    Can you automate this parameter? It would be very nice to map them to a midi controller and jam along with this magnificent drummer!!!

      Unfortunately not. But we agree that automating that feature would be really neat. Thanks for watching!

      ya it would be as simple as something like adding a right click function and midi map/learn for cc commands!

    nice tutorial one question though, I have Ableton 9 and addictive drums 2
    and I'm really bad at drawing drums, however, I like the variations in
    ad2 but the second I change the one I am using it modifies the entire
    drum track, is there any way to create different variations and save
    them separately so I can use them to add really small nuances into the
    track? p.s passing it as a wave file wont work on ableton

      Hi there,
      Glad to hear from you. Please explain what you mean with "it modifies the entire drum track". When you pull a MIDI loop from AD2 into your DAW, it should be fairly easy to edit it in the piano roll directly. Is this not working for you?
      Are you interested in saving back these edited variation of the MIDI loops in AD2?

    • @lloydvallentine2
      @lloydvallentine2 7 лет назад

      XLN Audio thank you for your quick reply my question could be simplified and what i meant to ask is how do you save a modified variation of fabric loops? Ad drums 2 doesnt allow me to drag multiple wave files of the same loop with different kit arangments,transformations etc into ableton

    • @xlnaudio
      @xlnaudio  7 лет назад

      Hi again,
      I'm afraid you can't save the edits you've done in the Transform section of AD2. The actual kit arrangements can be saved as a preset in the top left preset browser. Is that not working for you?
      Regarding saving MIDI loops, I'm afraid you'll need to export the new MIDI file from Ableton Live as a .mid file. Then put the file in the External MIDI folder. You can find your way there via the top right question mark in AD2 and click "Open External MIDI folder". Remember to also click "Refresh MIDI Library".
      Let me know if you need further help.

    Thank you! I own many adpacks and midi packs. I was looking for a way to swing beats (cf swing in Cubase or Reaper quantize).
    Transform does not really swing beats, if I understood well. Maybe in Addictive 3.
    Of course I can swing beats in Cubase and Reaper and record them back in Addictive or import as midi.

    • @xlnaudio
      @xlnaudio  2 года назад

      Hi, no the transform tab doesn't really add swing. There are swing beats available in the Core Library of MIDI that comes with AD2, you can search for Swing Beat on the BEATS page. However there is currently no real way to alter non-swing beats to swing. I will share this with the AD2 product team as a feature request.

    A where the hell is the external midi folder ?????? Iv followed what was in the manual and still can't find it. Why did they take the feature from the ? .it was easy to find now you have to start looking in you comp c/drive and still can't find it.

      Hi there. Your External MIDI Folder should be here: \Documents\Addictive Drums 2\External MIDI Files. Are you unable to locate the "Open External MIDI Folder" option in the "?-menu" in AD2?

    Can you affect complexity of fills like you can in Logic Pro X?

    • @xlnaudio
      @xlnaudio  4 года назад +1

      To a certain degree, you also have the possibility to import the beats into Logic and use Logic's(or your DAW of preference) MIDI sequencer to edit the beat there.

    Is there anyway to set a custom tempo on the beat within the AD2 interface?

    • @xlnaudio
      @xlnaudio  6 лет назад

      Yes there is. If you are running Addictive Drums 2 as a standalone, you'll be able to adjust the tempo manually.

    • @richd7202
      @richd7202 6 лет назад

      I cannot seem to find it on the Addictive Drums 2 standalone software, Can you tell me where this adjustment is?

    • @xlnaudio
      @xlnaudio  6 лет назад

      Hi Rich,
      You can edit the tempo in the "Beats" section. Click "Sync Tempo" to de-active it, then click and drag on the tempo BPM (the actual number value). Does it work?

    • @richd7202
      @richd7202 6 лет назад

    what accent is doing? is it just changing attack??

    • @xlnaudio
      @xlnaudio  7 лет назад

      Hi there,
      Accent is changing the Velocity on the MIDI notes resulting in different "accents" and feelings of the groove.

    How do i change the tempo?

    • @xlnaudio
      @xlnaudio  3 года назад

      Hi, if you are running the stand alone version then click the sync button and it will let you set a tempo, if you are using the plug-in version it will be connected to the host's tempo. If you have any further questions about this, don't hesitate getting in touch with our support team: www.xlnaudio.com/support

    This App Doesn't let you change the BPM?????

    • @xlnaudio
      @xlnaudio  11 месяцев назад

      Sure you can! Sorry for the confusion. When you're running it in standalone you can change the BPM on the BEATS page. When it's loaded as a plug-in in a DAW (like Logic, Ableton Live, Pro Tools etc) you can change the BPM in the DAW instead.

    It is amazing to me that they charge so much money for this program and you can't do something as simple and change if the snare hits on the down or the up.

    This is proving to be a huge time waster. If you want to use their pre-programmed beats, I guess it's OK...if you want to create your own, it takes forever. I know I can go into the MIDI track and move stuff around...we did that in the 80's. This program is pretty useless for a songwriter or composer. It forces you into XLN's paradigm. How about if you want an odd-time signature? It's too bad because it sounds great and you can engineer nice sounding drums from it. But give me my Linndrum. I could program a song in about 15 minutes including fills, repeats, breaks, everything....

      Why not use your DAW sequencer to knock out a fast beat or better still your keyboard controller or pad controller? These and what's described here all have their place and time to use. It is very flexible.
