No, it’ll work when driving as well
Cool little device, I noticed you said in Camaros you use the bottom usb port, is there a reason behind using the bottom port vs top ?
The bottom one is the only one that seems to work, Hot 1LE channel has the same thing. Seems to be one is for media and one is for charging

Works for both, the box actually runs on android auto
