  • What are heart blocks? A heart block, or AV block, occurs when conduction is delayed for too long at the AV node or the bundle of His.

    Thank you for the well-made video. The only confusion I have is how Mobitz 1 can cause increasing P-R intervals. What exactly is going on in the AV node for there to be slower and slower conduction to the ventricles?

    I really love this video! I do have a doubt on the 7:05 minute, the configuration showed is in fact a rR'configuration, as the S wave doesnt pass the baseline. Also, when trying to identify the waves, both R waves are negative deflections and the S wave is a positive deflection, which goes against the definition of both R and S waves. Which one is correct then? Is it a rR' configuration or is it a rSR' configuration? Thank you!

    I went to the doctors to get cleared for a non invasive spinal surgery. My restring BPM is around 40-50. Closer to 40 when I'm really still and calm. I constantly workout and focus on pretty intense endurance training and have also been in and out of martial arts most of my life. I also ride BMX agressively back and forth to work almost everyday. I have relatively normal blood preasure. My systolic sometimes runs high if I feel anxiety in situations like TAKING MEDICAL TESTS. When I'm home and I test myself my blood preasure is always normal. After taking an ECG/ekg (i forget which) I was told they suspect an AV block. I never have had any symptoms infact I feel great with lots of energy. No dizzyness, no passing out, no nausea, no nothing.
    Is it not more likely I have an athletes heart and that my heart has made adaptations and that the walls of my ventricals are just thicker than the average person? Thank you.

    • @pffa9675
      @pffa9675 Год назад

      You're right, there is an entity called Athlete's heart. A completely normal thing where professional athletes may have resting heart rates of 30-60bpm. However, any nagging suspicions of AV block can be cleared by a good doctor looking at your ecg (ekg is an American colloquial term, and both are right). None of the pathological waveforms like you see here in type 1,2 or 3 will look like the waveforms in your case

    • @joeydube420
      @joeydube420 Год назад

      @@pffa9675 yes, i was cleared and told I had a healthy heart. They did an echocardiogram. I believe it checked my arteries and heart for blockage and normal functions. Thank you

    • @mr.stonks695
      @mr.stonks695 Год назад +1

      You’re right. I am also very sporty and my doc suspected a bundle block. But according to my conditions it’s more likely that a thicker heart muscle can imitate a block on the ecg.

    • @joeydube420
      @joeydube420 Год назад

      @@mr.stonks695 thanks for the information. After speaking with the specialist I was told I have nothing to worry about. I asked her if i had a streong heart and she agreed. They did an echo on me. The one where they check your arteries and listen to your heart. I dont know if it was an untrasound or echo. I want to say untrasound. I had to lay almost on my side and they hooked up several sticky things on me and it took aroud 15 or 20 minutes.

      @joeydube420 Год назад

      @@mr.stonks695 Also, when I looked up my numbers and compared them to a normak EKG (piror to going to the specialist) my numbers were all good except one of them was at a "200" and anything 200+ was supposedly flagged. I dont remember what marker or measurment it was just that it was 200.

    Random wierd question lol…. Can drinking too much fruit smoothie cause this? For this reason I thought it must just be some sort of trapped wind in the chest cavity? But I had major cramping or a squeezing feeling/ twisting feeling in the heart area lasting all day long after drinking a whole 500ml bottle of smoothie. The throbbing pain went on all day and made it hard to use the left side of my body. Seems to be improving might be crazy but I never seeked any medical help. I later had a panic attack of some sort and then the pain kinda subsided. Then I drank some orange juice and the throbbing came back. Then I was later able to relax a bit and going to get some sleep and see how I feel come morning. I have a potential diagnosis of Ankylosing Spodylitis which I have heard can lead to heart blocks. Maybe it’s more the sugar content in the smoothie that’s affected me this way? Any ideas?

      @@rosee941 been saying there’s something wrong with my nerves/nervous system since I was 10 they never look into it. They didn’t recognise fibromyalgia till a few years ago. Doctors don’t seem to understand that humans grow off of the nervous system like a plant grows off of a stem. Organs heart and brain all grow like fruit. Yet they don’t understand that Nerves are the root problem. Doctors arnt hands on any more probably too scared of being me twoed. they do mri’s and beam radiation at us constantly which I tell you now has contributed to my illness I was tenfold worse after the first and 100x after the second scan and the scans never come back conclusive. They did better without the tech. I’ve not had a single doctor check my spine by hand. I remember when doctors usually Chinese or Indian ones would diagnose you in less that 2 minutes and be bang on accurate. What happened? Now people are sleeping on stretchers in hallways, crazy times!!! Ps my heart still hurts almost a week later but I’m still standing so I’m past caring at this point lol.
