      Thank you so much! It was 6 hours of video!! I thought, yep better condense this, hahaha! I am sitting there rubbing on cleaning paste and singing the ABC's with Olive and then you can hear a crash and distant "Sorry Mom" in the background, lol. Couldnt you just imagine watching that process, lol!

      I’m sorry one more quick question. I looked in your description, but couldn’t find specifically what you create your verdigris cleaning paste with. What do you mix together to make your paste and in what proportion? I see a ton of things online on how to clean verdigris, but I don’t trust any of them because I don’t want to damage the jury been vintage/antique. Thanks so much.

      Oh I know! I made a mistake and forgot to put it in the video. I knew everyone would want it. I will have to make another video so I can show all the things I actually mix with simple supplies from my house. It is so much cheaper and better than a lot of the things you can buy. It is actually just a teaspoon of baking soda and I mix until it becomes a thinned paste consistency Windex (off brand :) with ammonia. The ammonia is really important in this mixture because it is what neutralizes the copper acetate and will allow it to be cleaned off. It is really just that simple! I rub off the dried on and clumps of verdigris, then apply it will a small q tip or even toothpick in tiny places. It works great, but does take a bit of extra time just because it is a more gentle solution so not to damage the metal. I hope this helps!

    Hi Olive, was so happy to see a video from you. Just love your knowledge and passion for vintage jewelry.
    Speaking for myself, I’d LOVE to see this work in real time. Im sure many others would too. Would you consider just letting the recording run while you work? I can’t watch sped up video, so I had to miss a lot of this video. ☹️ But I saw enough to know you’re awesome!
    Thanks so much. Cheri

      Oh thank you! I think it would be so entirely boring to watch me, because it really can take me hours to do it. Not because I am so slow, but because I have to stop and do so many things for my daughter all the time. Do you mean like a live video, or just not sped up? I actually could probably do either, but who knows what people would have to listen to in the background. I hope everyone loves number blocks and bluey! lol. I actually did a restoration over a Trifari necklace and just sold it not long ago and was thinking of putting that video together. Maybe I can do the sped up version for some, and then post the full length one for anyone who would like to see that. I know I always like the full length ones. Especially if I am trying to learn. Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments.

    I did go on pandahall but I didn't find my stone . Maybe I'm not navigating it right , any way I am looking for the watermelon rivolli stones with foil covered pointed backs . Do I need to buy a micrometer to measure the stone?

    • @OlivesVintageMarket
      @OlivesVintageMarket  Год назад +2

      You would definitely need to measure the stone to figure out what size you need. If you are looking for just one of those let me know the size. I have a few here and would be happy to send it if I have it on hand. I just use a digital caliper you can get one for under $10 at most craft stores or Amazon.

      OMG! DUH!! I forgot to say it! I was trying so hard to just get the video done. lol, I will have to make a video to show how I make most of my stuff out of really cheap products. It is really just about one teaspoon of baking soda and Windex with ammonia (the off brand, lol). The ammonia is very important for this because it breaks down the copper acetate.
