Join two friends, Michael Mackie and Lonita Cook, on a whimsical travel adventure as they journey to unique destinations within a few hours from Kansas City.
To kick off their travels, the duo will head to the historic East Bottoms of Kansas City, where they delve into the intriguing history of Kansas City’s Electric Park. This local hot spot sparked Walt Disney’s vision for the world’s first theme park, Disneyland.
The next stop is Excelsior Springs, where the pair explore mysteries and ghost stories surrounding landmarks like The Elms Hotel and the Hall of Waters. The road trip will take the two to Hamilton, Missouri, home to the world’s largest spool of thread, where the colorful threads of this small
town come to life. This pitstop will also feature a look at the Missouri Star Quilt Company and a stroll through the J.C.Penney Museum.
This whirlwind adventure will wrap up in Marceline, Missouri, with an exclusive peek into the life of a young Walt Disney by visiting the Walt Disney Hometown Museum and the Disney Family Farm.

I lived in The Kansas City area for over 16 years and I had no idea these places existed I am so excited to see all the new episodes you’ve got coming and I can’t wait to come back up there and visit. I live in Florida, but I’m excited to see all the new places you guys discover and add them to my vacation destination spots. I’m so thankful you talked about it on Dana and parks because I wouldn’t have known about this show otherwise! Bravo and congratulations to both of you the show is fantastic!
