I don’t care how late it is. I don’t care how many people have already done it. I need a Tekken 8 video from you! Tutorials, character guides, anti character guides and etc, regardless I need it man😭 the content you push is truly valuable and underrated
An incredible start up guide for someone like me needing to find a new main for T8. Really hope you return to make content for the launch of T8 as you’ve easily got some of the best guides out there!! The way you break things down and production of the video is rare in the Tekken content creator space.
You are super good at explaining things. Some of your tutorials on movement and punishment changed the way I look at the entire game and I've been playing since tekken 5. Please keep doing videos, they are good enough to be included in the game.
I've just recently found your channel. Love the constructiveness and engagement of your videos, sir. Thank you so much for the guide, and please don't stop being awesome!
Never been this early for a beginner's guide - and for a character I'm interested in! Been playing Tekken for about a year, might switch away from Kazumi soon. Thanks, Peter!
Hey, just wanted to thank you for all your work into these guides. I know it's been about a solid year since you've posted last but just wanted to say that you've helped me out.
Just committed myself to Tekken yesterday. I initially started off with Akuma (mistake) but after 7 hours of labbing and getting my ass beat I decided it might be best to give someone else a shot. With weary eyes I went with dragunov, where I manage to pull of a couple sick sample combos before collapsing. the pure coincidence that this guide pops up in my feed the next day means its a sign.
I just picked up Tekken. Its my first fighting game ever. I picked Dragunov because he looked super cool and after this video I think he is even cooler. Thank you so much for this awesome guide, you were a great teacher! I will use this knowledge well! 😊
Drag main here. This is great advice for beginners! Wanted to add something though if I may. After the segment of wall punishes doing 9:00 if you’re far from the wall side step to an angle and if they go low you can ws 1,3 to wall bounce then you can wall carry further or to another wall for maximum damage, if there’s a wall break even and you’re in rage, could 80+ damage all from a low punish. I forget frames, but I know the animations for which work. But if you’re very close and you ws1,2 when they walk splat the opponents animation is VERY slow, you can side walk almost behind them and do almost a 180 full combo from the wall splat if you jab before they fall. All of this with his crouch cancels of course, you could also get wall depending on which level you’re on. I love this character. He’s so fun. Thanks for making this video! Love seeing support for my character 🥰🥰🥰
You are 100% correct on the sidestep into wall break / wall bounce. Walls in this game are ridiculous when it comes to damage and you can bounce from almost any angle now a days. It used to be you had to be straight on to get a bounce, but now, any angle will do lululululul.
@@PeterYMao since my friend is a dragunov main and has his challenges in using him, i figured i'd share this to him And since i learned a lot from your videos. Its always good to go back to a characters foundations.
Hey Peter, I'm a new player (keyword for: i have 950 hours in Tekken 7 lmao) and when I found your channel recently, I instantly subscribed. I really hope you get back into Tekken 8 and uploading videos when it comes out. Your videos are some of the best videos out there for new players or players coming from a 2D fighter background, and they're really, really valuable. I can't tell you how happy and at home they make an old head like me feel. If I saw you uploading again for Tekken 8, it'd make me so happy But even if you don't, I just hope you're doing good and you're happy, and that you know you're still helping people new to Tekken a whole lot. Cheers
Hey Peter! There is something you should have mentioned when you were talking about his rage drive. Dragunov can also cancel into a blue spark version of his tackle if it gets blocked and what I love the most about that is that it is actually inescapable. If Dragunov does blue spark tackle after rage drive and it hits you, you cannot break out of it. And what I love the most about it is that even if you overcommit to the tackle and it misses because you launched the opponent, you will actually recover from the tackle just in time to continue the combo. After learning about the blue spark tackle and its great utility, I think Dragunov might have one of the best rage drives in the game.
Dragunov's Rage drive is definitely good. I had forgotten to add the blue sparks in the script so by the time I had finished recording, editing the video it was too late. OOOOOps.
@@MrChickenboss Nope. Trust me. I have tried it, and I have seen replays where people try it, guess right, and still get hit. It's practically an unblockable if you think about. Now of course, it's not 100% unavoidable. You can jump over it, mash on it, or even rage art. So it's not OP either, but of course, if I know you are going to try something, I can just do the rage drive itself and not go for the tackle and instead jusy go for a frame trap. This is what I mean when I say that Dragunov's rage drive has pretty good utility and versatility. You can use it however you want and still get good results.
Good stuff. The only thing I think should also be mentioned is his tackle game. Sure it not something super important but is definitely way better than most characters.
Hi PYM ! you've time enough to learn WR2 Subscribed since .... many month but still appreciating your brilliant channel short, smiling and instructive pls continue

This is great! Drag is a character I've labbed once or twice, so this will definitely help. Gotta say, that instant WR2 is a bit harder than I thought it would be.
I've been labbing Dragunov for quite a bit and thought I knew most but I learned so much watching this. You've become an essential part of my labbing routines and thank you very much for making the whole process a lot easier! Cheers!
It's worth noting that you have to hold down back to get b2 to actually high crush like you would in a normal full crouch state. Tyler2k had a video about this bug a while back, and I believe it affects some other moves as well.
Hi Peter, your channel is excellent and I've watched just about everything on here. I always recommend you to newcomers. Having said that, would you consider organizing it into playlists? Great guide. I love the fact that you stress not focusing on iwr. I feel with Tekken people focus too heavy on advanced techniques other than fundamentals. I think it would have been nice to mention the rage drive tackle
I personally don't like the rage drive tackle as I've never seen JDCR use it in a competitive tournament so I can only imagine that it's not that great. Also, I'm happy to know we are both in agreement on the fact that newer players should not be focusing on WR+2 :)
I swear I've seen JDCR use it once but can't recall if it was at the we play tournament or just messing around on stream. Either way that makes sense. Not the most important tool but a unique option.
Just gonna drop some personal notes of mine here: b4,3 is a good fast sidestep whiff punisher His generic 2 break can sideswitch both successfully and when broken f1+2 can be a little slow to whiff punish at times, so b3 is sometimes better at range 1.5 or so to whiff punish His CH game isn't terrible, but could be better. 4,3 into stomp does almost 60 damage by itself, only -12 on block b2,1,3 and b4,2,1 can be amazing noob killers at lower ranks, when used correctly u/f+3 is a great tool at the wall because it's fast, low crushes, and wallsplats 4,4 is a frametrap, and can catch a lot of people pressing after it Supposedly 1,2,1 can be CH confirmed, but it's pretty hard lol
These are all great notes. Only thing I would amend is that 1,2,1 can not be fully CH hit confirmed. It's only situational, if it is clear that you saw the opponent hit while you hit then it can "kinda of" be hit confirmed. Otherwise if you are not catching them in the start up frames, but rather in the recovery frames then the last hit can be blocked. But thanks for the notes :)
