      @@OpenMeUpTec you're correct. the camera problem is that Win10 lacks the driver for it and ASUS does not support WIN10 on this model pc. A few years ago a installed Win10, with no hardware changes, and the camera stopped working. Device manager showed it as an unknot device. ASUS said Win10 not supported on this PC.

      May I know, what problem you encountered that made you change the battery? I just replaced the battery in the motherboard, but pc cannot boot up. After push power button, it turned on though, but after showing the ASUS slogan, the monitor turned black. It supposed to POST and let you the option to access BIOS setup. But the monitor just turned black with the fans running. Unplug everything including power cord and press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to drain the residue power in the board to try reset it. Have repeated these procedures a couple of times, but still got the same result as monitor showing nothing and pc won't start up. Have any clues, anyone, can share to help?

      @@OpenMeUpTec Thank you for responding to my question. I am thinking of fitting my ET2701 with either a SSD or a large capacity HDD for video editing. Have conflicting information on the HDD verses SSD for this use as it is the ram that does all the rendering. So is a faster SSD drive worth the extra cash? But that was not my question to you. Your video gave me the confidence (thank you again) to remove the back of my ET2701 as a reconnaissance exercise. I removed the slime sata connection to the DVD easily but the wire attached to the eject mechanism proved more difficult and since I did not have the parts (because I can't make up my mind on the SSD v HDD) I put everything back together. However, when I come to put replace the present HDD, I need to summon up enough courage to detach the eject wire. Did you just pull it, or does it have a release catch?

    • @OpenMeUpTec
      @OpenMeUpTec  5 лет назад +1

      @@UsefulWisdom i believe you can just pull it. i dont remember as it has been sometime now. having a SSD is just makes you life better, but if you asking about video editing only then it does make a difference but not something extremely big. ssd will make your system more responsive and improve your computer experience. i cant tell you the how much better it is but you will notice the difference instantly if you use an SSD

      @@OpenMeUpTec Thank you for your reply. I have swapped a HDD for a SSD in an Asus laptop and it improved it, start times and the trackpad is noticeably better.
      I have watched your video hundreds of times, stopping it and trying to calculate the space inside the PC. There is enough space in the PC to fit an SSD without removing the HDD. I had the idea of swapping the sata 111 connected to the HDD to an new SSD. Then connecting the present HDD to the DVDs sata cable. Its speed is only sata 1 but that is fast enough for the present HDD to work.
      I could then used a usb cable to connect the DVD player. The usb cable will fits through a gap where the PCs stand connects without the need to drill a hole . I would have used a usb to slime sata cable to connect it. The DVD only requires 5 volts and the usb supplies 5 volts. Then I realized, slime sata. only has 5 volts power and the present HDD needs 12 volts.
      I know the easy solution is to put a SSD in the PC. Then the old HDD in an enclosure (with 12 volts supped to it from a power brick) and run it from a usb. But there is no challenge in doing that and it will clutter up my desk.

    Not sure if you are still responding to questions. I recently had to change out a broken DVD player from this exact same AIO. The new dvd player works fine, but the eject button still doesn't work. It stopped working around the same time old dvd player stopped working. One of the screw holding circuit board for the eject button to the cover was loose, so I thought the button wasn't making proper contact, but tightening it didn't seem to help. Do you have any advice on what else I can try. I can still manually eject using the pin hole or using right click and selecting Eject from Windows.

    But, it looks horrible. The PC is fine. Good even. It all, just, looks awkward, with a big empty screen and an external monitor on the side. My question is, is it possible to just remove the motherboard and transfer it to a custom designed casing and use it as a desktop computer? Like a DIY job?

      1. does the fan spin when you turn on the power with and with out the CPU.
      2. the CPU socket is there bent pins as this is important there are none if you happen to bin the pins it can cause a big issue as the computer requires the pins to touch the bottom of the CPU. some pin when bent will render then computer unless like not turning on when other might cause issue like the computer not been able to detect ram or can only detect some ram.
      3. turn on the computer without ram and CPU and see if it makes any beeps

      There's a very simple solution to this. Switch off your main power (on your wall socket). Turn it back on and hold the power button on your screen along with the rubber button behind it. You'll have to hold these two for a few seconds (count till 10 or so)... then leave it. It will start your system with the BIOS screen on. Just save and exit.

      No with most AIO you can not change it. so what it comes with is what you have to keep. the only one that comes with a removable graphic card is HP. but then even with the HP the graphic card that comes with it is normal the best one you can get with it so there is no point of changing it.
