You are by faaaaaaaaar the cleanest person to the point where I wanted to start talking junk at you but really like I would say thanks for your effort but really that’s TOO LITTLE FOR WHAT YOU REALLY DESERVE FOR doing so much for us ❤🎉😊
As always love your work. I know you said you won't be fully bracing, but all our moulds, even small items were boxed with wood , simply for QOL , made buffing , and every step easier because they wouldn't move around, also we had holes for release with air. Chainsaw wedges are also excellent for release.
Yeah I was debating adding a couple "legs" to the sideskirt moulds so that it would sit flat on a table, but these moulds ended up so heavy that they barely move around at all. But the crazy thing is I recently went through a few of my moulds and refurbished them and all the ones that had wood bracing ended up warping. I used to work as a building contractor and the quality of the timber here is absolutely shocking, even when I got the most expensive treated stuff I could, it still ended up bending and twisting my moulds. I've used air to release my moulds in the past but I've found I have no real need for it these days, lately I barely even go around the whole flange before the part comes out.
I’ve been looking to design a wide body kit for my ford streetka so looking around for pointers as I’m new to it and found your vids . Impressive skills dude , lots and lots of work but your results speak for themselves you really know your stuff and your attention to detail is amazing ! Super job enjoyed the vid and learned a lot 👍
Just have to say mate, as a long time watcher/subscriber of yours, and an even longer collector of Hot Wheels, congrats on having your Miata chosen as your round winner !!!! 🤘 Cant wait to have the mini version a part of my collection 😊$
hi, I'm applying a glass wool with a density of 100 to the first layer of the matrix. it fits perfectly on the corners without leaving even small bubbles.
Great idea to make longer videos from more material. Sometimes, people want to see more of the processes such as the hiccups, mistakes, and production flaws, too. Looking great, brother.
Cheers mate, that was my thinking yeah. I figured I'd just film everything and make the video as long as it needs to be and people can just skip through it if they want or watch the whole thing. I find a lot of people appreciate having every single step shown so they can follow the process.
The quality of not only work but content you put out is inspiring! Im currently working on a custom bumper for my Miata and watching you make these molds almost makes me want to make a mold of the bumper once its done and make a Carbon version for myself lol Keep up the good work brother.
Absolutely great work man! I respect the amount of work going into these molds, not to mention the work to make an entertaining video. Thanks dude! Keep it up!
Love your work! For pinholes I usually use sprayable body filler, its even easier to sand then regular body filler. Only downside is that you need to let it cure for 5h minimum, so its a little bit more time consuming. And basically its as good as primer when you sand it down for mould making.
Thanks for the suggestion! I've actually been looking into a sprayable filler to replace the final skim coat I do. I'm currently using a super high build filler primer which works pretty good. I do love how quick this glazing putty sets though when filling pinholes. By the time I have finished applying it to the part it's already dried on the first pinholes so I can just finish the whole process without having to wait. It's great.
Amazing work and a lot learned just from watching all your videos. Can't wait to see more and if you do pursue this as a business I wish u well and success because your work is too notch and I hope that I could be even half as good as you are when I get started on my parts
👍🏻 Absolutely f**king love this channel. So relaxing to watch and the subtle little jokes that go unnoticed by most are hilarious. Keep up the great work and creativity bro! 👏🏻
Being that I do fiberglass. I am far from making moulds or designing something to make a mould. But there is a bunch of us weirdos that love crvs. We need things 😂 they have zero for a body kit or a wide body. We have to be crafty and find parts from another car and chop it up to make it fit.
Too much from good shit, is bad shit... take a Brake, load your batteries and come back strong again... love your work, skills and your detailing... good Job bro...👍👍👍
When you take breaks and do other stuff, does dust become an issue with the buffed surfaces? Also, I can’t imagine how your skin must feel after all this fiberglass work.
What is the benefits with using sealer over paint? Is it worth the time with having to sand all the way to 3000? No critique, just a question :) Loving this build!!!
In my old video you'll see that I used a 2 part epoxy primer as my sealer and what happens with the tooling gelcoat and resin is the heat combined with the styrene that is produced from the moulding process attacks the top layer of the plug. Even with almost 10 layers of wax and PVA, the epoxy still reacted with the gelcoat and caused the plug to stick to the mould. The polyester based sealer is made from effectively the same material as the gelcoat and so it sets to a similar hardness and has much better chemical resistance. As you can see it definitely pays off with how easily these parts released from the moulds. All of them but the sideskirts came straight off before I'd even finished applying wedges to all the perimeter. The reason I sand to 3000 is because I like a high gloss finish on my mould surface as this means that the parts I make will release incredibly easily and save me a lot of time. The benefits with a high gloss mould are that you also don't need to rely on PVA as a release agent and for all of my seasoned moulds, I can apply a single layer of wax and polish it off before spraying gelcoat and get a perfect release every time. Why I sand the plugs and not the moulds, is it's usually easier to sand plugs than to try and sand inside a mould.
What a legend ! Could have just gone down to you local and ripped afew election signs down for some free corflut haha but anyway what an incredible job your efforts are seen !
Love your videos mate!❤ Im curious, what is the reason to use a filler on corners? Is it to avoid trapped air? You mix the poliester resin with hardener and add the filler?
Absolutely loving this series! Your workmanship is amazing!
You are by faaaaaaaaar the cleanest person to the point where I wanted to start talking junk at you but really like I would say thanks for your effort but really that’s TOO LITTLE FOR WHAT YOU REALLY DESERVE FOR doing so much for us ❤🎉😊
so much work....now I understand why the good quality widebody kits are so expensive. Love your work. keep on going. best regards from germany
Astounding work!
I've yet to spot ANY shortcuts you've taken in the whole process.
Its all honest-to-goodness, thorough, quality workmanship.
36:30 :D
I love this series. I cannot wait to see the finished kit on the car.
Мужик ты крут, столько упорства я еще не видел.

The molds are looking stellar, and holy crap that's a lot of sanding! Even more than usual!
Been waiting for this video all day, addicting build series bro!
Thanks man, always cool to hear!
#metoo
Looks awesome as, something like this needs to be showcased at a show like sema or the Tokyo auto salon!

That's the neatest fiberglass work I have ever seen!!!!! Greetings from Kenya.
Quel travail de fou... 😱 superbe boulot. Un grand bravo. 👏👏👏
Its mindblowing how much work goes into this project, i cannot wait to see how everything turns out!!!
You're a craftsman and and artist, no word a lie. It's an education watching you work. Thanks, and stay safe. ✌🇦🇺

great work man, ima head back and watch the other video's i missed. i cant wait to see the finished product.
This man sweeps up all his loose fiberglass trimmings and paints it green to make a lawn and I think that's beautiful. 🥲
I just spent the last 25 hours on a train and it sucked. Your incredible work has made me feel a bit better
Sorry to hear that, but glad these videos could help you out.
お疲れ様です!

So much work, but the prep paid off. Well done!

Awesome watched the video at one breath ❤️🔥
Top notch work! As a mold maker myself the only critique I would have is your clothing options. How do you not itch like crazy?!?!

love your attention to detail. so know I suppose its all to do for the left side ? or do you have a quicker way to "copy and paste" ?
When you take breaks and do other stuff, does dust become an issue with the buffed surfaces? Also, I can’t imagine how your skin must feel after all this fiberglass work.
