  • Sometimes we want to find a product or a solution to what we are dealing with and there isn't one. Sometimes there are things we can do that may enhance our current situation or even bring hair back that we thought may be gone forever. But, it's important to first recognize if this issue is something that can be changed or if it's something you have to learn to accept.
Density: The amount of hair you have per sq inch on your head. This determines whether your hair looks thick or thin. If your hair has always been thin, there is not a product that will make it thick and super full.
Texture: coarse or fine. This tells you the thickness or fineness of your hair strand. If the hair is fine then that's what it is, if it's thick, that's what it is.
If you have struggled with trying to find a product to make your hair thicker, especially if you are dealing with visible thinning on the scalp or bald spots, you should see a dermatologist first so you can get a clear picture of your scalp and follicles. Don't go out buying a ton of products, they will not work until you find the root cause.

I love the way you speak about hair. No one texture, density or curl gets more love than another. All are spoken of highly and treated with respect.

I agree sort of... I've always had a head full of thick hip length coilly 4c hair. After having covid, massive weight loss, and I'm sure having lupus is a contributing factor, my nails started splitting and becoming very thin and brittle and so did my hair. My hair was so thick, people swore my hair was fake. My ponytail now is a quarter of the usual size. So while I agree that you can't turn your hair into what you weren't born with, sometimes there are circumstances that causes changes that can be changed/fixed with the right solutions.

Same here. My nails aren’t the problem but my hair has thinned the same as you, 1/4 of what it used to be. I miss my super thick hair. Can grow my hair to my thigh but it’s no where near as thick as it used to be😢

No, your hair texture can change. As a child and most of my life, I had really thick hair. When I got colon cancer and I had chemo and lost all of my hair, when it grew back in my hair now is fine. No where nearly as thick. I use to complain about my thick hair and now I wished I still had it. So whatever hair you have be thankful.

Yes. Thats what she is saying. Products "ENHANCE" what a person already has growing out of their scalp. Having good application/technique helps with the outcome of the style.

So short thin 4C will always be that. The man haircut is the easiest option. Wigs and weaves for those who wish it was something else.

I had thick 4C hair all over, but I have damage to the crown due to sitting under the dryer for rollerbset styles. Is there any way to repair that damaged area of scalp so that the hair will begin to grow again?

Weight loss surgery causes hair to thin. Once you gain weight or keep up with vitamins the hair stops shedding and grows back
