Nice to see Ron Ely is still looking great after all these years. I watched Tarzan every Saturday in the early 70's as a kid. What ever happened to Jai, Manuel Padilla, Jr. ?
Ron Ely as Tarzan is a memory for me that I will never forget... a great role model to a young person in that era, and I think the role of a lifetime for a wonderful star... who still has that magic. GREAT to see him.
Wow, this BLOWS ME AWAY! Not only does this have TWO of my favorite TV shows heroes as a kid (and they know each other and Fess is even Ron's kids' godfather!), but it includes the guy who played "Jesus" in the Passion, one INCREDIBLE movie!! Kudos to whoever put this interview together!
I'm only 33, so my first memory of Ron was actually from the game show "Face the Music" from 1980. But I've seen his acting, and he's just as good an actor as he is a game show host.
Ron Ely also played Doc Savage in a movie which was supposed to get sequels but then never did. And since it's now generally accepted that Doc and Tarzan are related, it makes sense that the same actor played both.
Wonder what he'd say if someone asked Ron about Face the Music, or replacing Bert Parks on the Miss America Pageant. He did his Miss American gigs and Face the Music around the same time.
wonderful...thanks for putting this combo together...i knew ron ely in the early days..........always a hard worker.......& i met fess parker on the set of "daniel boone"....he gave me an audition right there, but my english accent wasnt up to SNUFF.......nice guy....& all guys have that "quality X"...THANKS,..JACK ENGLISH.......ACTOR.....HOLLYWOOD, CALIF..........
Wow ! I shook Fess Parkers hand in Kansas City at a Rodeo at 4 years old If Only we could have Davy Crockett settle the issues now!! Tarzan on TV was a regular !!
EXCELLLENT.........RON LOOKS GREAT...NICE GUY........WE WERE ACTING STUDENTS, AT ESTELLE HARMAN'S ACTOR'S WORKSHOP IN 1957, & 1958.........GOOD MAN, SMART GUY...BEST, JACK ENGLISH II...WEST HOLLYWOOD
This was great to see- Ron Ely was my absolute hero back in the day. Brings a smile to remember spending Saturdays with Tarzan. Thanks!

"Tarzan" was also my hero (johnny Weismuller). I remember Ron Ely on TV also. Fess Parker as Davy Crockett was a big hero in my youth also.

Is there a longer more complete version of this interview! It feels a little rushed, would love to see the full interview!
