    Sorry for the Pete & Repeat. It was late I was tired & Frankly I just didn’t catch it during editing. Sorry everyone. I was just really excited to share with you My New Snap-On Scan Tool and wanted to see other’s opinions if they own the Triton. Thanks again. When I get to know it better I’ll do a separate video 🍻🤙

    Snap On’s Jbox is called the Pass Thru Pro IV. It’s basically a CarDAQ Plus 3 with Snap On software. Made by Drew Tech.

    Im still a big fan of snap on but I do have many scanners, this line isn’t new been out for years but I have a Zeus, Autel Ultra, Autel IM608, Lauch Torque, Bosch ADS625 etc etc I tell you what the Autel Ultra for 5k is absoutley awesome I can’t speak highly enough about it. Whole new animal. The Ultra comes with a Mega can J2534 and 4ch scope built in. Does topology like Chrysler, also had pin out and guided component tests etc. one thing is the snap on fills in holes that the Autel has and visa versa you almost need them both, good luck with it I’m sure you’ll love it.

    I have a Ethos Edge Pro. I like it because it's hard wired. ( I am EMF Sensitive. ) Works good for scanning modules and clearing lights. All the Dealerships I worked at liked to take advantage of me being able to clear lights on cars for them. The dealer body shop had me use it a lot for them as well.

      Welding Junkie I actually just got my first scan tools. Started with a very basic code reader, the Launch Creader. But then had the opportunity to get a Thinkscan TS601. Not even sure all the things I can use it for yet! Haha. Although it’s still bottom of the line compared to something like this snap on.

    My boss just bought the Zeus. Honestly I kind of like the old scan tool better. The Zeus display so much data at once, it can’t keep up with the live numbers, It lags a little bit. Still trying to get familiar with it.

    Why do you need a scope for smog check in California? I'm a big fan of the scope and use mine and about 75% of my diags but I'm confused on the smog check. I'm in Cleveland ohio far from Cali. What if you have a scope but don't know how to use it?

      I may have missed spoke. You don’t need the Internet to turn on the scan tool. But you’re gonna want the Internet in order to use their pro link/identify fix product which will give you known repair situations to other mechanics and technicians have run into. I just got it this evening and I have not even begun to scratch the surface as far as using it or what all it comes with. So when I get a chance to use it more and become more proficient with the newer platform I’ll do a different video about it

  • @dro2204

    Get that strap on and take it.. they don’t spit on it either... I won’t ever go back to snap on tools; bunch of knock offs with the huge ass mark up... the. Sad thing is some of my HF tools have outlasted a few snap on tools and a lot of my Mac tools.

    Why not Autel? They seem to be far superior and half the price plus they have better warranties. SMA uses Autel and he is one of the best i have seen.

    • @tobbytownsend9968

      I have used the MaxiSys every day, & I can tell you there are pids the Autel won't even recognize. Also it doesn't bi-directional in all systems. I used to borrow a Snap-On tool about every other day to diag BCM problems. BTW Bosch/OTC is junk, super laggy & can only do half of what a comparable Snap-On would do. Haven't got to play with a Launch/Matco scanner (Matco's big scanners are rebranded Launch).

    • @tobbytownsend9968
      @tobbytownsend9968 4 года назад

      @@JustinDowDIYcentralhighway Snap-On has had good scanners for years. They are a good choice. The biggest drawback has always been the way they update & the cost to do it. I hear on the Launch you can skip years & then update it all at once for a single update cost.
