Hi Christine, super random but I love the fact that you're letting your white hairs grow out and not coloring them. I'm currently working on my design senior thesis which is an exploration on women's relationship with their head hair and realized that a lot of women are super self conscious about the dreaded "white hairs" but I think there's an individual beauty to it. So definitely props to you for owning those white beauties!

Vitamin C actually protects your skin from sun damage because of its antioxidant properties. It works with your sunscreen to protect you during the day, so it's best to use in the morning.

You've actually turned me onto the Origins Essence Lotion, and I'm ever so grateful! My skin is highly sensitive so I've tried a plethora of products but once I tried the essence, my skin has balanced out and is much more supple. Its scent is enticing and so is the price, thanks!

You should try the Aztec clay mask with apple cider vinegar! I bought mine at whole foods for $8 and even though it says you can mix it with water or vinegar I find that vinegar works best. It's one of the most effective masks I've ever tried!

Usually you should use vitamin c serums during the day to protect against free radical damage from sun and pollution. Retinols are used at night because the sun makes them less effective. Love your videos!

Thank you for this video. I love that you put together a more easily accessible guide for people to create their Korean skincare routines with. I am also OBSESSED with Korean skincare and always ordering stuff is a huge pain in the ass.
Also, vitamin C is actually good to use during the day, especially in LA, because it's a pollution ninja (it protects your skin against oxidative stress)!

  • @twistedbeeauty32

Not to sure if this is true but Ive read that a vitamin C serum will counteract any harmful effect of the sun and also decrease the chances of skin cancer by thickening the dermis layer. So the vitamin c serum acts as a sun barrier from within the skin but you still need to put sunscreen over it. So it should be okay during the day if you use sunscreen!

I really respect the way you make these videos. I've just watched your korean-based routine as well and it's so helpful how you explain each product and your experiences, instead of just where it goes in your routine - but do so in a way that feels neither dragged-out nor rushed! My not so 10 steps korean skincare routines is:
    1. Heimish cleansing Balm
    2. COSRX good morning face wash
    3. Klairs toner
    4. COSRX snail essence
    5. Olay moisturizer
And from time to time i like using clay mask cause my face can clogged easily, my favorite clay mask so far is Aztec mask. Everything is affordable but it actually really good quality product! Beside that almost everything I buy last me almost a year, so it's hella cheap 😈

You can wear vitamin C during the day bc it'll kind of enhance what your spf is doing. Its an anti oxidant that helps protect you from free radical damage so it works really well in conjunction with your spf!

  • @MissFancySchmancy

Vitamin C should be used for sun protection in addition to lightening up hyperpigmentation. You are right about avoiding citrus oils for daytime use because they are really photosensitizing. You can use Vitamin C in the morn and it helps boost the effectiveness of your sunscreen. Hope this helps!

It sounds weird I'm sure, but lately I've taken to using the original Balm Dot Com as an eye cream, at night only. I think the impulse stemmed from the idea that petroleum jelly is good for eyelashes, and since BDC has a bunch of actually nourishing, natural ingredients in it too, I figured I'd give it a shot. Anyway, fast forward a few weeks and you know what... I actually love it! Since it's so thick, a tiny bit goes a long way, so it feels economical. Plus I've noticed my eyes look a lot smoother, brighter, and my eyelashes feel less fragile than before. This may just be because I hadn't been putting anything on my eyes before this, but hey. I figured I'd mention it since you said you don't own an eye cream, and since BDC is something you have already and like. ^^

Vitamin C strips the skin so you should always put loads of SPF if you use it regularly, so it doesn't really matter what time you use it as long as you wear lots of sun protector on top during the day!

Vit C serum actually has sun-blocking properties so it should be used in the day time. But not all Vit C serums are formulated correctly, PH level and the Vit C ingredient that is used is super important. Serums from Klairs and Korres among others are not effective because of that...

I have a question about the double cleansing method. I know that the oil cleansing routine is use first and helps remove makeup, but I found make-up wipes at an organic store that contains nothing but natural ingredients of oils for an affordable price (I tried a sample back and it wipe off my makeup quickly). I was wondering if I can use the make-up wipes instead of an oil cleanser or a cleansing balm remover? I have yet to try any form of the Korean Double Cleansing method, but I have tried Korean products.

You know what? I don't have a reason for that...I guess I just never really have them around so I just don't use them to be honest

I know for myself, I don't like using cotton rounds bc I feel like it wastes product! Also, skipping the cotton rounds and just spraying/patting the toner onto my face makes the whole skincare process feel a bit faster & more efficient~ ((but it's mainly bc I'm lazy haha))

You can find the ingredients for a lot of Korean products on cosdna.com. Can't wait to see your Korean skincare video. (:

I've been watching a ton of your videos lately haha I love them! If you're looking for a good daytime serum, try Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate. I'm sure they'd give you a sample if there's a store by you :) I've been using it every day & loving it.
    love your content!

Floris Wang I honey has helped me clear my scars so much! Almost every night after washing my face I put honey on my scars and leave it on for 15+ minutes. Also using rosehip oil as a night time moisturizer and aloe vera under my moisturizer 2× a day has helped me so so so much! And of course, always use spf

I highly recommend rosehip oil. I use it every night and I've seen a huge improvement. My skin is so soft (like a baby's ass)
and even. Like dude, it's amazing results for being the only product I use at night after I wash my face. If you do decide to try it, I suggest getting one that is natural and organic.

Christine! You need to check out The Ordinary (ordinaries.com) I just got serums from them but they are a fraction of the price and still sleek and minimalistic. They are gorgeous! Formulation is a bit stickier than Glossier but honestly it goes matte pretty quickly. Just thought you might like to check it out! Love your videos

I live in the Philippines and the korean store that is close to my house is TheFaceShop which is cheaper than other korean brands.have you seen this video from joan keem? ruclips.net/video/xpmuCZ5fZFE/видео.html this is also an informative video
