This is a very well done and very entertaining DVD! I highly recommend it for all classic rock fans. Surf music was the best homegrown rock at a time when the big label corporations were pushing their prefabricated pretty boys. This DVD does such a great job of documenting that early surf scene and the subsequent revivals.
Great trailer, looking forward to catching the rest. I still recall hearing my friends in the Finks, and was always blown away by them. By the time they were onto the their next venture, I was stoked to be a part of it. Still proud to have spent a few great years with Jake Cavalier, Greg Hunt, and Dave Klein -"Action" Andy, Bomboras '94-95
Surf music would be great background music for a documentary on the Newfoundland dog breed and their awesome ability to rescue humans in distress in the water

no matt most of the ventures music were covers they were the industys answer to commercialization of surf music they were a tght and great band but pipeline and wipe out were tracks they made popular but did not write..also they did their own arangments (which is fine) but listen to the drum solo in wipeout by the surfaris and note the accent is differant then the ventures tbis is only noticable if you grew up listening to the original drum(it sticks in your head ) especially if your a drummer and everytime i hear the ventures play i gotta cringe a little (not hatein) im.just that much of a purest!! and my ears can never let it go (my inner sense is NO YOUR DOIN IT WRONG!! and when anybody says oh wipeout the ventures song im like NO ITS BY THE SAFARIS !!! same for pipeline NONITS THE CHANTYS !!!. anyway such is the life of the boomer lol peace love and surf..(music )...
