Security camera in video: eufyofficial.com/qd5VfV
Yo, you became a great editor. The videos are getting to be damn near Hollywood. Always enjoyable, good job.
That really looks like a good camera....Thanks Nathan...
Shoe🇺🇸
@@steveshoemaker6347- Even the ERC trim up cuts smell great Nathan!
I installed a Eufy security camera system several years ago and so far the only trespasser has been a skunk that shows up at the front door in the middle of the night on a regular basis. He claims he just wants to be friends, but like you say, you can't trust anybody anymore. 😀
For a split second there I was pondering whether the hole in the ground was for the post or the tresspasser. 😂
😂😂
Use an asphaltic roof coating on the below grade part of your posts. Allow time for complete drying and it will give you 30-50 years rot-free. Have done it in several locations and has worked very well.
Usually spent brass and an excavator is enough of a hint they should not be in that area.
You looking at the camera smiling while in a piece of equipment gives me a chuckle everytime.😄 Please don't stop doing that.
Well, according to Wikipedia "Juniperus virginiana, also known as eastern redcedar, red cedar, Virginian juniper, eastern juniper, red juniper, and other local names, is a species of juniper native to eastern North America from southeastern Canada to the Gulf of Mexico and east of the Great Plains." It's another reason for an argument, along with pineapple on pizza, how to hang your toilet paper, and beans in chili or not. I enjoy your videos no matter what you call the tree.
I never knew that tree had so many names !! I just recognize it as a Cedar. It has its own distinctive colour and smell !!
Thanks Nathan for a very interesting, informative video. With all the equipment you have on your property, as well as your home & contents, I think it is imperative that you need a good monitoring system on your property. It looks a pretty impressive unit. Cheers my friend, Don from South Australia.
Thank you Nathan
Sorry you guys missed the eclipse, since you were prepared. Especially for Bruno, he would have enjoyed that. It was the same for us here, cloudy and drizzling rain. Chickens are growing like weeds. Yes, that is red cedar! Doesn't matter what any one else says. I know those things they are everywhere. That really made a nice post.
I put up a Lorex system (6 cameras) after a spree of vandalism. Made alot of honest people real fast. Pop a solar motion light on the post too. Even with night cameras a solar light makes face identification 100%
UV is a pain when it comes to wood. Us Floridians know a thing or two about UV.
Thanks Much Nathan! If I would have a run away dog and thought it might be on your property, I would have come to your house, introduced myself and asked permission to look. Snooping around someone’s property is never a good idea. We saw a little of the eclipse when a hole opened up in the clouds but you couldn’t blink. Of course as soon as it was over it cleared up! Many Blessings! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
Nathan, bummer on the eclipse. I live in NE Ar. and it was clear and beautiful here. I'm 71 in June so this was likely my last oppotunity to see a total eclipse. It was neat to see street lights come on at 1:45 in the afternoon.
Hey Nathan, many years ago when I was young an older guy told me to work smarter not harder and today's project is a perfect for a few small changes to really boost your efficiency. Apply the sealer, THEN go dig your hole while sealer is drying! Small change, big time savings!- Tyler
Whether cedar or juniper, that is some beautiful wood
Thanks 👍
Your roller comment was exactly what was going through my mind when you said it. LOL
😂😂😂👍
Overcast in Rochester (NY) during the eclipse, but sure got dark. Keep on sawing!
👍👍
Same here in Eastern Niagara County- an hour and a half later was bright sunshine ☀. Funny thing is , I had my sons dog with me and he came to me whining a bit as if to ask what the hell is going on 😅
I'll always remember being told the window frames were made of Red Cedar.
Before I noticed the rot.
Nathan, looks like 👍 you’re all set for the trespassers from here out excellent video 😮😊❤
Yeah, here in Metro Nashville, ir was overcast also. Sunny after overcast. Then as eclipse got closer, back to too cloudy. Sure got dark, but had to watch others videos to actually see the event. Ty for taking us along
My neighbors house has a pasture that they used red cedar for fence post on and they are almost 50 years old and still solid not loose at all. They're 18" in the ground with not concrete and the soil around here is red clay. Eastern red cedar is an amazing wood. Almost good as locust.
You might look into your time management. "Why you ask" You cut a log down to size when you picked it up leaving the cutoff at the wood pile. If you took the whole log up tp the saw mill and cut it to size at the mill you would of saved your time getting the chain saw also Mr Koto time when you go back and pick up the cut off to mill it into 4/2
Lol, I'm sure he wasn't worried about time. Nathan knows exactly what he is doing and does a great job.
Its about making a video of a certain time length and incorporating his southern accent as much as possible.
People don't want efficiency when watching videos, they want to waste time.
Looking into time management for yourself, you have to ask, why are you wasting time on videos when you could be doing things yourself?
The eclipse was great. Black as midnight at 1600. Could even see the stars.
Love Eufy! I have the floodlight cams and the Solo solar cam. Excellent product!
😂 Hay Nathan what kind of blade do you use on saw mill LMAO.
I use an Eufy cam myself, it's great, catches any movement and sends an alert to my phone.
Be sure to coat the wood on the top you pressed on. I had two of those and the wood split in the heat of summer.
Nice camera, Nathan. And a beautiful post to mount it on. When in college, during summers, I made money digging post holes with Dad’s tractor and post hole digger, and building board fences. I never used concrete or anything on the posts. One fence I know is still standing 55 years. Those early creosote posts lasted a long time, there was so much tar pressed into the wood. In Home Depot today, you can buy a crowbar with a blade on one end and a cast knob on the other. The secret to a well set post, using soil, is to pound the soil very tight every 6 to 12 inches as soil is added around the post using that knob. Cheaper, too. The soil at the post bottom is most important to be packed tight.
I have my alarm set for 15 years from now to check back to your channel and see if the post (and camera) lasted. Perty post there!
See you then!!
we had to put up 4 wireless cameras around house and our shed - same problem people on our property
I'm sure that your red cedar post will last longer than the treatment post they make now. I built my chicken coop with treated runners and they rotted out in less than ten years. I hope to see Bruno again... I enjoy it when we get to see you guys go for a ride 👍
I can't remember you ever showing cedar with rot in the middle.---(Thanx for the quick smile!) I'll be watching the weather forecast for your area. Another storm is headed our way this weekend, you'll get it in 4-5 days.
Thanks, Nathan. I am seriously thinking about getting that camera. But even with it, S&W is a must. I’m sorry you didn’t see the eclipse. I have pictures from friends across the country who are amateur astronomers. I wish I could send them to you.
That's some nice timber.
You could hide the camera wires under the cap.
Nathan! Take the time to sharpen your saw dang it! That thing has been dull for a while. It is hard on your bar and the engine. If your chain doesn't have the bite you can over rev your engine. Your bar can overheat.
We have 5 eufy cameras. Barn, 3 on the house and one on a working pen 200 yds from the wireless unit. Love them.
Nice 👍
hello Nathan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Nathan & Friends Randy
Red cedar! Should last at least 50 years no matter the soil.
I’ve seen cedar post that were more than 100 years old and all they were was just a tree cut down split a few times and buried
hope so!
Great video! I just ordered one! Thanks!
Good deal 👍👍
I just installed a Eufy 340 outside my garage and am monitoring it while traveling down under.
"I don't assume anybody is telling the truth anymore - to be honest with you." Unfortunate state of the world today. Protect you and yours. God bless !
lot of cedar, black locust , and osage fence post been use for woven wire fence
i wish i had a few of them cedars for my mill i been milling telephone poles lately for chicken coups they all treated poles !
The last trespasser I had was a bear hunter who said he was looking for his hunting dogs. Um… most bear dogs I have seen have gps tracking collars. I told the guy I would look for his dogs. Oddly he took off without waiting for me to find them.
the higher the camera is mounted harder it will be to be messed with personally the 17 footer with 3 ft + in ground leave 14 above ground that a good distance depending on how tall the trespasser is
Nice camera. Looks good for what its needed for!
Thanks, I definitely be looking into that. I really need one of my farm, it's about an 1.5 hour away from where I am right now.
Glad I could help
I use the Eufy cameras as well. They have been in full time operation for almost a year without any issues like random shutdowns and outages I experienced with another brand.
Nice video and I think you just gave me a good idea and some tools to solve a bird house and feeding station in my back yard. I always learn something from you Nathan! 👍👍
Glad I could help. Come down and I’ll saw you a post
I cannot abide trespassers.
I have an eufy and it’s worth every penny!
Clouds cleared at just the right time in East Texas my first and last eclipse
Looks like a good system to have Nathan will have a look.
Good deal Nathan, better safe than sorry. Stay safe around there. Fred.
I have 2 of those cameras. They rarely get below 97% even with our dismal winters.
Nice job Nathan.
Very interesting, thank you, RB, Nova Scotia.
Glad you enjoyed it
Monday morning Offee and a few days behind on my video enjoyment but that’s ok. Will definitely look into that security camera option. Clearly you had intruders or they would have driven up to your door and asked if you had seen a stray dog. 🇺🇸
Here in Idaho you can dig about a foot, hit cliche, and your auger will go no further.
Seen the eclipse over here in Greeneville for just a min just as it was starting then the clouds moved back in
When you said trespassers I thought perhaps you meant raccoons or other varmints. A bear wouldn't be a varmint, but would be a trespasser.
Thank you for the video. May GOD bless.
Thank you too
Good job ‼️🥰
Nice to have quality security cameras to monitor locations.
We were down by Branson Missouri and seen the eclipse. But my dad back in Michigan said it didn’t show here
I was getting really excited when you whipped out the fast2k stuff. Didn't get to see how much it expanded though.
I needed an extra bag
The new mic(s) is working great, had to turn the volume down. Great improvement over your old one(s).
Glad to hear it!
I need that camera at the mill . Thanks for sharing .
Thanks for watching
I’d make a bird-house or bat-house for the top of the post and find a way to disguise the camera. Wireless cameras can be electronically jammed, so not seeing the camera could be a benefit.
Hang in there buddy!
Hey Nick!
Nathan you know that hateful momma cat of yours would send any stray dog on its way in a hurry. 😂😂😂😂 go momma cat.
Keep it going.
i liked the comment about the length of the pole. not long enough? make another'n
Even with security camers, you can't watch them 24/7 but you do get pictures.
That cap is probably oversized because pressure treated is usually a bit oversized . A 2x8 is usually closer to 7 1\2 instead of 1\4 . Don't feel bad about missing the eclipse. I'm in upstate NY and drove two hours north to be right in the middle of it. It was supposed to be the best place (weather wise ) to view it. They called for slightly cloudy skies . Minutes before it was supposed to happen , heavy clouds moved in. We never saw more than a quarter of it at any time and half of the time it was 100% hidden behind the clouds ☹
I'm buying a couple for the farm!
bout time!
Nathan I think you need a few more cameras to check on the saw mill also and another place you think of
12 above ground
Next eclipse is 2090, one for Bruno I think. We will be long gone.
I’m diggin those new glasses! And I’m TELLIN the truth😂😂What kind are they?
We were pretty far from the path of totality. It wouldn't have mattered. Rained all day. I watched NASA's coverage. Very good views.
Have to ask why didn't you mount the camera on the shop wall.
another suggestion for the excavator's name: Klawto
Ah, rats, sorry to hear about you and your family missing out on the eclipse. I drove up to Meadville, PA from Pittsburgh and got a great show.
Oh, wow. Sorry that happened to you!
👍👍
HI N 😊😊 that's a post hold digger U can use them w a tractor now they run off the PTO shaft and they are alot better than the old post hold digger that U had 2 dig all of them by hand 😮😮 OMG 4 11 2O24
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
Confirmed
just a suggestion, trail cams in places that you don't disclose on the channel, along with the security cameras, My former boss, has over 200 acres and part of the Security System is rail cams that are dispersed randomly over the property , have caught at least a dozen or more unwanted people on the property.
18:21 is the quality better than what your video shows? it shows a really distorted picture!
hi there nice tool /toy / and nice post . .best to all . john
Thanks 👍
Nathan, where I live, los angeles adjacent, we call that "casing the job", where burglars check out a potential burglary site in broad daylight, go home, think about what tools and ladder they might need, (or metal-cutting tool) and then show up a few days later to do the deed. I still think you need a burglar alarm in each of your buildings or indoor sites. You know what's in them but the bad guys don't and that is enticing. axe heads? hand tools? anything they can carry. You are a former cop. Alarm. Alarm. Alarm. And for God's sake, don't go out there to engage in a gun battle. some crazies are armed with AK47's and the like. Not worth it. Note that your youtube site can be a big advertisement as to what they might want. and 1 camera is not enough. what was their path onto your property? and what s their exit path, or would they be going out from a different direction?
How to keep the birds off the top of the camera? Hope it's not an issue, good luck.
How long is the wire on the solar panel Thanks for the
not too long, maybe 20inches,
keep your eyes open for those trespassers… I’m thinking if there were two young men, they were scoping your place out for theft. Make sure they know the cameras are out there. And let your neighbors know.
👋🏼
looking forward to the Bigfoot pics
Me2!!
If I were down that way, I'd dress up as Bigfoot and run across the property :D
Three foot in the ground.. I caught that one…
What happens when they see you’ve got a camera, then come up from behind and cover it? Would a much taller post not have been better?
They could be watching your channel as well to line up and plan for their next visit. Hopefully they won't be back.
It’s really to bad that You have to do the camera ! And it’s also a shame that You don’t trust anyone , as it used to be people weren’t out to take whatever is not nailed down ! I’m starting to sound like an old( I actually am,but I’m in denial) but when I was young people didn’t HAVE to lock there doors and I lived in a fairly populated area . A town but thickly populated . Good Luck with the camera and I hope that doesn’t get stolen in the middle of the night !
