  • Now that we have the radiator installed lets get some transmission cooler lines built so we can stop leaking fluid everywhere we park.

A little trick for installing AN fittings
Find a socket that fits over the fitting
Put a thin layer of tape over the end of hose
Use an impact driver and practically screw the fitting on the lines until they bottom out. Once that’s done you can install the rest afterwards “ by hand of course “😂
I found it being more effective than pushing/twisting the fittings and hose.
    Works on braided hose too.
I’m actually doing my lines on my 01 suburban.

This one has been leak free since the swap. Of course it likely only has 1500 miles on it since the swap.

@ThePracticalMechanic I noticed in your wrap up video of this vehicle, one of the lines started leaking on the radiator. Did you ever figure out the cause?

@@coyoteserranoband I believe we just had to snug everything back up. It may have been missed during assembly.

I feel like the “don’t mind the dirty work bench” was directed to me 😂😂 awesome video Chad, those cutters work good and the hoses came out awesome. I just had my hands on a 4L60 they are solid like the 4L80’s.

Are you using a electronic speedometer or the cable driven unit? How did you hookup to get to work? I have a 4L60E tranny and 6.0L engine. Looking forward to getting my 60 wagon running.

We went with the Dakota digital cluster. It gets its signal from the data link connector IIRC.

Do you know if there's a stainless steel pair with the nuts already attached?

Would using a match or lighter to sear the frayed nylon help?
