- Our hard work to produce these fine crops of outstanding gaited mule colts started 8 years ago when we acquired Missouri Traveler MyAss. It has continued as we populate our brood mare heard with the finest well bred gaited mares we can acquire. The program regenerates itself each time a mare drops her precocious cargo in a special hiding place for us to search out.
This is our last colt to be born in 2012. We will add photos to missourimuleco.com and youtube as they grow and other Missouri Mule are trained so SUBSCRIBE to MMCO'S channel add us to your home page. Hope you enjoy the colts and upcoming trail rides we will post this fall. We also put out a wonderful bi-weekly e-mail you can sign up for at missourimuleco.com.

That is a handsome mule….gorgeous coloring….
I can't believe she's out there in flip flops
Be raises horses and mules so I think ge was checking the new addition to make sure no veterinarian needed. They hav three hours before stomach wall liking hardens to get first blue milk to ensure heathy foal. Nice looking mule .
Handling horses in flip flops?
Hello,friend great,video so,beautiful and very sweet I love them both thank,you 🐅🐆😘🤣🙄😎🤩🤩🤩😋
In these instances I do potentially with a bamboo pole. I build their curiosity of the end of the pole until the point they are wanting to sniff it. And then the object is to scratch and put them with the end of the pole. I let their mouth which is essentially their hand become acquainted with the end of the pole first before proceeding in other parts of the body. Is the animals gentle down,, go to a shorter gentling pole. I do this with the mother mare too most particularly,, because she needs to trust the poles first. Then we can work the babies. Toward the end of the session you can remove the poles,, as you introduce your hands. Sometimes you may have to sneak your hand up up the pole.. especially with horses. As a gentler and trainer it's a good exercise for all equine. Gentling poles are just extension of your arm and hand.
Do you have any draft mule colts ?
Why is she wearing sandals to do that???
She's careless. I don't know any horse person that doesn't wear boots.
Always let them go to you. Don't need to grab it. There is plenty of time to get him to trust you without grabbing him. Patience.
Susan Gardiner I agree
I agree. Never 'grab' them - let them either come to you or allow you to approach them with trust. Never interrupt their drinking! You can gently rub them WHILE they're drinking. Never forcefully hold them by the tail. There's no rush. Altho' obviously effective, these methods are unnecessarily aggressive.
FORCING YOUR SELF ON A MAMA HORSE BABY IS A VERY GOOD WAY TO GET BIT....
...?ĹĹL
Ĺ
Nice new babie . Can you explain what the Crooked legs are and why they are a good thing ?
I would like to buy. A mule
Hope those contracted "ballerina" tendons in front straightened out for you...
Why not just let it nurse?
Love the Pussycat photobomb!
Dovey Dossett - I loved that part!!! My cats follow me into the pasture at least twice a day. They love to hang out with the pet pigs, as well. I call one "the pig whisperer"! Once I saw the calico cat hanging out with a small herd of deer in the back of the pasture. Cats are such social butterflies!!!
the foal was just about to get its first milk when you grabbed it. that was hard to watch. but then the baby falls over because of being overhandled and you laugh? hmmmm.
Going out to pasture in flip flops to handle live animals?!?! You are an expert?
why are you touching that baby? Mom hasn't even been cleaned yet and your tugin' and pullin' on her baby. Have raised baby horses myself, I never had an issue with "imprinting" . You have Mom and Baby out in a pasture with all the other horses. Mom should have been separated days ago so the stress of the herd being so close doesn't add to what is already a stressful situation.
That baby is clearly cleaned.
I've bred mares. Never bothered the mare or baby after birth. Only checked to ensure all was ok..
Let them bond. The next day you can get more involved.
What in that bucket? Salt?? Last time when i pee in wild several Goats were patiently stand aside, lick the ground after i left, Others said that is for salt. Pool animals...i know they are hungry for salt but don't know they need a bucket of salt!
Trapping a baby isn’t a good first touch. It doesn’t even look a day old yet. Let it bond with mom and leave it the hell alone.
Ah nice bloodlines Missouri Traveler you must have some nice moving horses.
This was not compassionate . You could have waited.
Why are the mare's hind legs red???
her hind legs are red because she just birthed the colt and it is a bloody process
She just gave birth, did you watch the video at all? SMH
Don't give the poor mare and foal 2-3 days alone!
Why do humans feel the need to go interfering in the bonding between a mare and her foal who has been on the ground less then 24 hours in the bullshit pretence that they need to imprint with the foal ? They claim that if they handle the foal early it makes it easier for them to handle as it grows old which is an absolute fallacy . People should leave the mare and foal alone to strengthen their bond and if you are patient and the mare trusts you she will more then likely bring the foal to you . Humans feel that they have to control everything so they go sticking their noses in causing more harm then good and when things go wrong they blame it on the mare or the foal when if they would have left them alone they would have had a better outcome the ignorance is infuriating.
Mothers do not imprint with force and fear.
Did not enjoy this video at all.
Yeah,I do get that this was a while ago.
By physically grabbing it and hugging it’s Body and petting him and tapping him DOES NOT TEACH HIM ANYTHING.
He was absolutely afraid of them, and wanted his mama, yet your PULLING HER away from her baby, teaching him that his mother is a stranger. That’s not okay.
Let the baby in peace
If yout a person that has horses you should know to leave a new baby and momma ALONE! If i was her i would of bit you for slapping her like you did. Youd deserve it!
He’s trying to Nurse and it looks like he’s having a lot of trouble
For Gods sake leave the baby alone. He'll come to you in time.
Gah the dog is chewing on the placenta! Lol
Uhhg yeah I'd have to put a stop to that! Yuck lol
Laughing when you drop it?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??
Why are you upsetting the mother like that?
what is gaited?
PetertheGreatest1 do not wear flip flops
A gaited horse is a horse bred for a certain skill like running fast or a smoother ride
I know it's absolutely stupid and asking for a broke foot but I've been known to go feed our horses in the morning barefoot🤐 but I wouldn't post it in a video to give people a reason to call me out! Lol
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! There's NO good reason for a human to get in the middle of a new foal and it's mother!! And you wonder why the mothers reject their foals... It's because of this nonsense.
I'm not an expert just an enthusiast and this was disturbing to me. Everything you and your daughter did in this situation was very selfish; a complete disregard for the mare(which you slapped for wanting to protect her colt) and the colt. Why would I consider your stable to purchase a mule knowing you treat your animals this way??
Good training
🤗👩👧🐴
OMG, that baby!!!
You people are obviously going against what God intended you're not supposed to pull the mayor away from the child
Wow why did she have to take it away. It was trying to feed. Not good knowledge or treatment of your horses and mules.
Linda linda.
O
Please..stop..you are only teaching it to NOT TRUST YOU. Poor baby!!!!!
U think she would comfort me e ha e ha e ha
Oh...god....look at all the baby miles. Like the world needs mules....l do not get it. To breed an animal that is very likely not able to breed itself.
?
Molly Mules are able to breed...
And in the old times, we did need mules.
Bad idea, waaaay to impatient
Mama. Please take your baby far away
Let momma be momma. Imprint when older. Keep your smell off the baby.
