This song is something special, because it can emphasize your actual emotional state. Most times i get goosebumps but it also made me cry in grief and in joy. Haven't experienced anything like this before with a song.
Same here. My dog Odin died 22.03.22. I was hearing this song around that time constantly. So now you can guess what images comes to my mind while hearing Zeit
That's exactly what Rammstein does to me since decades. I was crying with Rammstein in the 90ies already, even when the lyrics were way too deep to understand. Today I still enjoy crying to their songs

The 3 female Norns (named: Urd, Verdandi and Skuld) are deities in Norse, Germanic mythology who are responsible for shaping human destiny (past, present and future )
according to the Plato and Goethe (Faust) references they are most probably the Moirai or the Parcae and not the Nornes, but that might be like splitting hairs.. And it's not about destiny but rather fate! ...Makes a huge difference in terms of the songs meaning.
nornes are not really a part of german history/mythology

Time is death. They are the same. No matter if it goes backward (1st part of the video) or forward (second part of the video) - time always leads to death and always to life and again to death, to life, to death ..... Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust.....

Another thing that came to my the babies being put back in to the mother to be born again on earth and also coming back in a sense they died on earth and are now being born in the other world and their birth or rebirth on earth is them already starting to die because as soon as your born your dying..your dying to live or as Rammstein put it "Wir sterben weiter bis wir leben" "We keep dying until we live" because in a sense what we perceive as dying is us actually being born again into the other world that's why the girl in the end seems happy when she dies because she knows that her death here means her being born over there..if that makes any Sense?

Noo! You stopped it before the end of the credits! The end is relevant, its when the sound escalates to a point in a crescendo... please listen to it in its entirety, never cut off credits on Rammstein songs, they are integral part of the art!
My interpretation and thought was time goes on like a continuous cycle and those rare occasions when we are truly happy of course we want time to stop. The showing of the sand and hourglass ⌛ time keeps going and them showing the scenes reversing to me meant a desire to go back in time either to the moment of birth and start our lives over or to before we're even born saying no i don't even want to be born i want to go back before i was even conscious of my own existence and mortality. Them being blindfolded to me was no one knows whats going to happen in the future we don't know what kind of lives these babies are going to have.
