Well I'm a little disappointed with this commentary. This drama had nothing to do with the N-word and you're not going to be able to stop Black people from saying it so the discussion is futile but I guess if you can change a handful of people's minds it is worth it. The bigger issues are how this man thought he was being checked when Kendrick was actually checking Black men and holding them accountable for protecting Black women and our culture; how this man openly joked about raping a Black man, formerly known as buck breaking, with the purpose of publicly emasculating him............... Meanwhile y'all are worried about the N-word. Respectfully, y'all did not understand the assignment. However, I absolutely love you and the show!!!
I understand where y’all are coming from but it’s not about how Kendrick handles himself but Andrew handles himself. Great message just a little off topic
Do we honor each other? Have black women and black men defended each other against stereotypes publicly? Like the Angie Stones of the World and the Maxwell's of the World
My only argument here is that in this space we act as if this ignorant stuff did not also exist in our era. I'm all about it but I also don't care for the self-righteous stuff. We all evolved and we have to also have to give our young people the space and the grace to evolve.
Yes the ignorant rap was there but we also had a balance. Where is the KRS One, Public Enemy, or Dead Prez of this generation. Who is silencing the conscious rap?
@@jdawg1902so what it still existed and only grew! Perhaps had y'all stopped it in your generation, it wouldn't have been passed to the next. There is no "balance" justification.

@SassyDivine22 its not so what. Its call having your own voice in your art. Future is a 40 year old rapper talking about drugs and women. Thats because people in your generation keep giving that type of music cover. Its possible to have balance. You can be clachet ( Classy and Ratchet).
The entire point is missed. I dont care if he had a point or Kendrick Lamar is a hypocrite. I dont fw none of these rappers. The point is that black people cant drag white women, jewish women, asian women etc RACIALLY then no one else should be able to speak on black issues or black men or women. PERIOD. its not about the music its what we allow. Its also about balance.
"It means what that whip and that lash meant when they hit us with that with that word, and they are using it now." You're saying something today, Karen.
But it wasn't a warning to white comedians. He wasn't in conversation with Schultz or any of them. Why on earth would Kendrick be telling Schultz to essentially stay on code or explaining to him what's law? Is Schultz a part of hip hop or part of black culture? He was addressing the black men who enable their nonsense by giggling along like five-year-old. Too bad that Schultz cannot tell the difference between talking "about" versus talking "to".
As a Black American man, hip hop lyrics has always turned me off from its beginnings til now. Male Hip-Hop artists have always disrespected women and you can’t say they haven’t. And don’t get me started on the “sag”.
Thank you for this one!☝🏾 As a musician that believes in freedom of expressions as an artist, this is one of the first arguments on the subject that is persuasive and is giving me pause and changing my mind on the matter.
See, THIS is what happens when certain folks give invites to the cookout that shouldn't be invited. I wouldn't know who Schultz was without Lenard being his road dog.
As a black man i should be able to use the language i was raised up speaking ..... yt people should be able to stsy in thier lane and mind they business
Schultz is hiding behind “but they’re just jokes” but his comments weren’t jokes at all. There was no setup or punch. He just said a bunch of fowl crap that only racists and people who dislike Black women would laugh at. If you point at somebody and say “dude is straight ugly” and everybody laughs, is that a joke or are you just being a bully??
You’re giving Andrew too much credit. He’s not basing his comments off of Kendrick’s lyrics. This isn’t about the word nig.. . It’s about Kendrick speaking on Andrew. You’re creating a narrative ma’am due to your feelings about the n word. Your cohost is right
Gurllll you way off topic...this is not about policing hip hop ...WE ARE THE PIONEERS AND WE HAVE TO BE THE ONES TO DO IT.🫤 This is simply about a racist white man given permission to go in on a black man.
That ish Shultz said about having s*x with Kendrick is out of bounds and might be have gotten him or the people around him in a world of trouble. Kendrick is right for standing on his principles.
This is a him improving and bringing others with him. If you don’t like him talking about his environment, change his environment, which he is doing. Make sure we aren’t acting like church folks shunning people whose journey you don’t understand. He’s talking to his community. Listen to lyrics.
I think I deleted the wrong duplicate. I listened again @karenhunter. I will add to my comment. Give Kendrick time to bring his community around to a 180.
Drake started. Drake didn’t learned from the Pusha battle don’t bring up people family. That is why the battle went there. ‘Don’t tell any lies on me. i want tell truth about you.’ - Euphoria.
This is far more nuanced than this conversation clip addressed. I will start with a big thank you to Karen for the work you share. About this Schulz mess, I suggest you listen to the full context of that Schulz recording. It was horrific! He defended his actions with brutality. He went on to threaten to SA Kendrick in disguising detail. I understand that the rap beef is one topic. The use of ninja in rap is another discussion. This Schulz issue needs to be addressed. I've even made comments in several of your videos about how problematic it is that we black people keep bypassing the supposed comedian to instead look at whatever this racist man deflects our attention toward. He disguised disdain for black people as a conversation about rappers. Think of how MAGA co-opted "woke." I don't respond to them coding their hate by pointing at AAVE for using woke. Bottom Line: Andrew Schulz prompted his earlier guests to choose whether or not they preferred white women or black women because he said BW are violent and ignorant. Andrew Schulz called those same men double slaves to their faces in that podcast. We collectively said nothing to HIM. Andrew Schulz justified denigrating BW in response to Kendrick Lamar's callout. Then Andrew Schulz made a host of vile threats about how he'd SA Kendrick in retaliating getting called out. My response is not to point at Kendrick with blame here. It's to bring that hot spotlight back around to the problem: Andrew Schulz and his Charlemagne protected status. His show with CTG gives him clout in the black community for no valid reason. We need this outrage to be pointed at both CTG and Andrew Schulz for their ongoing harm.
Andrew was sarcastically addressing the audacity & hypocrisy of an american rapper to tell anyone to respect women when he’s never told other rappers to respect women! The “rules for thee, but not for me” standard doesn’t work against those who will call out the b.s. Selective outrage is typically shortsighted… 🤦🏽♂️
I love how old heads skip over the fact that hip hop was birthed from block parties and having a good time. Why do people wanna make hip hop solely about struggle? It’s both and not either or.
So Andrew wasn’t supposed to respond? I do agree it is our fault making other comfortable around us to the point they feel they can check us in the way Andrew did. Same reason you shouldn’t disrespect your wife in front of your friends. You can’t get mad when your friend throws disrespect her way.
Defend better. Your defense is saying “YOU WILL RAPE” another man as your defense?!?!?! Andrew better be careful cause he do shows in LA and Kendrick might know some booty goons who like goofy looking white boys and will be calling him “YO ANDREA!!!!” 🤷🏿♂️
No, He wasn’t supposed to respond. He was supposed to shut tf, but he can’t because he’s shaken up. Kendrick wasn’t even talking to him he was talking to other black men.
Yes you can get mad because it affects us as a community not just one person. We constantly have to suffer from a few bad apples. We should tell him to mind his business. We also need to do better.
My Brother & I have been stopped saying that BS since 1982 … how are people claiming a violent slur that ended too many of our people’s existence. HOW?!🤨
"Don't let no white comedian talk about no Black woman, that's law". Kendrick's line was not directed at Shultz, it was directed at Black Men who are in the rooms and allow people like Shultz to disrespect Black women. The Charlemagnes of the world, The Shixts & Gigs of the world etc... Shultz's response was essentially the what about Black on Black crime argument. He just keeps telling on himself.
This comment is sooooooooo ignorant. Try & flip it all you want, the original use of the word will always exist. You all have just been trained so well by ytee folks, y’all can’t let it go.
I was watching a video with KRS and Mc Lyte and others, and Lyte mentioned that in early hip hop no one called women b-tches or hoes. That stuff didn't come about until later. At least not in NYC. The crack era really changed a lot in the culture. I really appreciate Kendrick and hope this agitation of our conscience continues.
I’ve always been a fan of cleaner hip hop with a message, even as a teen. That’s why Oddisee is one of my favorite rappers. He decided in 2015 to not have curse words and n-words in his lyrics, but the music is still dope.
Professor Hunter, would it be possible to invite Kendrick Lamar on your show for a discussion. Just wondering if he gives interviews or the like. I really enjoy your discussios/guests. ❤

✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
I honestly thought Kendrick was addressing the 2 brothers that was kiking with Schulz.
You are correct!
I understand where y’all are coming from but it’s not about how Kendrick handles himself but Andrew handles himself. Great message just a little off topic
Andrew offence will return to him one day. His words will be his double edge sword.
Never heard of Schulz until he was on Tom Brady roast this year...
The more i hear of this Schulz dude the more I cant stand him!! He needs to take several seats and just stop speaking on our culture. 😤
Loved the show, keep doing what you do.
Really enjoying your channel!
The old saying "Clean up your own backyard" applies.
Do we honor each other? Have black women and black men defended each other against stereotypes publicly? Like the Angie Stones of the World and the Maxwell's of the World
Toronto on Father’s Day that’s CRAZY
Big Sis Karen I love you but I have to disagree with you. . . .Actually 50 Cent is the biggest troll in Hip Hop😆.
you are probably right.
At what point does each generation stop "evolving" from the same starting point?
@@jdawg1902so what it still existed and only grew! Perhaps had y'all stopped it in your generation, it wouldn't have been passed to the next. There is no "balance" justification.
I agree with you @Bosay831Gaming! The irony of it is that is precisely what Kendrick is attempting to do but you got Black people talking about Schultz was right. No! He was talking to Black Men and we are responsible for checking ourselves and protecting our culture.
Kdot was telling him to not speaking on black women. For shultz to then double down and then threatened to SA him is out of pocket.
"It means what that whip and that lash meant when they hit us with that with that word, and they are using it now." You're saying something today, Karen.
Public Enemy never used the N-word and their music today can smoke most of the music that's out here today.
Oh hello!!!!! That's what I'm saying.
Yeah they did. Stop making up fake crap. You are not helping anyone.
@@E-d1d3 name the song. No one is making up crap troll
Did they ever discuss Andrew saying he would sexually assault Kendrick???
That's criminal threat and he should be at the very least , causioned by the police for that.
Andrew Shulz the Booty Bandit.
Have always? Ignorant 😅
Lies your white with no knowledge Culture Vultures
@blackconfucius888
Yes, always.
You are substituting the word "everyone" for "always".
We disrespect each other every second of the day.
Who is we?
Is that what you tell your mother?
@Rose-p7y4i That's what I tell your mother.
Facts
With a name like shultz, why dont he handle his own community??
We not paying attention to Andrew or Drake. 😂
@@rubincarter3904 what did Drake do for this stray?
@KevinGloverpost24 As of late, Drake, is really showing us how immature he is.
He disparages BW too, for example- Rihanna and Serena.
I'm not paying attention to any rapper or celebrity. I prefer to listen to scholars and people who don't degrade me!💯
@ he has been 21 for 18 years 😂
The TGM ad and music is dope!
As a black man i should be able to use the language i was raised up speaking ..... yt people should be able to stsy in thier lane and mind they business
Andrew's mentality was shared by the 75 mil who voted for Trump..... My wrongs don't make you right looking mofo!!!!
Yes!
Right
Tyler, you are right! That word should not be anyone’s vocabulary!
Had to go listen to it's All About the Benjamins. Wow!!!! Stack chips like....was really bleeped out. Is it on the original recording?
WOMEN KINGS 👑
That ish Shultz said about having s*x with Kendrick is out of bounds and might be have gotten him or the people around him in a world of trouble.
Kendrick is right for standing on his principles.
Kendrick purging hip hop of an imposter and supreme lame, defiantly makes things better 🤷🏾 1:29
You never outgrow respect. I'm 44 and have never cussed in front of my parents. To this day,and I never will.
He said Rape go fly a kite the president rapes too and a felon
Speak Karen🔥🔥🔥
Yep lines need to be crossed 💯Karen
I love how old heads skip over the fact that hip hop was birthed from block parties and having a good time. Why do people wanna make hip hop solely about struggle? It’s both and not either or.
so you are just here cutting and pasting the same comment?
Who's lyric was he reciting?
@@annmariebusu9924 i agree, like I said I blame those around him that let him get comfortable like that
@@Khiarika1 right and Andrew was basically saying he could have got at him directly. He stood on what he said.
Ooooooooooh, Karen! You were ranting my whole 70-year-old, socially active, black respecting soul today!
That’s right Lady K well said 💙💙💙💙💙
Drew made a valid point but morally he could get his ass kicked for being disrespectful!
Facts ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Why we using the white mans definition of the N word? Why can’t we use our own.
we don't have one...it's a word THEY invented to use on us...
This comment is sooooooooo ignorant. Try & flip it all you want, the original use of the word will always exist. You all have just been trained so well by ytee folks, y’all can’t let it go.
Youre projecting your self hartrd

@@reesebloom8093 The same way them folks took woke and changed the definition to suit their needs we can do the same.
Agreed! I feel the same Schulz should not have spoken!! I’m also refraining from Akash!!!
This is not about the N word. I don't like him using that word but this is about the disrespect of black women and SA of a straight black man
