I think Jim Nantz is enough of a professional that he can kind of guide and get the best performance out of even a rookie color commentator. (Like he would be a great interviewer for example, because I feel he would be able to always get the other person to feel comfortable talking.) I love Tony Romo's "call it in the air" prediction abilities and I think Jim Nantz was always good enough to have trust and give space and tease those awesome calls out of Tony Romo even when Romo was brand new. But I think Romo hit a "sophomore slump" as he became a little bit too comfortable in the booth, and now we need to wait for him to take the next step of being both comfortable and more experienced.
I’m not sure you know the meaning of the word literally. But if you do, I don’t think you know GOAT means. Literally and Greatest of All Time can’t be in the same sentence pairing together because literally is a word of FACT and being the greatest at something cannot be proven as fact with 100% certainty. I apologize for sounding like such a douche (believe me, I know I do) but I really have a difficult time with people stating their opinion as fact. It’s truly awful for society.
@@servers5717 I do and apologize if you were being hyperbolic but with how the word “literally” and term GOAT are used nowadays, it seems as if nobody knows what the heck they are talking about. I guess I’m just getting old and don’t understand why these things are the way they are.
Kevin Harlan is by far the goat, so good. I actually love Sanchez though. Admittedly I've only seen a few of his games so maybe I just need to give it time but I thought he was great.
@@andrewaustin6459 ehhh the Norwood miss was a far bigger deal than that Tyree catch, because the Giants won that game on that miss unlike the Tyree catch. I don't why true Giants fans always leave that call out when it was win, or lose on that FG. It wasn't even 4th down on the Tyree catch, so even if Eli had been sacked on the play the Giants would still have had the ball.
I agree with you 50% on Joe Davis. His tone is quite off-putting and his cadence isn’t great but he’s definitely professional and is always prepared. Your criticism of Al Michaels can also be applied to Harlan (when Kevin is on the radio broadcast). I’m not sure if you’ve ever listened to him on radio but you can literally hear a play end before Kevin even starts describing what’s happening. It drives me crazy. But I agree with you in terms of him on TV. He’s my favorite
Brother, Vilma is TRASH. If you're gonna bash Sanchez for jumping in you have to bash Vilma, he does it just as much. Vilma is the WORST. I HATE when hes on the call for my team
Literally the only person I know that doesn't love some Joe Davis! How can a voice sound fake? It's not AI generated or nothing. Why would he make all those shocking play calls while yelling and not mean it? Most Announcers don't just yell to yell.
Al Michaels nowadays seems super bored whenever he’s calling games. I don’t if that’s just me or not. Then again he’s been calling games for who knows how long.
best - harlan, joe buck, davis, and (nantz and Michaels 15-20 years ago). worst - levy, spero dedes, tirico - big piles of dog excrement. al michael's is actually a hologram - they have people behind the scenes who cobble together past audio.
I’ll admit to a certain degree of bias as a Dodger fan, I think Joe Davis is one of the better announcers. You can tell he has a baseball background when he incorporates baseball analogies in a NFL Broadcast.
I really struggle with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.. Both have a kind of monotone , low energy performance and many inane comments. Just groan every time I see them on...
I am a Buffalo Bills fan and a San Francisco 49ers fan, and we loved Van Miller, he was so great. But, dear God, the guy that followed him, John Murphy, was the worst. He knew absolutely nothing about football, let alone the entire sports of WNY and I dreaded the Bills being blacked out because that loser was going to call a game. Thank God we don't have that worry anymore.
Joe Buck's being annoying is only part of his problem. There's the greater problem of his continuing failure to understand the game at a more-than-superficial level. The audience is reminded every week that Buck has never played football--on any level. Buck's knowledge of the game seems to be held back by two things: (1) he doesn't have a love for the game--his first love is hearing his own voice--and (2) he lacks the brain power it takes: someone who struggles to known whether 5/8 is greater than 1/2 is intellectually incapable of understanding football on the level of someone who's actually played the game. And most of Buck's male audience will have played football at some point in their lives.
Tony Romo is terrible because he won't just shut up and let us enjoy the game. I don't want him trying to tell you what plays the offense and defense are doing...especially if he's going to be wrong. He should talk like 50% less most of the time. He's still better than Greg Olsen though
How you put Romo top tier? Literally one of the worse. Talks too much preplay... I don't ever want to hear him tell me what to expect the offense or defense is gunna do. That alone puts him near the bottom as far as "tiers" are concerned
Worst announcer is the duo for Cowboys Eagles games big cowboy haters Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen Happy Olson got boot after Lions 49ers game! Now waiting on Kevin Burkhardt to get the boot so he can go back to calling the plays for his Mets team!
Garbage video. Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth should be in the lowest tier possible. All they do is talk about Patrick Mahomes nonstop and both of them generally get a ton of info about players wrong, whether it be through their take on penalties or their take on quarterbacks and receiver performances
I got here by googling “Kevin Harland worst nfl announcer” after he said “smith-Njinga” multiple times, got corrected and then said Njigba, and then regressed right back to Njinga again. He is also an unnecessary yeller, and loses track of what is happening on the field like multiple times per game. Could not disagree more on this guy. Also Tirico is hands down number one so having him with any partner as a C is laughably bad bro
Congrats on 1k subs. I said it before but your production value for such a channel of your size is better than most with 50k+ subs. Love the work you're doing and bringing up a bunch of great NFL topics for discussion. Can't wait to see what we having coming when TC starts and the NFL season officially starts.
Joe Davis slander will not be tolerated, although I will say he is way better at baseball than football
He’s good until someone makes an iconic play lol
I think Jim Nantz is enough of a professional that he can kind of guide and get the best performance out of even a rookie color commentator. great points! Nantz is truly a pro, thanks so much for watching!
Might just be me but I’m cool with all the announcers. Never had the feeling that they were doing a bad job 😂
I feel it when a crazy play happens and they are really lame
I can't tell with Joe Davis. I'm a slightly biased Dodger fan that's used to hearing his voice all the time, but I like him. Not amazing, but not bad.
Bro. Joe Davis is literally the goat. Dudes voice is electric.
to each his own!

Tony was for sure drunk last season and it was unbelievably funny imo, dude had some crazy breakdowns. Love your videos :)
hahaha yes, he's always entertaining! thanks so much for watching!
Stopped after you put Collinsworth in the good tier. Better luck next time. ;-)
Lol! I know a lot of people hate him, but he’s so much better than the majority
@@joericottonehe's not tho, only ones worse is probably buck and aikman

I'd like a sequel video, but for the halftime crews.
That's a solid idea! thanks for watching!
Harlan with the Malcolm Butler interception is the best call ever. Course i am a Pats fan.
As a giants fan, our best SB moment (tyree catch) was a horribly commentated moment by joe buck & aikman

You just about named every crew on CBS, NBC, Fox and Amazon
Congrats on 1K! Love the topic change up
thanks so much!
You come up with interesting NFL topics to debate about! Keep up the great work
Appreciate the support, thanks for watching!
Of the play by play guys who no longer call games, I always liked Sam Rosen as well as Dick Stockton when they called games for Fox
Those smaller teams have a lot of gold for sure! Thanks for watching!

I miss Gus Johnson calling the NFL. His calls are unmatched!
yeah his energy is up there haha!

Al Michaels nowadays seems super bored whenever he’s calling games. I don’t if that’s just me or not. Then again he’s been calling games for who knows how long.
Kevin Harlan is the GOAT
He’s #1!
Yes! I've always despised the three-man announcing group in any sport. Grating. I'm with you 100%.
to be fair the joe buck clips are from a long time ago he's really good
Kevin burkhardt has the iconic heee's got ittt touchdown
best - harlan, joe buck, davis, and (nantz and Michaels 15-20 years ago). worst - levy, spero dedes, tirico - big piles of dog excrement. al michael's is actually a hologram - they have people behind the scenes who cobble together past audio.
Jim nartz and tony romo is hosting the super bowl in saints stadium
Romo glazing will not be tolerated. I would take anyone over Tony.
I’m not gonna lie, Adam Amin for FOX and Andrew Catolon for CBS have to be the most underrated
Because Amin is a Bears fan?
Nobody will ever be better than john madden But my favorites today is aikmen in Joe buck. Kevin H and Chris Collinsworth n mike
I’ll admit to a certain degree of bias as a Dodger fan, I think Joe Davis is one of the better announcers. You can tell he has a baseball background when he incorporates baseball analogies in a NFL Broadcast.

Thoughts on Ian Eagle and Charles Davis
the thing is , your saying greg gumble has no energy and thats why u dont like him, But joe davis has Good energy but ya dont like him for that either
Middle ground - Jim Nantz is the standard

amazing how valuable a great announcer is! thanks for watching!
Kevin Harlan goat commentator in Nfl and Nba
Iconic for sure!
Good video man agreed with your list. I'd like to hear your opinion on booger when he tried calling games back in 2018😅
tony romo almost said the n word in the afc championship game
I'll have to rewatch and listen for it
Chris Collinsworth is the absolute worst. He gives Mahomes a tongue bath whenever he commentates during their game.
😂😂 I’ll still take him over Sanchez
I pity you.
well i don't even think about you@@mrbillinsf
Hahaha
@joericottone Let's face it you'll never get another Pat Summerall and John Madden.
Joe Davis D tier and Collinsworth B tier yiiiiiiiiiiiiikes.
joe buck be inconsistent 😂
no doubt
Man i dunno about that Joe take, i kinda dig it
Looking forward to a new video to where Brady fits in
Ian Eagle & Charles Davis should be #2, Catalon & Matt Ryan are solid, Dedes & Achuleta receive unessessary hate I think they are solid
Your Wrong About Joe Davis, He is Better than All of the other Announcers
I really dislike Joe Buck.
Dude that's funny, I think Kevin Harlan has the most obnoxious voice & I always turn it on mute eventually bahaha
In my opinion i would put Ian eagle and Stan van gundy in here somewhere but overall great list!
Eagle is underrated for sure!
Tony romo is by FAR the worst. He’s the only announcer that’s ever made me mute my tv
Personally I hate hate hate tony romo. He always just says things that were so obvious to everyone.
Jim is the best of course but , romo just ruins it for me.
Yeah he's not for everyone! thanks for watching!
You absolutely know ball
As a Patriots fan I’m lucky we still get Harlan alot
He’s the king if 1 o clock
I can’t wait for NBC to air NBA games 😮😃
Thom brennaman is the absolute worst of the worst. Boring as hell, lack of care for the game. Just a guy who didn't belong in a booth
As there is a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that will be a home run
I don’t get the Joe Davis hate, he’s actually a good announcer
Ill be revisiting this after the season

Charles Davis isn’t on here but I just want to say he is garbage I get so mad when he’s calling my teams game

Good list. I’m assuming Charles Davis was also dishonorably discharged for being biased and awful
haha dishonorably discharged is correct! appreciate it!
Greg Olsen is a shade worse than Buck and probably the worst part of football season. He's obnoxious with no flow.
Joel meyers was a great announcer
Tony Romo cracks me up for some reason
Joe Davis is a w
Ian Eagle is the goat

Cris Collinsworth so damn annoying
