This is the same transmission that is in the 2019 QX50. This is the new XTRONIC CVT. Here is a great article from INFINITI explaining the new transmission: global.infinitinews.com/en/channels/channel-96b987569e414a5141d0db3c39000aad Also the QX55 did get a new torque converter and software for the transmission, my hope is that it we see it in the QX50 in the future.
I just put my hands on a QX55, it doesn't have power folding mirrors. I agree, the QX55 should have it! Especially when INFINITI Q50 and Q60 have it now.
@@DanMikeWardInfiniti yes me too specially the QX55 infotainment system , in my humble opinion the QX55 is the best coupé SUV style EVER built from any brands in the automotive industry . I hope for the mid cycle refresh Infinity give you an update infotainment system and get rid of the CVT transmission 🤞🏾. Sir your reviews are very informative like always you are killing it . Great job 👏
CVT transmission in a luxury SUV? So let me ask a question are you expecting top dollars for a top Luxury SUV that have a garbage transmission? Only people that have no knowledge about cars will buy that piece a junk
@@DanMikeWardInfiniti I have. Power delivery is not smooth and is inconsistent. Paddle shifters have lag, and feel bizarre considering there are no physical gears. I would be curious to see how this engine would work with a conventional automatic. Parents leased one, didn’t like it either and turned it in early. Got a Venza. Of course it’s a hybrid, but the power delivery is more linear, and is what should be in a $60k luxury car. Regardless, the interior of the autograph in terms of quality is great. Exterior is also striking too. Powertrain improvements or electrification and improved displays will greatly help the QX50 and 55. But overall great overview video! :)
Loving my 2019 QX50, looking forward to trading it up for a 2023 QX50!
Thank you for the information. It really helps when trying to decide on which Infinit to go with. I absolutely love this vehicle. Thank you
Well put together and very informative as always! Well done Dan!
Thank you! Much appreciated!
Such a gorgeous car. The power folding mirrors will add more street presence.
Yes! Street presence! I like that!
Really??
Does it have ambient lights?
Thanks for the question! The 2022 QX50 does not have ambient lighting. It's available on the all new 2022 QX60 though!
@@DanMikeWardInfiniti it does have ambient but you cant adjust it and the light is very dim located at door and below the ash wood
Does the 2022 Luxe have Appearance package option?
It does! For $1,200 you get the following:
20-inch, black-painted and machine-finished wheels
Black outside mirror caps
Heated outside mirrors
Black grille mesh
Dark chrome front grille surround
Dark chrome front fender accent
Dark chrome liftgate finisher
Body color rear diffuser
Graphite headliner
Thanks for the comment!
Beautiful car but man I’ll stick with my corky 17 QX50 true sport crossover.
I love the 3.7L V6 of the 2017 QX50 and older, wolf in sheep's clothing. Awesome car!
What transmission is mated with this engine?
It has the latest CVT transmission. Thanks for the question!
@@DanMikeWardInfiniti when you say the latest CVT, what is the difference between this one and the 2019?
CVT.

They added power folding mirrors to the QX50 but not Qx55? Makes no sense but I guess they figured the looks of QX55 will sell itself

Beautiful SUV , but the infotainment system makes the interior look like 1990 vehicles. What’s up with that Infinity?
My thoughts exactly! My hope is that we see the infotainment from the new QX60 and QX80 trickle into the QX50. Thanks for the comment.

great looking car, all Infiniti needs to do is change the interior to the same as new QX60, and they will sell more!
I totally agree!
Nice and sexy. But a money pit. Take away the turbo. Then your on to something new. 👍🇺🇲

Yes and yes.
Terrible cvt engine
Have you driven the current generation of the QX50? It works very well, especially with the paddle shifters. Thanks for watching!
