Your analysis is distorted regarding the last 2 years. Yes Kerr was a great coach 8 of the last 10 years, but the last two years he has lost many more games than he should have with the talent this team had!! Klay has lost a step or two on defense and Wiggins has lost his edge and consistency the last two seasons. This year Kerr continued to play them as closers in the 4th quarter with games on the line, when younger / taller Warriors with better plus/minus averages (Much better rim protection) sat on the bench and the Warriors steadfastly gave up 20 point leads and lost. Kerr lost at least 12 games in the regular season doing this (poor coaching) and returned to this in the play-in to assure the Warriors lost. Without rim protection (Like Trace brings), teams just have to penetrate the paint so the entire defense collapses to the paint and our opponents get wide open three attempts. Please note all of the games that Warriors opponents had their best 3-point shooting performances of the year against us. Kerr has no learning curve and stubbornly plays the worst players at the worst time. If Thompson stays with the Warriors, we will repeat this years result and lose un-necessary games that we should have won, because Kerr can't help himself and will play the slowest least effective defensive players when the game is on the line. When I saw Kerr say that the plus minus metric is over rated, I knew he was clueless, since Klay and Wiggs have not performed as well nor consistently on defense the past 2 seasons. Only injuries and suspensions forced Kerr to play the better players (Kuminga and Trace). Kerr's stubbornness, absent-learning curve and abandoned regard for defense and rim protection guaranteed the Warriors failure this year and will continue if he does not take defense, rim protection and playing the best defenders as priorities when the game is on the line. Unfortunately Kerr's comments indicate that he has not learned anything from his failure the past two years and he intends to stubbornly manage in the same manner with Klay/Wiggs closing and Trace/Kuminga on the bench.

I have never heard Kerr say that plus/minus is overrated. I did hear him say that plus/minus must be viewed over many games.
