    22/30, 73% completion percentage, 387 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns, 12.9 average yards per throw, 4 rushes, 10 rushing yards, and 1 rushing touchdown.
    All in only THREE quarters. Not a full game. Just three quarters. And this was against Texas A&M who was ranked #22 in the nation.

    A&M is a good team but Alabama is a lights out team. Simply the best Offense I have seen in years at BAMA.

    • @GuessTechSports
      @GuessTechSports 6 лет назад +6

      I'd say it's the best EVER in the history of Alabama's program. I've studied this pretty well and I don't see another offense (especially in the last 40 years.. that comes close). Bama has a single dominant receiver (sometimes a dominant and a 'sidekick' and a game manager QB,. or a Jalen hurts who can't throw very well but can run.. and the BEST QB Alabama's had in decades has been AJ McCarron .
      So Alabama has Not only the best QB they've ever had -- But 4 Wide Receivers who are all NFL caliber in Jeudy, Waddle, Ruggs, and Smith -- a true mismatch tight end in Irv Smith, Jr,.. -- and 5 star RB's who can all catch reliably. On top of that the O-line is as talented as it's been since 2012 (but does need to continue to get better) -- and the running back stable is as talented and deep as it's ever been with 4th Yr Senior (2nd Round draft grade last year) Damien Harris,.. #1 OVERall player in 2017 - Najee Harris, change of pace back -- Josh Jacobs (then Brian Robinson, Jerome, etc). It's just off the charts on talent/ability and a guy who can get the ball to everyone consistently (oh who can run as well).
      I don't see how any previous offense can come close to matching it.

    • @tom4bucs
      @tom4bucs 6 лет назад +1

      Don't forget #84 Hentges who has 2 TD's and a super block for Ruggs td jet sweep - Josh Jacobs had TWO blocks on that pass play, too. And KUDOS to the receiving corps and running backs - if they do not have the ball - somebody's butt is going down out of the way from their blocks - so unselfish. What a TEAM!

      He was wanting to run the offense in that fastball style with the two minute feel but this coaching staff is trying to get him to be able to grind out the clock, control the game. There is no doubt they can put the peddle down and score anytime. Saban wants to have a ball control option.

    • @jimmyc1518
      @jimmyc1518 6 лет назад +3

      @@rodneysparks6442 I agree, I had a feeling before the season they would try to mold him into being able to control the clock but also have to turn him loose because that's just who he is. Tua is not a game manager he's a game changer. But if it comes down to it they'll let him go win a game.

    • @GuessTechSports
      @GuessTechSports 6 лет назад +1

      Yeah,.. this is a part of Tua I like but also dislike. Tua is such a humble guy on and off the field.. except for these times. He's probably the MOST competitive person on that field and if weren't raised the way he was.. he would be like Baker Mayfield was only worse in his antics on the field due to his ridiculous competitive spirit/nature.
      Tua is a 20 year old kid - He hasn't NEAR the X's and O's or overall 'head coaching' knowledge of well.. Nick Saban, and the people he's chosen to lead his program (his coaches). Tua should really try to 'check' his on field behavior when he shows he is UPSET because Alabama didn't GO for it on 4th down and a mile.. Because he wants the tempo of offense to be national championship speed (like Bama's in a deficit) all game.. combined with the playcalling to be longer shots all game. Just because Tua can do it doesn't mean it's a GOOD IDEA.
      Tua is smart enough to understand that the coaches know best. More over.. he's smart enough to understand that the GOAT (Nick Saban) PROBABLY knows just a little more about what to call, when to call it, and how to manage a football game than he does.
      I LOVE Tua.. I'm as high or higher on the kid than most people -- I have videos dedicated to him and have analyzed him extensively (Go check "What makes Tua Tagovailoa so special" video for an example) -- but this is just competitive emotion being channeled into visible (almost disrespect towards the coaches).
      Knowing Tua, I know he means no disrespect - and I just chalk it all up to the fact that his competitive nature is SO INTENSE it is part of what has allowed him to develop into the player he IS.. and it's going to have a tiny bit of 'negative' associated with all the good that comes from it. No big deal,.. but I'd like to think Tua will mature over the season and college career to really begin to understand Nick Saban can't throw the ball like he can,.. but Saban (and asst's) know better how to create mismatches/x's and o's for Tua to go out and execute (like QB's should be doing in college).
      On another note: I would like to see them give Tua (and other Bama QB's) the option to check OUT of certain runs when the box is obviously loaded (and are going to go for a loss).

      Tua even got in the face of Dan Enos the quarterback coach on the play calling. Tua threw at least 2 bad passes during the entire time he was in the game. So how did he have a subpar game? The offensive play calling wasn't that good in the game and that wasn't Tua's fault.

    All this and oddly I thought Tua was a bit off. Mind you I am not complaining about 387 while not playing perfectly. He missed on some throws that have been automatic. His play and that of the receivers however did cover some problems though and I think Saban agrees. For the most part TAMU was able to stop our run game while in pass defense mode. They weren't stacking the box. Most of the time the plays were blown up by one missed block. Lots of whiffs by the OL. For awhile there the play calling was really bad, failed running plays on first and second and then asking Tua to bail us out on 3rd and long. All things correctable and not bad to hang 45 on a pretty good SEC team while not clicking on all cylinders.

      LSU having the leagues best defense is laughable. Bama will have less trouble with Lsux than TAMU. Also Lsux's offense is TAMU's with a less talented QB who can't run like Mond. They will be lucky to score 10 on Bama.

    • @151battousai

      Eh, that is debatable. They let LA Tech hang in there; and their QB also threw for some pretty good yardage. LSU won't face a better offensive team than Alabama in the regular season. LSU offense is slightly better but Burrows isn't going to be a game changer at QB. The biggest bane right now for this Bama defense is a mobile QB which Burrows isn't, not like Mond anyways.

    • @bamahammer3660
      @bamahammer3660 6 лет назад +1

      AW you saw the same thing I saw in the game regarding the OL. I became a little frustrated with the OC play calling. Texas AM did an outstanding job of stuffing the middle and not allowing the run. The Bama OC would call two running plays back to back in the middle and get stopped. That put Bama mostly every time in third and long. I don't understand why the OC just didn't have the RB's run out to the flats or have the TE come across the middle on a crossing route. I also noticed the Bama LB's were slow to react to the play at times allowing Texas AM to move the chains and maintain possession of the ball. Finally Coach Saban needs to immediately go and find a graduate transfer or junior college punter because the Bama punter simply cannot punt over 3o years. It is because of him that allowed Texas AM to have outstanding field position resulting in scores. I don't understand every year how Bama ends up with either a sorry kicker or a sorry punter. Last year Bama had a good punter but a sorry kicker that almost cost the team the National Championship.

    • @connoreasterday306
      @connoreasterday306 5 лет назад

      Get. The. Fuck. Out. LOL, he is nowhere NEAR Russell Wilson. Not only is Wilson a million times better of a runner (way faster, way quicker, way more elusive), but he's a million times better of a thrower too! Wilson is more accurate, has extremely better ball placement, has more pop in his throws, he throws with more anticipation, velocity, and whip. He has a clean, quick release while Tua has an inefficient, slow release. Mechanically its on another level. Tua brings the ball back to far, he throws it way over his head, his non-throwing arm is dead rather than in motion with his body, his chest faces the receiver instead of his front shoulder, he plays open. Tua is so much sloppier mechanically. And I haven't even talked about ARM STRENGTH. Tua has to manufacture power and try extra hard to throw the ball 25-30 yds. Wilson maintains a quick zip release when throwing 45 yds. Wilson throws a faster, harder ball. He's also so much better with touch passes. He's way better in the pocket too. Handles pressure better, doesn't hear footsteps, doesn't escape too soon, doesn't wait too long. Tua does all of these things much more often than Wilson. And again I come back to...Russell Wilson is a BILLION TIMES BETTER OF A RUNNER!!! Not even in the same atmosphere. Congrats man, this is the worst take I have heard in a few years.

    It is hard to get respect when it looks like the defense didn't show up. There will probably only be three or four games all year that will see him in the fourth quarter, and two of those will be playoff and championship.

      @Ohio Against The World
      You sound envious. But I guess that makes sense being that Ohio State has never had a dynasty, let alone one that could compare to the one Alabama is smack-dab in the middle of. I love how you say that Alabama was irrelevant, as though that irrelevance was some kind of long-standing era. By my count it lasted 14 years, before which they were arguably the most consistent team in college football history. In any case, Alabama still has more D1 national championships than Ohio state will have if the world continues for another million years. True story.
      But I digress.
      Tua's unexampled talent is more than a subjective fancy. It wasn't only Trent Dilfer saying at the Elite 11 competition that he'd never seen a quarterback of this caliber in his entire life. Dilfer is merely the one that people keep running to for sound bites on this kids potentiality. I'm glad that an Ohio State fan doubts this kids greatness because the next 15 years or so are going to be so much fun to rub in your ugly little faces.
      Fuck your lying, duplicitous, morally compromised coach and fanbase. Fuck your team. Enjoy the L you're going to take this weekend against Penn State, faggot.

      I've thought the same. Belichick and Saban have coached together many years in the past.. and are good friends. Plus it's obvious when watching Tua who has just started.. how good he is and his ceiling. Brady has another couple years in him -- and Tua IS almost the safest bet to be a DOMINANT super bowl caliber franchise QB in the NFL. Given this - I can see Belichick ensuring he can draft Tua in 2020/21 and Brady passes the mantle on to a Quarterback,.. who.. is honestly considerably more gifted. Thus keeping the Patriots domination of the NFL going for as long as Belichick coaches. We'll see,.. but Tua is an Aaron Rodgers QB who may be better than Rodgers. We have to remember Tua has 4 Starts under his belt -- He has a remarkably high ceiling and his play already is good enough to be drafted at some level imo.

      Tua even got in the face of Dan Enos the quarterback coach on the play calling. Tua threw at least 2 bad passes during the entire time he was in the game. So how was he a little off in the game? The offensive play calling wasn't that good, especially on run plays and they used too many screens in the game and that wasn't Tua's fault.

Tua has also attempted lesser passes than Grier even though he's played in more games. To me, Grier is still going to be in NYC barring injury.
