After episode 1 I thought "Oh, I'll like this show!" After episode 2 I thought "Ok I'll REALLY LIKE this show!" Light on his own would've been interesting to watch, but L's introduction really adds to it!
Yeah you were saying he shouldn't use heart attacks for everybody... I assume so he wouldn't be caught by L... but in the first episode ryuk asks why he only wrote a description of the death for the guy hit by the truck... Light tells him he wants the world to know of his existence, even if its a weakness, he wants them to know judgement is passed and that in itself has value to him
Think the trick of making mind blowing writing is that as a writer you can do things in reverse order. Braking a egg is not hard, but magically assembling thousands of egg shards into a perfect complete egg sounds impossible. So when making stuff like this, you just need to work backwards, tho im not here saying coming up with those ideas is any less impressive XD
Haha, I did a double degree at University and I specialised in writing. I know the techniques which is why I’m so impressed when people can do them to this extent, it’s awesome.
@@JentWatches This kind of technique (showcasing parts of the whole and it all makes sense progressively/retrospectively) was also employed in my favourite web novel of all times: Wisher Beware (its on Scribblehub). Although in the case of Wisher Beware, we are simply thrown into it without preamble in the first chapter and for the first couple chapters it felt as if I was reading a low-quality novel from someone who doesn't even know proper English. But later when the story progresses and the reason for that way of writing is revealed, it just blows my mind. And the author of Wisher Beware is not just good at writing. His general knowledge is also off the charts. For example, his understanding of Mathematics: I am a Mechanical Engineer and so I've had to study some pretty hefty maths, stuff like Ricci Calculus. And after all that studying, I began to look at Maths in a completely new light. And the author of Wisher Beware has that same level of understanding of "what is mathematics". And he explains it rather well. And not just maths, even other stuff. . I myself want to try writing a web novel one day and Wisher Beware is my go to source to learn how to do it. Its a massive benchmark. In some ways, I felt more impressed than I was with G.R.R. Martin.
