Just had to add this to my collection of Full Game Walkthroughs. I loved this game back in the day and still remains my favourite Driver game! The atmosphere was just perfect, from the colourful, joy-ride feel of the 70s, the to gritty and dark revenge plot of 2006 - I think it handled it really well. This also has some of the best drive-by shooting mechanics of any crime game and satisfying driving physics to go with it. Underrated story, great soundtrack, huge New York map and fun, car-wrecking driving make this a classic for me. Enjoy!
They could have made an amazing game by combining driv3r's physics and damage with parallel line's setting and plot. But they didn't, so instead of 1 good driver, we got 2 flops...
While I'll always be a fan of the OG trilogy featuring Tanner, this side series of Parallel Lines and '76 was very refreshing. Fun period pieces, challenging missions, and a different story in the same universe. Pretty cool in hindsight once you realize Parallel Lines and the OG Driver and 3 all canonically only take place a few years apart in both eras. Would like to see them try a different story with different periods again. Really fun series.
Ehh I remember playing this a long time ago. I was still in school and had no worries. Homework, school, coming home, playing this. I liked to drive around. It was one of the most fun open world driving games I had.
I remember walking to a video store way back in 2007 and seeing this game, bought it and literally ran home to play. Fell in love with the game my favorite song in the game is "I'm addicted to speed it's taking control of me" true nostalgia. Thank you for this.
@@SeriousDragonify Police database at Corrigan's Office says otherwise, his name is Terry "The Kid" Kiddums, The Kid is just an alias / nickname he incorporated in the criminal underworld.
It was the first time I saw something like that i a video game. I was impressed and glad that I selected all the most gorgeous looking old cars to store in the garage and still had'em.
The time period in which a game is set is very important to me. More games need to take place in the 70s or 80s or even earlier. There is such a charm to those eras.
The song "Street Lady" replaces Marvin Gaye's "Trouble Man" in the cutscene where TK meets Slink, but Marvin Gaye's song was never removed from the game. It can also be heard in Driver '76.
I love the version of Trouble Man in this, it’s different to the original album version from the 70s, they used the 1995 remix version. It’s such a vibe when driving around at sunset with the purple sky!
This game is a masterpiece, brings back happy memories. I’ll give a list why this game is so good: - The soundtrack - Atmosphere - Story - TK’s character development - The ability to switch between 70’s and 00’s - Fun to cruise around New York - Plenty of side jobs and three race circuits to race on - Wide range of vehicles - Customisation at Ray’s auto shops - Police system (Separate meters for both TK and the vehicle itself.)
I LOVE what you did at 3:31:25 mark. I hope one day this game & Driver 2 gets remade Thanks for doing another playthrough of this. I always felt this game should've had a limited TV series. As many times as I've been to NYC over the years. This game has it spot on with it's scenery. 3:29:43 mark, TK's facial expressions always got next to me. It felt so cold after beating this game's final mission. No more Ray, everything looks cold / blue
Thanks, just had to make an ontro to end things nicely! It does end on an "empty" feeling a bit like GTA IV. You've lost everyone and now have no purpose...which is fitting for the gritty 2006 feel. It's good that you can go back to 1978 to get a nice cheerful dose.
Here's the classic. I also played this game until I lost my disc somewhere. I only had the empty box and that one disappeared for some reason, but I probably still have it on my shelf. I like the PS2 camera mod :)
Been watching your channel since i was like 10 years old man, glad to see you’re still doing your thing man keep it up! I use to fight my cousin taking turns playing on the ps2 playing this game 😂
That last scene edit you did? T.K standing on the same place but the era changes... that was a nice touch.. it never got boring for the hours I played it. Love the walkthrough as well, it does take me back to the 2006 PS2 era when I originally played it.. just messing around and enjoying myself with the racing, side missions and the fun you have winding up the police.. P.S... I still play this game today on PC.. the memories live on 18 years later.
I never had anything to do with the 70s or New York City itself, but I love this game and the ambience. Everything is perfectly captured and the soundtracks adds a very special feeling to it.
Glad I'm not the only one! I do love all the main Driver games though, especially Driv3r. However Parallel Lines is just the one I connected with the most.

this game is still such a beautiful open world, soundtrack and story. such a great idea to split into two eras. gameplay aside from driving still a bit below GTA which is probably why its a bit "forgotten" compared to those, but a classic game to me. i so wish driver series continued on these tracks instead of weirdness of driver:sf and inevitable death of franchise.
