- My review of Red Dead Redemption 2. I strongly believe this game will win game of the year. Its amazing I keep playing it and finding something new about the game everytime.

Pro I was trying to sell my cocaine with my friend on GTA and got attacked by tryhards from 2 different MCs that kept spawning oppressor mk 2 and killing me the second I spawned and destroyed some of my cargo

@Uncle Son stop crying. Both of them where just doing there civic duty and stoping criminals like you from profiting from the sale of illegal drugs. You can rest easy knowing R* has rewarded a massive $2k for their efforts in keep GTAO drug free.
I love this game so much it bothers me when people call it boring because they thought it would be like gta me personally I love the slow pace, role playing etc, and can not wait for online so I can do this stuff with my friends, I love that the online is going to be slower pace than gta and encouraging harmony and role playing. This game is phenomenal

Cool BEANS I see your view point regarding online, but if people are just buying this game for online sourly they are missing out on an incredible story and world that deserves to be played secondly if people did not enjoy the single player chances are they might not enjoy the online considering R* has said they are encouraging role playing and harmony so if the slow paced gameplay was not you cup of tea those same people will complain about online being boring, but that's just my opinion this game is not for everyone😊
I agree with this I loved being side tracked to just study the animals for hunting, the crafting just overall the detail in this game is something to behold
I just hope in online there isn’t a flying unicorn that shoots lasers and that tryhards will use it to there advantage
It;s their loss ;) I did not find even one boring moment. And if it's about GTA, I only finished 5th one and that was a bit boring to me. I didn't want to explore. But here, surprises everywhere, and you don't lose your gun and ammo if you're arrested ( only advantages) ;)
Not having all stranger missions on the map is a massive POSITIVE. Because it's more immersive and gives you a reason to explore all of the map.
Exactly you explore places you wouldnt otherwise go jus to see if something pops up
RDR2 10/10 I love this game and taking my time playing it.
Just for people who haven’t played yet. Do not rush the story I did n i regret it so much just take your time n explore everything its alot more enjoyable.
You can always play it more than once. You can play it quick one time and only stick to the story. 2nd time you can focus on the side missions and random encounters while leaving the story missions last.
I'm on chapter 6 and I want to ask, can you still do the side missions after the main story as john?

Arthur ended up being one of my favorite game characters especially in the second half and all the way to the very end he had an amazing turn around
You definitely have to go back and do all the stranger missions man. Hunt legendary animals and do all the bounties at the sheriffs. There’s a lot of great missions at camp too that happen throughout each chapter like hunting, fishing, robbing stage coaches, etc. It goes deeper into each relationship Arthur has with each camp member. You should play through the story again and do all of those side missions as you go along with the main story missions.

My only issue with the game is the holes you get on your hats. Your hat can get shot off and then it will have holes in it. That's fine, it adds to the realism. However, let's say you want to switch hats afterwards. The holes will carry on to each hats you wear and on the same spots. Even tho none of them were shot. And the holes don't go away, you actually have to quit the game and come back to fix that glitch.
I actually like that feature because Dutches hat had some holed after a mission where there was a shoot-out and i thought thats epic. I never noticed that glitch though as i don't change hats, i just use the one Arthur normaly wears.

Troll logic, "I don't like this game - putting 0/10 on Metacritic". Be positive instead and say, the game is great, but not for me. This game is a masterpiece through and through. If you are one of those disliking this game you have no clue how much work actually goes into creating everything you see on the screen.

IMO the guarma part was super cool but way to short a lot of people didn’t even get to explore it properly because of the long mission with Dutch
I dont know how anyone could choose a single game for goty 2018. The games were so good this year. I honestly couldnt choose.
Great in depth review Pro! Just finished watching your walkthrough on this game a oh man what a masterpiece! Kudos to Rockstar for putting so much effort into this amazing game! I have been waiting 8 years for another Red Dead Game, but it sure was definitely worth the wait! This game is definitely worth every penny! Also Pro, will you be making videos about the characters in RDR2? How about a "The Strange Man" Part 2, top 5 most annoying charachers, top 5 most sinister gangs, or an in depth analysis of the mind of Dutch? Just a few ideas. Great stuff as always Pat!

4:58 oh i had a similar experience i helped a fella with a snake bite and he was talking to a guy in rhodes later on and told me to buy anything from the general store, so being the scrooge I am I went ahead and bought the most expensive outfit the general store had lol
Best game ever, I haven't even attempted to beat it yet cus I keep starting over , just to admire all the aspects and details this game puts out, and you spot on with the review Pro I agree with everything u said, this will definitely be game of the year

I love your review and agree 100%. The only problem was the lawmen, in Saint Denis I would run up to my horse and press Y (xbox) and instead of getting on my horse it would choke someone and then three witnesses run away. At that point I would just surrender because it takes way too much time and money to run or fight the lawmen. I enjoy watching your videos of RDR2 and GTA5, keep up the good work.

3:38 wow your whole map would be completely full with the stranger missions you wouldn't even see other points of interests. it's a terrible idea when you think about it a lil longer

Keep practicing with those lawmen, you can defuse the situation in most cases if you accidentally bump into a NPC. I'm not really to good at intimidating witnesses as they usually end up dead.
Tutorials need a little tweaking, but thinking that might be what the strategy guide is for.
Glitches are there, haven't had any game breaking glitches yet. I figure I'm finding they're quite funny at times. I've done a few glitches one of course is the Limpny money glitch, which seriously you don't need to do everything is freaking cheap and if your an outlaw you robbing to get richer so people doing this money glitch must really suck at the game.
The other glitch I did was heading over to Mexico which there is nothing there (sorry, didn't mean to spoil that [actually nevermind I fine with spoiling that] )

How ever why nobody tells on u tube that rdr2 is so incredible that after you complete the main story that rdr2 is continuing that every thing you mis you play on and you can every thing that you want, and Rockstar did the unique thing the story go's on and on

Never played the first one and at first I wasn't to interested in this game mainly because of the setting but after watching your review and others I will eventually get this game for PC.

The police won’t trip if u stay put (small stuff only) they will walk up to u. When that happens defuse, and he will just ask u to leave.
The game is better than I expected. I play since day one and still haven't finished the main story because i take my time. I'm at 73% I believe and I play every day, a couple hours at least.
QUESTION: What did you think about the controls (auto aim) n what not?!

Those who didn’t like the first couple of hours in the snowy region they definitely don’t have a good taste on story and introduction of character bonding and all, the first couple of hours are the best introduction in video games when the background score plays along with the story is superb actually.
Sad part is people expect only shootings, heists mostly, and the game is not slow at all, when you have to introduce great unforgettable characters and their dialogues that’s how the game should be(in a slow pace). We don’t encourage this kind of games all we want is a action games where you’ll shoot and blow things up.
Sometimes appreciating the experiments would bring new games and gameplays in video game industry or else we have to end up playing Battle royal and zombie games.
There are too many gamers that are unpaciant. They don't do sidequest, don't explore the world, don't buy or change clothes, go to the barber. They just seek action abd get bored immediatley when the cutscenes take longer than a minute. And after finishing a mission they immediatley start the next one, but thats not how the game should be played.

I love this reveiw,its spot on,except 1 thing,(and it doesnt take away from the reveiw i just wana pay credit where credit is due) but zelda breath of the wild was the first game i know of that incorporated a heat/cold to appearel system
Good thing buddy. But actually Botw has graphics which don't require much work. So they got time to add these Details that everyone appreciates. But RDR2 has graphics like modern world games, and in fact, it is currently the best looking console game. So actually those type of graphics require much more work. And adding the details in those graphics, it will be appreciated more than animé graphics.

Good review...I disagree on showing random activities on the map at all times. Ubisoft does this and it's way too "video gamey".
I'm really glad that rockstar put in so much detail in this game. Although I really hope that mounted gun does not evolve into exploding rounds, or horses that have that machine gun on it's back. I doubt that will happen, but still a concern due to how GTAO turned out

Oh yes sir It does deserve it :D TO me it is the small things that always surprise me. Rockstar thought about almost everything. You know that I was avoiding camp for some time and Dutch sent Bill to check if I'm alive. I was so shocked and touched :D This game is my no 1, and it deserves GOTY/ But I would love to have some single player DLCs that let us take Arthur to all the red areas.

You don’t need to play rdr1 as it takes place after this game . Rdr2 is a prequel to the 1st one.

I played Gow 2018, did 2 play throughs and it was okay the first time. I didn’t expect me not to like it as much as I did because I’ve been a giant Kratos fan for so long. 2nd play through was awful. Hard to sit through and I don’t understand why I even went through and did it again. Had to sit through the same boring cutscenes every mission. When I played rdr2, I loved every minute of it. We’re talking about the gwme where horses balls shrink in cold weather, npcs each have their own daily routine that they follow, and so much more little details. I don’t understand how god of war came anywhere near close to red dead. Red dead should have blown Gow out of the game awards entirely

How big is the new map compared to GTA 5?
I am huge AC fan and i love AC Odyssey but man this game is must be GOTY. I never played before game that give you so much opportunities to do pretty much everything to interact with every NPC in game. I would say this is not just game of the year but perhaps game of the this generation of consoles.
When I played rdr2 I lagged a little bit but it’s only little and it’s not a big deal. I never played the first one but I loved rdr2. I would suggest you play rdr2 than rdr1.

This isn't the only game that you get cold and hot if you never played 7 days pro should try it.. But I do agree RDR2 is a great game should be game of the year hands down
I love this game
It's a good game but after seeing all the praise it got, I expected it to be better after I finished it. I didn't really enjoy it because the story was too slow as well as the gameplay and the overly realistic mechanics made the game not fun for me to play. I don't think it's a bad game but if you don't enjoy slow paced games, I wouldn't recommend it.

I would give it a 10/10. Red dead redemption 1 and 2 are also 10/10. Rockstar delivers time and time again.

Rockstar may have screwed up gta 5 online with micro transactions and maybe do so with red dead online but I must say they still know how to make a story

This game was amazing, and obviously it won't happen for a very long time, but when GTA 6 actually does become a thing, I really hope they put just as much detail in that game as they did for RDR 2, like for example, just like you need to get a gun off your horse, and can't just carry an infinite amount, in GTA 6 maybe the same thing, but obviously instead of a horse, the trunk of your car would hold your weapons
You get the point, that little bit of realism would be pretty cool in my opinion.
Yeah, a person can't carry infinite amount of guns at once. It makes that person overpowered.

Because rdr 2 is a beautiful world. But a modern world can never be beautiful, and it will be better only if it's fast paced.
@@geniusn8343 actually being overpowered is fun but doesn't apply for everything.For example take a mini gun, eventhough the mini gun is overpowered it is fun to use as we can kill everyone and go on a kill streak. To be honest GTA cannot become fast paced as the map is vast. And I'm pretty sure GTA 6 map will be even bigger.

Hey man, good review but you need to match the video with script. demonstrate basicaly. so if horses need to be taken care off, you need to show that. or you love the city at night, show a clip of that, etc.
