I’m not into tattoos myself, but I agree with you. A tattoo isn’t going to send you to Hell. And I’ve got a few friends that have tattoos and they’re more loving and caring than people I know without tattoos.
The point is that The Creator created our bodies the way they are supposed to be. By marking one's body, it's a form of sin, because you are desecrating what the Creator made. This is also said to be the same for piercings. The thing is though, we cover our body with clothing, we wear jewelry, watches, etc... Is that also a sin? It makes me wonder....
@@AlvinKazu I'm afraid you got the wrong idea, friend. The reason God demands in the Old Testament for people to keep away from piercings and tattoos is because those marks brand them as property of other gods. Tattoos were used in religious rituals for worshipping devils. Just like how in some passages the Bible condemns certain jewelry, because back then earrings were used to brand chattel. Specifically to mark devotion to false gods. The jewelry in of itself sometimes was an idol, which is why Jacob had his family and servants remove their earrings and bracelets and put on new clothing when he decided to serve God.
@@oldtimelogic Fair points, but I've also heard about not desecrating your body. The thoughts about not worshiping other gods, or putting symbols that would connect you to others makes sense though.
I grew up UPC. I married a man outside of that to get away from controlling men who wanted young brides to be barefoot & pregnant constantly. Best decision I ever made. Been married 27 years to a wonderful caring husband. Thank you for posting this!
Thank you, Eli for pointing that scripture verse out. As your video started, I knew you were going to bring the whole meaning of Ephesians chapter 5 out. Unfortunately, as you probably know from listening to people's stories, you know too many men fall short of "loving their wives as Christ loved the church" Eph. 5:25, but please keep preaching The Word, Eli; and please don't let "RUclips's police" chase you away. So many people, need to hear The Truth of God's love.
i don't mind submitting to my husband and that's because he meets all my needs and takes good care of his family. and because i love him so much i definitely love meeting his needs and spoiling him. its a 2 way road and some people don't seem to get that. its this exactly.
I really respect how you express your beliefs in a rational and kind hearted way. I'm agnostic, which means I accept the possibility that god is real. But I believe that no human could fully understand his will, and that we are not meant to. I find that most people who claim to know what god wants, just cherry pick Bible verses to justify their own personal agendas. It's important to be good, not because you will face damnation if you aren't, but because it's the right thing to do. I hope that you are successful in all of your endeavors.

Those people who are so against tattoos would have a heart attack in my church. Many of the members have tattoos, including the preacher! 😂 And, he preaches the word. And unless she's too self absorbed, she's going to do the same for him.

True that Eli! It also says it's a shame for a man to have long hair. Jesus did not have long hair. And that a woman should not cut their hair. They had different congregations and the one congregation the women wasn't allowed to speak in the church. It also says there is one church and it shall be named the church of God. Not the church of pentecostal or Baptist or catholic. The church of God. I am a sinner but I was saved at one point for about 15 years some of the stuff you say is true but some is not. You have to attend a church. Do not forsake the assembly of yourselves. It talks about a watchman on the wall the pastor. One called of God not one that goes to college to be a minister. Live your life accordingly to the Bible not how you want to live. Few there will be that find the road to heaven. Because straight and narrow is the way. Being saved isn't easy the devil is always there to tempt just like he tempted Jesus. Good luck Eli I believe God is faithful to all that want to see themselves.

I heard a preacher say it very succinctly, "Submission demanded is demonic". I thank God Almighty that I have a husband who doesn't demand submission. He got a strong woman in me and because he's so loving and sacrificial it's vastly easier to do as he asks me to. He wanted a partner so he discusses everything with me and gets my perspective before we decide together. I saw a bit floating around on Facebook about what a Biblical wife is. What people think when I say I want a Biblical wife: meek submissive woman, etc. What I mean: a woman totally willing to drive a tent peg into a tyrant's head if the need should arise! (Referring to the account in Judges 4:17 - 21 of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite.)
Submissive that is taken it out of context.when the husband makes a decision you make a decision that benefits you her. The husband is the leader but not acting like a thug, you be a loving leader.you put her needs be for yours and she put her needs aside and put your needs first. It’s a balance. When Christ is in your marriage you have an amazing relationship with your spouse. Ive been married for 8 years and it has been amazing. Not perfect but amazing.

A woman is to submit, not to just any man. The scripture says only to her own husband. She is under no obligation to submit to any other man. In turn, the husband is to love her as much as he loves himself and like Christ loved and gave himself for us. He is supposed to be submitted to God. If a man is submitted to God he will love and honour his wife and will do nothing to hurt her. A woman has no problem submitting to that kind husband. People don't read the scripture they just spout what they think it says or what they've heard. Then they misquote and misuse it to their own advantage.
And scripture says nothing about who is the boss, who makes the decisions, etc. It all goes back to Christ's command to love one another. 5:21, submit to one another, wives to husbands, and husbands lead by loving the wife as Christ loves the church.
Women submitting to their husband's as unto the Lord is directed at the wives, not at the husband's. It means it's not forced. She chooses to submit as she submits to God. And don't forget it says that men that are harsh with their wives will have their prayers hindered.
No place does it give the husband the authority to demand submission from the wife. God asks the wife to do that and the man is blessed if the wife can do that. But the husbands part is to love, in return the wife wants to submit. Obviously this is easy if both are born again Christians.
A husband is to be prepared to lay his life down for his wife , but the man IS the head of the marriage its a very heavy job that must be taken seriously you must guide your family on a godly manner . I have worked well past when I should of to provide for my family . ....
The Bible has been interpreted over the years and the true meaning of the words have changed or have not exactly translated in meaning to a different language. We need to keep that in mind and try to understand the “spirit” of the passage.
People forget that Paul's teachings must be reconciled with Christ's teachings. Starting with 5:21 (submit to one another) and then going on to the wife and the husband, it's just an example of how to carry out Christ's command to love one another. It's the sinful world of power and self-centeredness infiltrating the church that says that those verses are about hierarchy, who is the boss, who makes decisions, etc.
There are many things in the Bible that are NOT Gods word but the word of humanity. Anything that causes hurt is religion - word of humanity. Everything that is Love is God.
