Great reaction Lee, I think I love New Born so much because it gives everything Muse have: beautiful piano, killing bassline, crazy effects, amazing guitar riff, solo and always good drums.
@@L33Reacts and maybe next time I'll suggest the best song on The Second Law album, I think madness is good song because it's building and I like songs that build, panic station is good song too because the bassline make me shake my head, but they are after Supremacy and that make you basically want to skip them when you listen to the whole album and go straight to Supremacy No.2(for me...), Survival, haha
The costumes pf the Panic Station performance is a tribute to their own music video of the song shoot in Japan where this show happened. Such a fun performance to watch
Panic station was from their tour in Tokyo, apparently Tokyo has a lot of costume shops and they went crazy w the fun. Matts official statement about the song: ‘’According to Matt, in the Radio 1 interview after 'Survival', this track features brass. Muse have cited Prince as the inspiration for the 80's effects on the track. The song is described as having a "hysteric" feel, which is reflected in demented 80's elements such as backwards 'Let's Dance' drumbeats and riffs reminiscent of INXS' 'Suicide Blonde.' It features more gasping vocals from Matt. "That's 'Scary Monsters' Bowie meets Primus," said Matt. "Doing a funk track was for us remembering Rush and Primus, the more slap-bass things we liked." "Those big, spacious, wet, massive drum sounds," added Dom. "It started to conjure up memories of songs we'd listened to or grew up on in the '80s by Prince and Stevie Wonder and we wanted to take it in that direction."
Yep, same lineup for 30 years! I love that they gave you those two songs. They’re a rock band, but they can do electronic, funk, pop, symphonic, metal, hip hop… And yeah, they’re a pretty fun, wacky band.
Muse has never changed lineups. They just eventually added two additional players for live performances. "Hysteria" and "Stockholm Syndrome" will melt your speakers. Another fun band that is great live is Jared Leto's band 30 Seconds to Mars. His brother Shannon is a great drummer as well. "The Kill" and "Kings abd Queens" are a good start.
I've gotten to love Muse in the past few years. The guitar near the end of Newborn sounded a lot like Tom Morello's style of playing from Rage Against the Machine
Matthew Bellamy are the son of George Bellamy who played rhythm guitar for The Tornados in the early 60's. Known for their big hit Telstar. The Muse song Knights Of Cydonia has some inspiration from Telstar.
Aurora and Muse both. You really nailed the live performances today. Matthew Bellamy is one of those guys that it's just not understandable how he's so talented.
@@Mobiggs_ I’m glad to hear you enjoyed, my friend. It’s been a roller coaster of a day but that’s what I live for. These guys always bring the house down lol i had to close with them.
Saw Muse about five years ago. They put on an awesome show. So many great songs, including Supermassive Black Hole and The 2nd Law: Unsustainable. Matt Bellamy is a genius.
Info on the band: Yes they are a trio, same three for all their time, they’ve all known each other since they were 14 i believe. Some heavier songs you’d love from them! Stockholm Syndrome The Handler Dead Star Reapers Kill or Be Killed
You should really listen to them when they played at the Rome Olympic Stadium. I'd say it's one of their best live performances such good quality videos too!! But no matter what Muse is always incredible!!
@@L33Reacts absolutely did! I’ve got some suggestions lol. A bit of a list. For Muse: The Handler, Micro Cuts (*has* to be from Le Zenith - the absolute best), Reapers (from Cologne), MK Ultra (live from Turin) and Ruled By Secrecy (my personal favourite and a quite different sound from the hard riffs, though still very heavy ;) ) And also, maybe check Beyond Redemption by HIM?
I have posted this before but will do it again. Trivia time. The lead singer, Mathew Bellamy, his father was in the first British group to have a number one hit in America. The group was The Tornados and the hit was Telstar. Named after the first American satellite. The song was a instrumental and if you listen to it you can kind of hear influence in what Muse does.
Love Muse....more please !.l was at the Wembley gigs 2 nights best weekend in the history of weekends! The guitar he's playing there is known as the Glitterati ☺️ All his guitars are handmade by a company in Devon ... Manson guitars . And yes they are still a three piece
I have seen Muse in concert 4 times and they are f*cking UNBELIEVABLE!!! Singer Matt Bellamy has an incredible vocal range (inc falsetto), lyricist, guitarist, classically trained pianist and well as other instruments. Dominic Howard (drums, percussion) & Chris Wolstenholme (bass guitar, backing vocals) - I never knew you could do what he does with his bass! All three members are OUTSTANDING!🔥 Their songs are mainly about a range of things, but a LOT are about being controlled by the governments, secrecy, dumbing down and control of the masses. My favourite album of theirs is prob 'Black Holes and Revelations' - but check out 'Knights Of Cydonia', 'The Handler', 'Uprising', 'Map of the Problematique', 'Dead Inside', 'Starlight', 'Our Time Is Running Out', 'Plug-in Baby', ‘Butterflies & Hurricanes’ - the list is endless!🎸 PS My sister travelled to Rome to see them live 2 years ago again - she said 'Knights Of Cydonia' was outta this world! When I saw them in Dublin, I managed to crowd-surf when they played 'Knights Of Cydonia' - amazing feeling! MORE MUSE PLEASE!👏👏👏
If you want your mind really blown by what Muse is capable of live, find Micro Cuts, the Hullabaloo version. The recording is a little low quality but trust me, it's so worth it. I'm sure Matt must have sold his soul to the devil to hit notes like that, especially in a live setting.
Can’t stand them obnoxious fans you get of certain bands in comments but I’ve got to say Muse are different level. Generally you’re better serve reacting to live performances than studio versions of their songs. There’s dozens I could recommend but I think Stockholm Syndrome live at Earls Court 2004 is a good bet. There’s a good 4k ai upscale of it on by Chris Heck as well you could possibly try for it. Hullabaloo is my personal favourite as far as their live DVDs go. You’re bang on about their diversity. They can be super serious and complex but also aren’t above being silly as well which I like. New Born is one of my favourite songs ever but Panic Station is still an absolute bop.
People are just passionate, bored, or just uninitiated. I learned recently to just let them go lol I used to get mad but whatever let them argue and I’ll enjoy the tunes lol. Yeah muse is great. I’ve never really dived into their stuff like this but I having a passing knowledge of their hits. I’ve always enjoyed them. But seeing them in this light is eye opening, honestly. Such intensity and still having fun. I love it.

The best rhythm section in rock allows Matt to play around live and they always slot straight back into the groove just brilliant.
This is the best Trio to exist and last for 20 plus years

I still get goosebumps when I see a new reactor to Muse! Especially New Born, I love so many of theirs but this is probably my favourite overall
“Now I’m awake.” lol

Tom Morello/RATM is definitely one of Matt's inspiration.
Tom Morello appeared for one song in ond of Muse's song live a few years back.

Just so you know Dominic Howard is Muse's Drummer. There are some drum cam live videos out there on youtube. Check him out.
Also from Origin Of Symmetry, another hit single in the UK Plug In Baby. Used to play both those songs in my cover band, great fun.
