Thanks Mike. It was my pleasure to be there. Sadly might be the last time, as someone commented, where I was has now been fenced off. If not it won't be long before the area is built on.
Very enjoyable viewing. So many loco's and liveries. The 47 was still the best looking, even if she is a bit oil stained . Surprised how quick some of the trains pass through the yard,, must've been brew time for the driver. Would love to see the HOBC working. See what you can do Phil. It's a like from me . All the best Phil. Thanks for sharing. 👍😎
what a lovely yard full of different freight and loco's😀 wish dollands moor was like that I've gone past it on the train and sometimes it has been empty 😟
@@philclarke3203 Hiya Phil.... Brilliant video.... Absolutely love the 47.... Oh, that takes me back to the 1970s.... Oh Lord, I'm showing my age now..... Where you filmed, was that near to where Boughey Transport warehouse bud?
@@philclarke3203 it’s was in an unusual all over green with small freightliner logos. Kept 90050 company for a while. Just checked on Flickr, think it’s 47811.
Great video !! Basford Hall is a hive of activity, shame about the 86s yes but great to see the 90s as of February 2022, all the ex-GA 90s are all repainted, 90013 the last to be done, funny we haven't seen one Class 70 in Orange G&W
These wagons are for engineering works on the railway, not commercial movement of aggregates, it's track ballast. The wagons would get used at the weekends on track replacement work, so having an expensive high volume loading facility isn't necessary or financially viable. All that requires is one excavator, one operator and some diesel. Also, there are various types of wagon used, so a fixed piece of loading equipment may not be suitable. They'll load them up during the week, then from Friday evening and through the weekend they'll head out to the site. Most commercial quarries are equipped with rapid loading facilities for the bulk movement of construction aggregates, sand, limestone etc
@@philclarke3203 thanks Phil i wasn't not sure and there as been so many changes in Crewe and with lock down retiring and moving to Shropshire i have lost track or the plot lol cheers
Many thanks for being out and about for us, Mr Clarke.
My pleasure. 😀
Thanks Phil for getting this footage and sharing your time there.

Good work Phil. Those 86's should be running.👍
Thanks David, definitely 👍
Are the 86s redundant or for scrapping? if redundant we should get more freight off the roads and onto the railways like they do in other countries.
@@48firefox redundant and in store at the moment. Definitely, agreed on that.

All that wonderful traction...
Indeed
Busy busy same about the 86`s Great Catch Phil😁
Thanks Johnny. yes, a shame, but while they are still there, there's still hope?

Thanks Barry, surprised about Dollands Moor, but certainly busy here. 😀👍
Like Jonny sad, shame about all those lovely 86s
Yes. Need to find a use for them soon.
Very enjoyable, cheers.
Many thanks
Very good vide Phil
Thanks Simon 😀
Good to see 90050 still extant (just).
Yes, just
That’s definitely a busy freightliner terminal at basford hall yard
Very busy Scott. Each time I was about to leave, something else turned up! :-)
@@philclarke3203 yeah
Great video. I`d like to see the spray paint yobs covered in their own paint
Thanks Alan. I'm sure we could find plenty volunteers to apply the paint over them😊
Busy place there Phil loads of 66's looks like a good spot to video from.
Thanks Rick. It is a good spot, but won't be there much longer. 😭. In fact it's gone now 😭😭

@@nigelbevan8449 thanks Nigel. You must be my age, with the 70s? Yes the Boughey warehouse was to my right. 👍
Always enjoy a Basford Hall vlog.
Glad to hear that.Always good to spend time there!
wondered what that new shed was for when being built . Now i know. thanks
My pleasure
Definitely busier than the S&C !!
Definitely, but not as scenic
How do you get to the location where you filmed all this, Great capture though 🙌
Great vid thanks . Is that ropey green FL 47 still kicking about the yard, or has it gone for scrap now?
The one at the start of the video?

@@mikebebb9268 ahh, don't remember it being there, but 47811 is /was at LSLs diesel depot being stripped for spares.
Not bad; at least nine classes: 08, 37, 47, 56, 66, 70, 86, 87, 90 (albeit some non-operstional)
A great variety, but no 87. The inter city livery loco by the shed was LSLs 86101
Do the lines through basford hall lead directly to the crewe freight tunnel thus avoiding the main line? thank you.
Yes they do Desmond.
Thank you Phil , love spotting at Crewe.

Thanks. No, no orange 70's yet.
Surely there's a quicker and more efficient way of loading aggregate trains than one bucket load at a time.

How did u get round there I went on Friday and was fenced of
It wasn't when I was there. Sad, but not surprised, if it is now. It was inevitable that it would be soon. 😪
How many hours were you there to take the footage. Just trying to work out how busy the place is.
1 hour and 20 minutes.
Wow that’s impressive. Thank you
