      When the sand has the right level of moisture it works wonderfully , although if it’s too wet it doesn’t always come out evenly

    We have Sir Graham Zoysia, not a big lawn. We applied PGR and not for the first time either. It was applied at about 75% of instruction per sqm. My lawn has gone into hibernation!! Yes, we are careful with measurements. Parts of the lawn, especially by the side of the foot path that never received a full spraying are growing fine. Recommendation, use LESS PRG than recommended if you have zoysia. Oh well, there is always next year. 😢

    • @theaussielawn
      @theaussielawn  Год назад

      Id be interested to hear if when the PGR wears off (usually 4-6 weeks) if it puts on a little growth spurt for you. Seems very early in the season for it to go into hibernation

    • @velcroman11
      @velcroman11 Год назад

      In wrote hibernation but really I think the PGR just stopped the lawn from growing all together. I know it was the PGR that caused it because where I missed along the edge of the paths the grass is green and growing like a rocket. There are patches of green on the lawn in a squared off pattern. I spray North -South then, East West to ensure coverage. This squared pattern I feel is a result of a shoddy spray job. As of today, I don’t think the lawn is “hibernating”. I think it is actually dying! I say this because the patches that where brown are now straw coloured and pull out of the ground quite easily. I thought it could have been grubs but they don’t work in nice squares.

      I know I can't wait to have a decent amount of zoysia growing so I can start to change the whole green out!

    Would love to have some of that Zoysia grass. My couch is struggling with the 40 degree days in central Queensland.

    • @theaussielawn
      @theaussielawn  Год назад +1

      I don't think it is quite as drought tolerant as couch grass, but on a putting green its running rings around my couch grass

    I watched one of your old videos, in that video you postulated that sprigs obtained from a Bermuda grass lawn after scarifying can be replanted to produce a new lawn, wanna know if the same can be done to a zoysia lawn(can sprigs be harvested from a zoysia lawn and replanted)

    • @theaussielawn
      @theaussielawn  Год назад

      yes they can mate

    • @theaussielawn
      @theaussielawn  Год назад +1

      @@samuelasamoah6906 Yes mate it will work if you do it correctly and keep it constantly moist and never allow it to dry out. Zoysia is SUPER SLOW so you will need lots of patience

    Is the zoysia, zoysia australis that's just been released, or something different again?

    • @theaussielawn
      @theaussielawn  Год назад +1

      Hi Ryan no it's something totally different. This stuff is a special zoysia bred for golf greens, Its not as yet commercially available I have it here on a special trial
