I'm a fan of the Upper Park Shift. I fit 13 disks easily, carries my most thrown discs on the outside for easy retrieval. I like bags that carry less than 20 discs for lower weight, compactness, and setting up course specific loads versus carrying a larger, heavier bag where I'll most likely only throw 50-60% of the discs in the bag on any given course. Great video and list.
Started with Trooper (after the typical starter pack style sling bag). Still carry it for quick rounds after work. Upgraded to the BP1V3 and love it! I carry 36 discs and room for other items to boot. It is heavy, but sturdy. When playing multiple rounds at a time it got to be too heavy so I just got the LG Backpack Zuca cart and no more up and down a couple hundred times with a 22 pound bag.
Revolution bags with the back straps. I had one from 17+ years ago that is still going strong. I bought a Prodigy B1 when I got back into disc golf two years ago but the Revolution bag still holds up and is great when carrying between 10-20 discs rather than 20+. I know Drew Gibson was using one on tour a few times last year and they are still in production as the Carolina Team bags from Revolution. Can't go wrong.
I’ve packed 35 discs in my BP-1, but I will say that putting it together is a chore and I tore some of the fabric in doing so. Also about a year in, it is starting to show some serious wear and may not last a second year. We shall see.
Yeah I’m in the same position, had the bag for nearly 2 years and the strap just completely snapped off and then the expanded side pockets have holes in the bottom being expanded about half the time. Definitely probably worth investing in a sturdier bag
Latitude 64 DG luxury E4 I feel is so nice with lots of disc room but also sooo much room for other stuff needed on the course. I can hold my water, jacket, towels, and then I carry snacks for long tournaments and still have room.
I just got a Wild Discs Kangaroo bag, and I'm loving it so far. It seems to be made out of some really strong materials, much better than my BP1 V2. The main pocket also holds 4 more discs than my BP1. The site says it'll hold 45+ discs. I haven't tried that yet, but I believe it if you use the side pockets. It makes my BP1 look small in comparison. It's $200 so the price is really good for what you're getting, and the color scheme is awesome.
I'm using a Launch Capsule bag. It's basically the same as a MVP Shuttle but with less pockets (just a small side pocket and water bottle holder). Likely made by the same manufacturer. They claim it carries up to 19 in the main and 4 in the putter compartment. Costs about £28/$37 but I went with Disc Golf UK's offer of the bag and 5 Kastaplast discs. (Reko in K3, Lots, Falk, Kaxe Z in K1, Berg in K1 soft) for £85/$113. It's pretty well made, light, and comfortable. Enough of a bag for me, but at some point I'll be picking up a bag with more whistles and bells (pockets mainly)
I used the trooper bag for two years before it started falling over bc I had too many discs and it was getting worn out lol. I upgraded last year to the prodigy bp1 v3 and it has been great for me! Does not fall over bc of the feet on the bottom, has plenty of storage, i think its waterproof, and i love the velcro on top bc you can customize it with patches! I was looking into playing some tournaments or leagues but havent done it yet.
Perfect timing i have the trooper and it lasted me a year of 100+ rounds in the rain and mudd great starting bag IMO but i have been looking into the next bag for me and this has helped where to look. Thanks 🤟
Dynamic Disc Combat Ranger is my choice. I love the top compartment to store my keys, wallet, phone, hand warmers, sandwiches, sticky rice and much more.
Not to mention the customizable name plate for like $20 on the BP-1 and water resistant material. It is definitely the smartest choice for an affordable high level bag.
I just got the Upper Park Rebel and I love it. It combines the two things I loved about my last two bags- an open compartment for the discs so they are easy to get in and out, and the upper section to hold my putters. So good.
Perfect timing! Actually ordered a BP-1 just hours before you posted this, so it’s great to see that it looks like I went with the right one! 😁 Also think the Latitude64 Swift is a good alternative to the DD trooper. Used it until now and I’ve really liked it! Some cool colours and patterns as well 😁
I personally carry an OG pound Octothorpe (got for half price well used) but if I were in the market today I would look at the Squatch Discgolf backpack.
I got the Innova Excursion Backpack at the moment, but are concidering upgrading from it. I currently pack 20 discs in it (5 putter, 5 mids, 5 fw-drivers and 5 d-drivers). It got nice tall sidepocket for stuff like a jacket or umbrella and other stuff. The biggest con I'm currently having with it is the opening for the discs are too tight. It's a struggle to get a disc in and out without forcing and bending the disc. I've just had it for 2 months now, and already have 5 warped discs from it... So are thinking about investing in either AX5 or BP-1. How smooth are these bags in pulling discs in and out?
Thanks! I just ordered a Trooper yesterday. I am knew and I was between Trooper and Adventure. Went with Adventure because of color. I would to see a review of baskets. I want to get one for the backyard.
I have the dynamic disc commander bag i love it got it about a year and a half ago its a great bag i hold about 28 discs and plenty of storage for other items for like 130 bucks really tough and doesn't tip basically at all.
Love my new Handeye Supply Co bag. I've got nothing but great things to say about it. Especially if you're on a budget or looking for your first "serious" bag to last you a few years.
i know this video was made 10 months ago, but if you guys ever plan to make an updated version would i recommend Guru's Sigr. The bag that sponsored the coverage of PCS sula open 2022
Great video! Although i find it strange that u didn't even mention Pound. I get it - they're pricey. But in my opinion, they're the absolute best bags out there in terms of quality.
Great video, as always! I went with the Atlas Pioneer and I'm loving it. The comfort level is off the chart and for the price point ($90), it's awesome for both beginners and veterans.
I have a rebel in the closet. Nothing but good things to say about it. But my Pound# bag blows it and my daughters Grip bag out the water in comfortability and quality . If you can spare the money it’s worth it!
I slid across the asphalt wearing the trooper (my first DG bag) after clipping a cat at 25mph riding my EUC one night. It completely shredded the zippers and the majority of fabric off.. hah probably saved me some roadrash and helped me justify an upgraded:)
I’m upgrading to the Grip BX3. I only use 14 of my discs and need room for my 6 year olds snack and any “special” rocks she finds, just wish there where coupons or something. Thanks for the info.
I did NOT like the Prodigy BP1. It felt very saggy and like you mentioned, extremely heavy. Upgraded to a Pound and it was a fantastic investment. Genuinely feels like there's hardly anything on my back even though I'm carrying about 24 discs, quick stick XL, and other accessories. Might be a little pricey, but if you can get one, I wouldn't put any other bag over it.
@@danielskyvulstad2700 yeah thats newer than when I was looking into bags so I can't really comment on it. I feel like the best bag for the price on the market right now is squatch, just carry a light stool with you and you'd never need anything more. If sitting during a round is that necessary, I live scored for Ezra during the GMC and he legit just sat on the main compartment of his grip bag lol
So this is really a best bags for the money on a bit of a budget. Not the actual best bags in general. I was a bit confused when I didn't see a DD Combat Ranger or Pound Octohaul/Thorpe. They are expensive, especially the pound. But once you own one you'll never own another bag.
I currently use a PA wine and spirits bag. Its handheld and I currently have 15 discs in it. There is room for 1 or 2 more discs in it and cost almost nothing.
I got a BX3 from my Ledgestone player pack and LOVE it. Still a Novice so I really don't need a bag with 30 capacity, but one that can have my many options at the ready.

@@blastblast8301 it’s better than a pound octothorp or octohual. It’s designed here and produced overseas… just like everything else. It’s also half the price of an octohual.

As someone who owns a ridge backpack from ridge roller I think it's criminal to not include it. It's more expensive than a grip bag, but it's way cheaper than a pound bag, and the ridge has a built in stool!
You can beat these options easily with the "MVP Disc Sports Backpack Shuttle Disc Golf Backpack Bag" for only $24 on Amazon a great MVP bag that holds 24 disks for only $24 bucks it's by far the best option over the ones in this video simply because high quality for such a low cost comparatively.
