle is trash? i don't even mind the goofy graphics, but who the hell would think that angle is good. why make the game worse on purpose?
@@koreanzombie6697 no.. simply because i've seen wayyy wayyyy worse.. I'd rather have this view, than a view that glitches inside or through an object anytime you turn near a wall.. It's not that bad is what I'm getting at. Ultima series is the same view.. is it good? no, but is it trash? no..
The game looks REALLY stupid from the perspective. Like, not stupid in a design choice way, but like its literally wrong, and the assets are broken and stretched in incorrect ratios. Its like taking a picture of an object from an angle, cropping it out, and then placing it back into a scene viewed from a different angle. The assets are displaying from a downward side angle, but the actual camera is a straigh top down angle. The game would look SIGNIFICANTLY better and more clean/professional if it was a purely top down view, or only the SLIGHTEST angle.
The game looks interesting to me but that camera angle is really off putting, no idea why they decided to do it at that angle instead of the usual, loved camera angle.
Im a big fan of it so far. Ive tried tibia once or twice and as a long time osrs player this game hits right. At least for now. Long term itll probably die lol
Good vid. The camera/combat isnt for everyone ofc and it isnt my preferred either. The core mmo and pvp systems are great tho. Why cant we get an mmo with NewWorld combat but with these systems??
I feel like you havn't played an MMO before? You obviously didn't play enough because you didn't even mention there's 54 class combinations etc. So much missing this was a frustrating watch...
It's just a first impressions and the camera literally made me sick and caused me to stop... Which I mention in the video, I also say that you can pick extra archetypes but wasn't sure how they worked fully. On top of that I don't say anything bad about the content, I say the content and great
So, I've been playing for a few days now and i can say this. This game lacks freedom. You're forced to follow a very annoying path in order to complete the quests, and there is nothing you can do about it, and they are boring/annoying. Tibia has muchhhhhhhhhhh more freedom and feels much more fun than this game, sadly.
Hey jay have you checked out city of heroes homecoming yet? Its offifially legal now tons are coming in droves you may be able to cover it for content. Amasing mmo for free even server transfers are free. Way better then this mmo.
@@jayoddity Its actually great that you give your honest opinion... I just think gamers should try to feel the fun in game mechanichs as they are, other than expect something different... The premise of this game is the combat with less action, so people should try to see the fun in it. But awesome video anyways! Few people are talking about this little gem
Gave it a shot today, it's uh not good. That perspective is really bad and was not used much for decades for a reason. Between server issues/desync whatever it is movement feels bad too and thus range combat. Devs seem cool, wish them luck but definitely not for me.
Like your content man but this was a bad video. You kinda rambled too much. Set yourself a nice details summary of its parts, breakdown what may need breakdown and finalize it with your ending impression. Otherwise keep it up man you’re doing good. Just not this video lol
I am getting a few mixed opinions on this. Some people have told me it was good but some less so. It wasn't a ramble, I scripted it, I tried to weave in what happened during my experience with some stuff about the actual gameplay. Sort of like Josh Strife Hayes and Lazy Peon, but obviously I am no where near as good as them. The thing is, I could have explained what the game is, but that's not this video.
@@jayoddity ramble probably wasn’t a good word so I’ll apologize for that lack of vocabulary but don’t compare to guys of their own style do your own, but I feel like it could’ve been rough drafted a little longer and proofread a little more either way overall as a creator has been good, and I appreciate your feedback on many things

in Tibia you can place your own markers which is arguably more useful, and if you want you can download fully explored maps with lots of markers
Not your game Jay, this game caters to brazilian and polish tibia players and it's not everyones cup of tea
I never played tibia or knew bout this type of game. I love it
So they basically copied ArcheAge’s core systems - combining skill trees for a bespoke class, trade packs, zones at war, sea content etc.
it's a nice idea! Wish I could play more
Not made for everyone for sure, but it's an enjoyable game. Great video Jay, thanks!
Always my pleasure
no its not. I played it for a week and got to 41. It was fun at first but gets repeatative and grindy with no real sense of reward.
Just watching this video i couldn't help but thinking my head was tilted to the side but it wasn't you was kidding about the camera angle.
Yeah it breaks my mind as well to be fair
I was stuck in that commander quest too. The camera needs some kind of zoom improvement, specially on the minimap.
Aye it's crazy!
