Thanks for this tutorial I’m doing a woodland journal at present and love the idea x
Thanks so much! It does help. I love the look of the heat gun edge. I appreciate it. No worries on the wait!❤️
kimberly norman thanks honey! I love that charred look too!
What a neat way to get that look!! Thanks for sharing! Listening to your videos makes me home-sick. I love your Southern accent!...Linda
The heat gun is genius! Thank you for sharing. this is the exact look we were trying to get.
Thank you so much! I have a heat gun and I'm working on a project. I really hope that this is going to work for me. I need something that is going to be a little neater than what I can achieve with the lighter.🥰😘❤️❤️🥰
Let me know how it goes.
Hi Belinda. I loved this quick, easy, Show n Tell! I just looove the way these pages turned out. Your a great instructor!

You are excellent! Thank you so much!
Very good tutorial. I've tried to distress old comic books using a tea stain technique but it usually takes several coats. Now I know how to make my comic books look like they've been in a house fire!😃
Glad you found it useful and thanks for watching!
Thank you for doing this tutorial and your time .
Thank YOU for watching! Hope it was helpful

Vani Kurup I love the smoky charred look the best too!
Brilliant I love that.
Does it work with a hair dryer?
I don’t think a hair dryer will get hot enough. You need something like a heat gun that will really get hot hot hot … and please please be careful!
Cool effect
Thank you that was pretty interesting for me have to try it ...tfs 👍
2nd Chance Creations By Christa thank you!
Mod podge. ❤️
hi .. question: what kind of paper did you use? can you use any form of paper? ty
You can. Some of my paper is hand made. Some is copier paper and some may even be card stock. …. Depends on the result I want to achieve. The paper will all burn … the amount of time under direct heat will be the variable. Just experiment and be safe.
hahah the brush
I know right?? Let it never be said you can’t make top rate journals with fall apart equipment! 😂
What did uh used to protect the edges?
You can rub a little modge podge on with your finger. It coats and protects the paper.use matte finish if u have it. It maintains the aged look. Shiny rarely looks old. I always want my papers to look authentic.
i tried this and my whole page caught on fire .-.
Honey U have to burn just the edges. And if you’ll watch again you’ll see how I say to let it burn just a little then use your paper towel or rag to tamp out the flame. Only let it burn briefly until u get comfortable controlling the flame. My goodness I’m so glad you’re ok. Please be careful. It seems like such a small thing but even a tiny flame can get out of control quickly. You didn’t burn yourself did you ?
Thank you!
Kathy E. You’re welcome. Thanks for watching!
