Content like this is the reason channels like yours are so valuable...also i have these exact same tools and have for over two years and the biggest pluses are absolutely zero off season storage issues and the mower is SUPER quiet. Heck i can even pick that mower up by myself and put it on a properly supported shelf with relative ease and i am not a huge muscle guy. Great content as always. I would even say its...REAL NASS LIKE

My dad has an old Honda mower he bought brand new in 1990 and it still starts first pull to this day. Amazing mower that has lasted decades of use. I will be getting the Ryobi HP 21" cut mower when I get a house next year because of the small amount of maintenance and the lower noise levels. Great video man! EGO knows how to build powertools!

I can mow 4 acres with 6 batteries and it's pushing around literally 380 pounds plus the 75 pound bagger kit and I've never had any issues. It's incredibly fast and super powerful.

I bought an Atlas 21" 80v push mower last year. With Atlas line, also got the trimmer & blower. Went more for the 40v of those. I only have a total of 2000 sq ft of yard, front+back. On a full charge, i can trim edges, mow all 2000 sq ft, blow loose grass, & still have half charge left. & all together, mower+trimmer+blower+80v battery+charger= around $550

I'm a recent ego convert - love their tools - 2 stage snow blower, mower, 765 cfm leaf blower, 600cfm backpack blower, multi head trimmer, edger, weeder - I just got the backpack link and helps reduce the weight of the handheld tools (trimmer, handheld blower, chainsaw) and puts the battery on your back - well worth the cost and the arm pain.

I have all three products. I couldn't agree more. I bought these products to avoid the time and maintenance costs. Really glad I did. The only thing I would add is the batteries regardless of size only take about an hour to fully charge. If you have the rapid charger you could even be looking at about 45 minutes to full charge. So the batteries charge very quickly. I live on a quarter acre and I never run out of power when I do my lawn

Picked up all three of these and the hedge trimmer this weekend. Wonderful tools - and the interchangeable batteries are great. We charged the 7.5 and 2.5 and started working while the 1.5 was charging. Never had to wait for a charge working in the yard for approx 3 hours.
The mower was perfect and stores completely collapsed and standing on the back end.
The blower is awesome, string trimmer and hedge trimmer are nice also.
    Highly recommend.
After we finished I think it took about 30-40min to charge the mower battery. Wasn’t watching closely.
Takes about 15min(?) to charge the smaller ones (on the rapid charger)

Ego now sold at Lowe's. I purchased the 1st generation walk behind self-propelled mower in the summer of 2018. In less than a year, the speed control for the drive wheels got stuck on full speed, too fast for mowing. Home Depot sent it off for repair and it took almost 2 months to get it back. This was in July/August of 2019 so right during the height of mowing season.
Fast forward to January 2022, and I pull it out to knock down some winter weeds. Drive wheels would not work at all. After some discussion with customer service, they decided to just send me a new mower. It came in just yesterday, so kudos to EGO and their customer service.

2 months ago, I bought a $600 EGO mower. Last weekend, the self-propulsion stopped working. I have a large, steep hill to mow so self-propulsion is pretty important. After a couple calls to EGO tech support, they said they'd send me a warranty replacement. But they have literally no idea when they will have a replacement mower available. They couldn't tell me whether it's going to take days, weeks, or months to get a working replacement. I am currently regretting this EGO purchase.

On the 18v platform the Ryobi Trimmer works excellent, and you can hang it in any direction and not worry about spilling anything. However, the battery life on the 18v mower wasn't good 10 minutes each battery so Ryobi must make a different voltage mower that you're talking about.

Just bought the EGO LM2102 self-propelled mower yesterday, after deciding to ditch the landscaper. I have a relatively small lawn, but it's also not entirely level and about a third of it has a good grade (probably close to the 15%), so I was concerned about the wheels slipping (as other self-propels I've borrowed in the past have done), and the weight of pushing the mower around up the grade given that the specification weight was similar to that of a gas mower (I am 68 after all). After doing the first cut last evening I have to say how presently surprised I was at the experience, in fact blown away. The unit pulled itself around effortlessly on the inclines, even the high grade and I was simply just walking around behind it with almost no effort. And the QUIET! THE QUIET! I Wish I had done this several years ago. Kit came with the 7.5ah battery and rapid charger. Battery was at 25% out of the box, and was fully charged in about a half hour for first cut. Things I liked the most: self-propel works independent of cutter blade so you can just move around (can't do that with gas), and the self-propel speed range goes from slight crawl to faster than I'd ever want to go. Well engineered product. Fold up and vertical storage is sweet! I will definitely be buying one of their string trimmer models, blower, and maybe the hedge trimmer next season.

I bought my Ego self propelled mower about 3 years ago and haven’t had any issue with it until last year. The battery started loosing capacity at 21/2 years. Right before the end of mowing season. In the spring I couldn’t get the whole lawn done on a charge. I live in north Texas and our yards are TINY. I called Ego and explained my problem and they couldn’t find me in their database and I was sure I had registered it on line. I looked up service centers on Google and Ace Hardware was the closest to me. I took the battery and the charger along with my receipt from Lowe’s to them and left it. A week later the repair guy called me and said he had contacted Ego and they approved a warranty replacement. That was a huge relief because the 10 amp/hr battery is $500! My new battery lasts 2+ weeks between charges, and that’s running the blower as well. I’m completely satisfied with my Ego mower and blower. They aren’t cheep but are very good quality and hell,I don’t have to keep any gas in my garage.

I also have an Ego mower and graphite trimmer as well as the single stage snowblower, multi head system with edger, hege trimmer (!!!) and cultivator and have used them for over a year now. Can say they have all performed to my expectations or better (hedge trimmer). I also eventually broke down and got the 4 charger Ego Nexus with batteries as well so now I have a 2000/3000 watt inverter that can run off the 8 batteries I now have if the power goes out.
Some things to keep in mind:
    1. Batteries are cheaper when purchased with tools!
    2. Batteries will self-discharge to a lower level after 30 days for maintenance reasons.
    3. Batteries are not designed to be used or stored below freezing.
When I use my snowblower I bring batteries from inside to outside and remove after use. Never had a problem this way.
    4. The hedge trimmer attachment can also be used to cut low to the ground if you have overgrown weeks. I've been taking out 6 foot sumac and pokeweek out back. Only problem is getting them out of the way after cutting so I can move forward. Still wish I had a brush hog to just grind it all up on the ground.

I have the blower the trimmer and the mower (different model than shown) have 2.5 and 5 amp hour batteries. Now I want to go get a 7.5 amp battery after this. The 5 amp will last the mower for about an hour I always have to slap the 2.45 amp battery in at the end to finish the last small section. totally glad I went with this setup got sick and tired of draining gas or changing out carburetors.

I have the Kobalt 80volt mower and I wouldn't go back to gas. This is the second summer of using it. I did get the kit that included the 6 amp-hr battery instead of the smaller I think was a 2 amp-hr. The six amp-hr I can get two cuts of my 1/4 acre lot on a charge depending on how long the grass has gotten on me. Going into the winter I picked up the the Kobalt 80volt snow blower kit, to replace the Toro two cycle I had. This was an even better decision than the mower. If you live some place you have to remove snow I suggest you pick up the battery operated snow blower too.

I have the Ego backpack blower, Edger, Mower, Weed Eater, Power Station and Backpack Link. As for the trimmers only 2 have the auto wind ability and the newest model has the Line IQ ability for the auto feed so no need for bumping. The backpack blower has a little bit less cfm then the 650 but in my opinion it’s more comfortable and easier to manipulate to get what needs to be done, the mower will take 5.0 / 7.5 / 10.0 getting 1/2-1 1/2 acres on a full charge. The biggest downfall of Ego products is the cost of the batteries ranging in cost from 150 for the 2.5 to 500 for the 10.0

With the price of gas skyrocketing, I decided to go with the EGO line of tools. I haven't been disappointed. I didn't buy the self-propelled model because to me that just uses more battery. It does a great job and the not having to deal with gasoline is a major plus. I also bought the string trimmer, leaf blower and the 16" chainsaw. I had been wanting to move to battery operated equipment but wasn't sure which brand to go with but after seeing several videos and reviews, I settled on EGO. Best decision ever! BTW, great video!!

Thanks for the video. I bought the trimmer 3 years ago and absolutely love it especially the trimmer line loading! Nothing better....so, I bought the blower 2 years ago and love it too. Right now, I am shopping for a Self Propelled mower. I am thinking about EGO because of my other two products. If I factor in gas and oil over a season, the higher price may make sense. Thanks again.

      @alan30189 2 года назад

The problem is, if that battery dies in 5 to 10 years, you’ll spend $500 to replace the 5ah battery (I think that was the size) which is probably 30 times more than you would spend on gas and oil in five years, depending on the size of your yard. They need to get the price of the batteries down, substantially.
From what I saw on another review, they also need to improve the mulching capabilities.

@@alan30189 It partly depends on how you care for the battery and how much lawn there is to mow. I'm on acreage, have a puny Greenworks mower that takes 3 hours each time and mow weekly during the spring and early summer. At today's gas prices in British Columbia I would be paying $5 to fuel each lawn mowing session. It works out to $100 per year in gas approximately, perhaps $50 per year up until prices soared. Even at $50 per year, my mower is in its 10th year without replacing batteries so it has definiely been a good investment. The 5AH battery is not $500. In Canada, it's $380 every day, so probably more like $300 in the USA. If you have a small lawn there would not be much gas involved but the batteries would still deteriorate, with age, though not as quickly as if they were used more. So the math favors electric the more lawn mowing you do per year. Yes there is some electicity cost but it is negligible compared to the gas. The gas motors in outdoor power equipment, especially but not limited to the two stroke ones in leaf blowers, trimmers and chainsaws, are not nearly as efficient as road vehicle motors.

@@alan30189 I'm going through this now. My 5ah ego battery died after 6.5 years of mowing 1/4 acre once a week about 7 months out of the year. I'm debating if I want to spend $268 to replace the battery. It's definitely more expensive than a gas mower and doesn't cut as well as my previous gas mower. I do like the convenience of electric but not sure if convenience outweighs the cost.

    • @alan30189
      @alan30189 Год назад

@@mattmiller719 Did you recharge your battery on a regular basis, especially during the off-season? You don’t want them to run down and need to recharge every three months or so when not in use, or whatever time span the manufacturer’s instructions say.
Maybe GreenWorks makes a better battery, per what Donald said, above.
I’m hoping that Ego has made major improvements to their battery system and mower in the last 6 1/2 years. I think they still have a ways to go.

We have had all three for a couple of years now and no issues. The very best thing is the wife can use it all. Easy to load the string on the weed eater, no pull starting anything and the I cant get it started yell. She loves the blower the best. I mean it makes for a great lazy Sunday afternoon of watching NASCAR while she works on the yard with no equipment malfunctions to interrupt the race or golf or the game.

My Honda is 21 years old - think a battery will last that long? New technology and very good according to your video but 3 things that bother me. Limited run time, battery life, and power - these items would affect me greatly as my yard is a pretty good size. These are probably great for a smaller yard and I realize larger yards are usually done with a rider but some of the limitations I've listed will certainly make a difference for me. Some of the features are really good - noise, weight, maintenance and no gas - those are fantastic! That being said I prefer the gasoline engines. I really enjoyed your video - very informative and very well done - kudos!

You bought the best of the best of EGO !! I am between 2 right now. The trimmer and 530CFM blower kit (with a 2.5ah) at 339$CAD or the 650CFM blower(with a 5ah) at freackin 400$/CAD. I would need to buy a standalone trimmer after...I am scared of making a bad choice, but at 400$ cad for the blower only it's too pricey for me.

I bought the cultivator after starting to till an area that is about 12x20 by hand. Already had the edger with the multi-tool shaft, so figured I'd give the cultivator a try. Saved me a ton of time and work. I was working with soil that was pretty well packed, so it took me a couple of runs to get through it, but it worked great. Works best if you pull it backward. If you are working with an established garden that you simply want to till up every year, it'll be a piece of cake. Even if I never use mine again, it was worth the cost for the work it saved me.
