Doing this as a mode is a good idea, they can keep doing new maps but have chapter 1 map rotate. Doesn’t need a ranked mode, it can just be a casual one since it’s not really made for zero build
I didn’t even mind the larger shops, I don’t like todays shop where it’s just stranger things
This is the first time I think I’ve strongly disagreed with italk, while yes it would be cool to keep it around as it’s own mode, I think what makes this month so special is knowing it’s a limited time thing. Fortnite is relevant again because people feel nostalgic for it right now but eventually the novelty will end and just like the first time chapter one was around, people will complain that the game is broken or stale or both and it’ll just die off slowly. I don’t want to see that slow death, I want it to be something we can celebrate now and hope it returns later.
In my opinion it’s all nostalgia don’t get me wrong I do believe people are having fun but I do think it’s nostalgia going to wear off sooner or later
what's even the harm in having this as a separate mode. Chapter 5 could coexist with this map and it could be written off as a "practice mode" or whatever lore wise.

Ok as an OG Day 1 player, I can say definitely that I like the innovation of the game over the multiple years. To rewind back to OG Fortnite is smart as a business but incredibly bad for new innovation of the game. Let's just enjoy the nostalgia while it lasts and then move on to something brand new. I always hate things that drag on too long and never change. 😂

I love Fortnite OG as its the most fun I had since chapter 2 season 7. I can see OG staying as a permanent mode. HOWEVER, this will obviously affect current Fortnite and the playerbase for it. I feel that OG should come back periodically so the hype and the momentum doesn't die. For example, they can bring it back on the most popular Chapter 1 seasons' birthdays or the anniversary of Fortnite. I understand some people don't like the previous chapters but if we all keep playing OG we're bound to get bored out of it one way or another.

Maybe they could make Fortnite OG a yearly thing since they wanna do 4 main seasons a year for a Chapter each season now lasts about 2-2/12 months on average so that leaves about a month or two for them to keep bringing back Fortnite OG as a yearly event and it’ll give players something to look forward to. Also if they wanted to change it up then they could bring back other maps as well in the future like the Chapter 2, 3, and 4 maps in the future as well.

I enjoy the OG season. Maybe bring it back once or twice a year for a week, that’s cool. But what has made THIS OG sweater is the fact that we have gone forward through chapters.
Chapter 3 gave us mantling and Sprinting and chapter 4 gave us a bunch of other things.
OG has been a blast, but I’m glad it is only a month!

It doesn't have to feel special after 4 months. To me it's just superior to all other chapters we have had, absolutely not only because of nostalgia, because the graphics, POIs, items etc. ARE superior to me. I would love if they kept it as a separate mode, alongside Chapter 5!

If it were to stay, it should be a yearly thing every November. Maybe not with a new OG pass, but bring it back as a mode specifically for every november.
I feel like they actually NEED to make chapter 5 and focus on story and map changes and keep og as a side mode or ltm. This season is also the most fun probably millions have had in a while but eventually people are gonna get bored of it and the numbers are probably gonna drop again until we have something new.
Exactly. Not to mention lots of the newer players don’t care for the ch 1 map, since lots of the modes and terrain and other newer features they adjusted to aren’t there anymore.
If it stays a permanent gamemode, it’s just going to turn out how Zero Build and Imposters did. People are going to slowly lose interest and it’s going to lose the magic it had at the beginning. Keep it limited time and maybe bring us back every couple of years, but keep it limited time.

Idk about you but zero build has been the only thing me and everyone I know have played since it came out. Admittedly this seasons zero build is terrible cause we don’t have any mobility and the map/ items aren’t well suited for zero build but other than that it’s much better in my opinion.
@@justinmorales9597 I’m not saying those mode became “bad”, just lost its magic and charm it had at the beginning. I played Imposters until the day it was removed and even through I still enjoyed it, I will admit it wasn’t as fun as it was when it first released.
Really hoping they keep it permanent! What you said at 3:55 is exactly how I feel. I really don't care for Chapter 5 when I'm having an incredible time on Fortnite right now! They struck gold with this mode and if they get rid of it...that would just be such a missed opportunity Imo.

@@skyeharris4010 Gotta disagree. To me Fortnite OG is something that is like Counter Strike. You don't change counter strike yet you still have hundreds of thousands gettin on the game daily. It's a perfect formula because it's a lot more simple than modern day fortnite. If they did make a mode, anyone who feels like it should be temporary can avoid playing it all the time...
I'd say bring it back at the end of each chapter.
We're currently in the honeymoon stage of it's return and I'm pretty sure we'd all get tired of it if it made a full return considering they'd most likely make no updates to it cuz they'd be focusing on current chapters.
The season lengths are perfectly fit for it too. Winter season in December - March. Spring season March - June. Summer season June - August. Autumn season August - October and then a small season in November to finish it off.
This should have been a 10 week season, starting in season 1 and ending on season x

I definitely agree. I was really hoping that the live event this season would stop The End somehow and we would just continue in Season 11. Knowing that Chapter 5 is just another chapter as usual kinda makes me sad. I hope they consider extending this season at least by a couple weeks.
I think it would be fun to have it come back every so often, maybe with like an event to bring back old battle pass snapshots, but I guarantee that if stays permanently then people will complain that it got boring and that it doesnt change.
Gotta say as someone who first played back in Chapter 1 Season 2, this is the best version of Fortnite. The combination of the new game mechanics and the old map +items makes the experience unrivaled. I’m glad that the people who missed out on it have the opportunity to give it a try!
This could also give many people to have a chance to see POIs they missed from either prior to Season 5 or from Season X since some of the locations from that point in time was only in the game for a week
I think chapter 5 is going to have the best events. Also i think first-person mode is being introduced there too. Lastly, they're starting chapter 5 off during Christmas month, and Fortnite knows how to make any map feel awesome with their christmas events, so there's that to look forward to

At this point everything in the shops have been things that we've seen like every other week. There's just the same cosmetics OVER and OVER again.

Would be nice for it to be permanent definitely, it would also eliminate the "everyone is a sweat" thing since the good comp players would be playing the new map
I think itd be nice for it to be a permanent mode and they could as a season progresses, rotate the maps from ch1s1 to ch1s10 and then just repeat it from 0 in the next season

it’s popular now due to the novelty of not having played on this map for 4 or 5 years. eventually that’ll wear off and people will get bored like when people were begging for the map to change shortly before chapter 2…
They should make it a map selection like how warzone has different maps in their game

While I don’t think they’ll keep it full time, I really think they should consider taking elements of the old map into a new map (I’ve already seen the chapter 5 map, it seems too realistic tbh). They should add the colourful cartoonish artstyle and the variety of biomes into a new map.
Edit: in summary, they should just basically make a remaster of the chapter 1 map
Yes, while I wouldn't mind Fortnite OG being in the game for a much longer time (I'd actually think that would be really cool), it's just OG fortnites flow was so much better than what we have now. It's an entirely different feeling. If they brought out chapter 5 with og graphics, simple weapons, no crazy new mechanics, fun vehicles rather than random cars I think it would perform just as well. If Fortnite was only the OG map people will eventually get bored, just like they did near the end of chapter one. This season is AMAZING and it's not entirely nostalgia, but that is a big part of it
i love fortnite og, because balance and simple, my potato pc & ps4 fat run so well.. im so happy and call my old friend to play fortnite again, so nostalgic
I do agree with you man, but I feel like if they did do this, it would lose its spark. The best thing to do would bring something like this every year and a half, maybe 2

@@regular-person they would make loads of money if people knew it would happen only once every two years. And my idea was it doesn’t have to be the same season 5-10 everytime. It could be a limited season 1-4, or something in chapter 2
I have a feeling it’ll end up staying as a mode bc originally zero build wasn’t gonna stay but it was so popular they ended up keeping it as a mode.
For the OG season it was leaked that Rift events are coming to the island and will have items from Chapter 4 in them like the motorcycles and Katanas. Some players are upset about this but I personally have no issue with these things coming to the OG island especially since I’m a Zero Builds player and some of the end game circles turn into huge empty fields so at least the Katanas will help in the sense of dodging some bullets.

No, I feel like they should have it return to the OG map every once in a while like once a year before new chapter. Take us back then, but I think as a permanent mode defeats the growth of the game

This is the first time I've played as much Fortnite as I have in well over a year. I just feel the game just got way too crazy as time went on, it’s been nice to go back to when things were simpler. A more civilized age you could say. Anyway I really hope it stays, it somehow saved the game in terms of player count, that should be proof enough that something like Fortnite OG is almost needed for the game to keep going. Again let’s hope this stays like Zero Build did.

And since its a month long, they even have a almost perfect rotation to swap from season 5 all the way to X every month if they keep it around which makes it even more of a good idea to keep around
Fortnite OG feels like it was actually made with love by epic. It feels fun, it isn't overly serious or boring like the past 2 chapters, this literally is the most fortnite fortnite has ever been

Nostalgia aside, I love it and don’t want to see it go so soon. As someone that's played since C1S3 I feel like less is more, alot of features in modern Fortnite I can easily live without, like Fishing, Gold, NPCs, Augments etc. I love the more simplistic back to its roots lootpool, we don't need heaps of healing and mobility items!. Really the only feature I miss is swimming, but I love that places like Loot Lake make you walk slower and add an element of risk to travelling in water.
I don't think any other map has come close to chapter 1's map either. It feels smaller, all the POIs feel so close together, you don't need cars and mobility to travel around to get to the next POI, or spend ages looking for enemies!.
Hey Italk, you could technically recreate that Intro with Creative when you make your own map, the Island is an option to be used
It speaks volumes that I always have to go into multiple minutes of a queue to enter the game.

They should also change back the og weapons’ icons/models to their original icons/models (e.g. the pump shotgun)
The loot pool is very scarce in my opinion…. Everything is hard to find from ammo to heal items….and the lack of PUIs is noticeable too💯

Fortnite OG is so good. So good infact that ive already grinded out the pas because I want the cosmetics so i can play with alongside the map. I love this map. I dont want it to go. PLEASE EPIC PLEASE. i'm enjoying the gameplay loop, these past chapters have felt like I was playing a different game. This is what ive been wanting for so long. I don't want it ripped out of my hands again.

I am loving this OG mode. I've improved so much with fortnite game play, nearly 95% of the time I'm in top 5 finishes. While before I was hitting top 20. Shooting is so basic and I love the weapons and I'm not scared to go into fights now. Normal modes I hate the fights.
I wonder if they’ll keep it as a separate game mode for builds and zero build, I only say that because of how successful it was like zero build was, I wonder if they will keep it around?
Truly the best. I played since. 2017 and really never stopped playing till maybe 5 months ago I’ve been drifting off it as it seemed just not the same game anymore especially with removing arena and all that. But having the old map and my old friends I used to play with back on it’s been way better
I stopped playing and caring when chapter 3 dropped but this got me hooked again I hope to god it gets kept in the game
Epic might also want to bring the chapter 1 map back in the storyline in the near future so they may not keep it as a permanent mode

The only thing that makes it special is that it's limited time. It's already starting to get stale. The only thing thats keeping me excited is the live event.
I hope they keep it in, and update it similarly to how they update StW's Ventures mode. Like, give us S6 and cube related items in October and November, S7 for the winter, S4 or S9 during the Spring, and SX for the Summer and anniversary month
They should do what Apex does, with a 2-3 hour duration of each season before going to the next season (So it may be season 4 then 3 hours later it’ll be season 5)
As much as I looooove this season, I believe it shouldn't stay, 1 month is fine, it's one month to have the most fun ever since back in the day, sad that it will be leaving but that's why we must cherish it even more for what it will be

Fortnite could keep the OG mode kind of like WoW Classic while continuing the new seasons.
The problem is that if it will stay maybe it wont bring much attention to the main map you know and thats why fortnite wants to keep it limited time only
Yeah keep it as a ltm with xp for kills and chest and stuff.. But keep all the main quests, ranked, storyline to chapter 5 and etc

Look I love Fortnite OG. Leveled up 40 levels since release, but I heavily disagree. If they keep it in it will be extra work for them and I don’t see people continuing to play the OG maps with new weapons and releases after awhile.
My massive issue is skins still showing as default.
And currently wondering if I will be able to put a dent in My wishlist with the item shop be too small.

I think they should keep updating normal Battle Royale and add a barebones mode with the OG loadout, this back-to-basics season has been so refreshing and it would be so cool to be able to choose between playing with the new season’s features or with the basic Battle Royale set up

I've had an idea ever since i first heard the rumors about fortnite OG, what if they had a rotating "flashback" LTM every few days simulating an old season? Like one week it would be ch1s7's map and lootpool, and the next it could be ch3season1. This would give fans of every chapter a chance to play their favorite map, as well as give people who quit fortnite at some point a chance to play the seasons they missed. :)
Yeah I mean it also fits with storyline because we have the Time Machine at our possession, so PLEASE FORTNITE keep the mode!!!
They should do a thing like apex legends. They should have 3 or more maps in rotation

wasn't No Build originally supposed to be a limited time thing then turned into a whole new mode based on feedback? same thing will most likely happen with OG imo
The map etc has everyone on a nostalgia trip but to me, fortnite will never be 'og' again. Everyone was bad back in the og fortnite, scared of any builds and would rarely build themselves, compared to now which is the old map with the evolved playerbase which is what the game should be doing, evolving, not going back.

you have to remember that they are going to add a first person mode at some point so splitting the fanbase more and more isn’t a good idea and i believe people will get bored eventually
I don't think that Fortnite-OG is sticking around. Let me explain-
Epic is a smart company in terms of marketing. When the game isn't doing so good, they do a collab (whether that be Marvel, DC, Travis Scott, etc.). And when the game is doing good, they worry about profit. The reason being they have the players, but players aren't buying anything from the shop or vbucks or anything. This is their way of getting a player base back after the drop off of 2020-2023. After the absolute drop in players during Chapter 2 Season 3, they never really recovered. Streamers played other things, thus the 9 year olds followed. When they bring back something like this, its a last ditch attempt to get people to play their game again so they can attempt to reach an economic equilibrium. Its all marketing and business, not pleasing the players.
I’ve been saying this for years, They should really give us the option to choose which map we play on like Apex did with Worlds Edge and Kings Canyon

It’s a really cool thing obviously but I’m really looking forward to chapter 5 already. They probably have big things planned and I always like seeing the new ideas like the hammer and katana. Mobility is a big thing for me in games and make gameplay in everything so much better and I miss it.
Yeah the newer maps are definitely more exciting. What I like the most about this season is the loot pool, but the map itself is honestly kinda bland to me. I don’t remember it being that bland back in the day, but I guess that just goes to show how much the devs improved at map design.
If it ends up being permanent then they aren’t gonna say until the end of the season because they want the max amount of attention on them and whatever they’re doing next beforehand. Also, that “this may be gone soon never to come back, play right now” mentality probably also really helps with numbers.

I 100 percent agree with Italk and I’m enjoying Fortnite more than I ever did just because of the og map and this season is really good. I also do want to say epic should keep the og map because if they don’t the player count will decrease again and will never be this high as it is so far and even it will feel selfish of epic towards their community because we want to stay on the og map and if we don’t a lot of people are going to quit playing again.
