Fun Fact: Brian single-handedly fished the coelacanth to extinction during this challenge. He is the reason they implemented the once-per-session encounter limit in Doubutsu no Mori e+.
@@ExperiencersInternational Nope, I believe the only game to receive that silly "feature" was e+. Instead of balancing the spawn mechanics the devs settled on the "if it spawns, don't spawn it again until the game is reset" mechanic. You can actually have it spawn, not even see it, and then wonder where it is for the rest of your play session.
it's so cool learning about niche things like the period in which sea bass don't ever spawn, it seems like I'll never stop learning new things about this game
THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY SANITY! I first hand experienced that period of time where there was no sea bass in the ocean just by chance, but then could find NOTHING about it online. I felt like I was going crazy because no one believed me.
Late reply but it saved mine too, I got nothing but snappers and knifejaws and paid off my debt that week. I didn't know that it was specific days fish came and went on so I just assumed fall was the best time to fish and told everyone the "luck" was better. Now I know it was just a really good idea to try fishing at the start of the school year, haha.
You telling that story about your dad made me remember one about mine. I would wake up for school and come down and he would be playing. He would show me his house filled with red snappers and barred knifejaws. I'm can't remember if it was during that time frame or not but it was always fun to come down and have him show me everything he caught.
Red Snapper will forever be my favorite fish in the game because I remember them being how I was able to pay off my loans before anyone else in my family.
Lol that's so funny you brought up that story about your dad fishing. My cousin and I used to both play City Folk a lot and in both our towns our dads had save files that were almost exclusively used to fish on. You can get a dad to play any game as long as it has fishing mechanics.
Apparently I did fish on these days. It explains why I always had that feeling about why I was never able to attain those kinds of profits again. Now I know why. I just assumed that I had gotten lucky.
It's crazy to go back to the original Animal Crossing where the only thing that prevents ocean fishing from being a gold mine is the sea bass and the seasonal jellyfish. In the newer games, you also have to deal with those annoying horse mackerel.
That montage at the end had me grooving. I'm currently leveling up a character in a game which is just tedious and a bit boring so this video was just perfect to watch.
It's great to see someone using buttons in the inventory! B to send to the original (or an available) slot, L to quick-grab... It's really nice, like after years of watching people never run in Super Mario, you see someone else who notices that the B button exists.
Really cool! I didn't know that sea bass are not seen in a small window. Thought they were all year also didn't know full inventory prevents trash catches If you haven't filled your inventory, what's the odds your catch is a tire? Also the piggy bank fact is new for me too haha. Does the money just go into the void? You can't access the funds at any point? Doesn't seem like it I love these challenges because I seem to learn so much with each new vid :D
I knew there had to be some kind of event that made no sea bass spawn! I remember starting a town as a kid and couldn't find even one single sea bass for the museum, it felt like I'd unlocked some secret or exploit lmao.
Bringing back memories of innocently power-fishing on a rainy day. I used to catch all the big fish cause they are worth good money imo and more plentiful than just the ceolecanth, especially if there are no sea-bass. Mods is an interesting idea. I still have my GC copy, a Wii, and a wavebird. That's the ultimate way to play (if you don't have a gamecube). If there was a PC version with like a bigger, custom map, and multiplayer? I would play the crap out of that, and likely start a soccer league.
This was so much fun to watch, I love the idea of challenges and total completion but I have so many games I love and I don’t have the strength to stop playing them to focus on one 😂
Fishing in AC gives me slight anxiety and I always press too early :0 I would fail this challenge so bad. So you have my utmost respect. Even more respect than from any other average player.
Mods have reinvigorated the OOT and SM64 community. It would be amazing if the AC community got mods that brought it back to life in that sense. Add more items, add more NES roms, add literal multiplayer, add cross play to pc emulators, there are options! Literal ‘mini games’ can be added, many new features. New animals/insects/fish, etc. I don’t see why mods couldn’t be loved.
The lack of mods are probably why people besides me and this youtuber dont return to this game. Its really a shame, Id love some mods. New items, more fish and bugs, more to do with the gba island would be killer. I wish modders played this game :(

I genuinely thought it was in all original versions

LMAO 🤣

Woah you're hear. Went on your twt and it was completely silent for like the past 2 years. speaking on e+, is it still being worked on?

"I didn't know they really existed!" he said upon seeing the same fish that he'd already caught over 200 of.

I love seeing the AC GC gameplay on here! As a child, I never thought to try all of these tips and tricks!!!

opaygo might have some memory issues…

my god what an editing job
the cuica squeaking in rapid fire is something I didnt know I needed, loved watching really interesting to know to just hunt the celocanths
What an amazing idea for a video! Still love the original AC. It's probably my favorite one and I've got a soft spot for it
I played this so much during my childhood, it was so nice to come across your channel I love your insane dedication to this game 💗

Super fun vid! If I tried this challenge I would probably get bored after catching the first 100 fish haha, big props to you
9:16 same with my parents haha. We started in 2008 with ACCF and my dad was the first to pay off his house :)
Awesome video Brian! Keep it up.
I love that you still find ways to play this game despite it being 20~ years old :)

I took a shot everytime you said Coelacanth and I died
This was an awesome stream to catch (pun intended) live! Great video
really enjoyed this video
this channel is SO underrated. love the vids you make, keep up the great work :)
Wish I could've seen the whole stream but I'm glad I got to see a little bit on stream and hey I made it on stream in video, 2nd straight!
Despite how old this game, I still learn new stuff about its mechanics all the time
4:21 Wait, people can mod GameCube games? It’s not that I want to, but people can do that??
We gotta have a full day of only Coelacanth catches now.
I'd love mod support for this game, maybe backporting the slingshot? A bridge to the island would be kinda cool too.
Incredible 😍You're teriffic, I love your AC content
Love this channel!
Literally my mom waiting for me to go to school and then fishing all day. She finished her house first and got the golden statue and I was so mad.
Saw this happen on Twitch... HOURS of "doo-doo-doo-do-do" with every catch.
Good video I quite enjoyed this challenge.
I heard you in a video once say Arapaima can also be Tires? Never seen that before!
The Animal Crossing God posts a vid… I watch. Im a simple man… 😅
See? Lecanth!
Man I'm over here struggling to catch rarer fish, and you have no trouble at all.
Please please make more !
The whole video was some animal moaning everytime you caught a fish
Would you look-
WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT!
WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT
The montage is cool but the "woo" sound and KK Rock is off tempo by say 3-4 bpm. Not a music expert, I just play Bass/Guitar casually lol
