Yesss!!! I'm so excited for you and the channel!
The transition from University into the "real world" for those of us with autism, ADHD, and their attached mental health problems is genuinely one of the hardest times for those of us who took that course in life.
Give yourself the time and the grace to find your footing. The job hunt will be harder for you, and many people will not understand that. I thought my failure in the job market was a direct reflection of me. That is not true, and I wanted to share this so that as a neurodivergant community, we can allow ourselves the understanding and compassion that others often do not extend to us.
I'll still be here no matter how long it takes for the content to come rolling. And hey, fat people wear clothing too, so I'm hyped to hear sidebars on costuming wherever they fit in!!!!
Thanks, I needed that.
Thank you for sharing. Absolutely agreed that the more we share our ND truths, the better we can navigate our lives with more freedom/less shame 💜
Good luck on your new endevour and your job hunting! :D Looking forward to more videos! :D
Hi Sara!
I think this is a really good change! And I'm happy you've found a name/purpose that calls to your interests.
As a fat person, it's hard to find other fat voices, especially when seeking other opinions at times when fatness is in the culture's attention. Knowing that my fat feelings or fat rage are not alone is comforting, and this name will hopefully help you reach an audience who needs to hear you.
All my best in your continued creations!
I think that’s good choice. I like you videos on culture also fellow autistic! I only realized into my 30s that I was autistic and it explained so much in my social life. The current thought is that we girls mask much more then boys so we don’t get diagnosed as much as much as boys.
I don’t think anyone was looking at girls for it in the 80s. Particularly as I am AuDHD
My grandmother had 8 siblings. Out of all their grandchildren, about half the boys received an autism diagnosis IN CHILDHOOD. All the girls got diagnosed with personality disorders.
@@Sara_TheFatCultureCritic this! AuADHD here as well, born in 78. I appreciate your channel & willingness to be vulnerable.
@@kristoohy8868 much the same in my family.
Love your culture critique videos and subscribed for them. I'm glad you're broadening your channel!
Yay! Congrats on the rebrand & looking forward to the Christmas special. Also I love this look! ✨😃✨
btw I've been thinking about this for two days, and realized that I've crossed a line here. You've said repeatedly that you don't welcome comments on your appearance, and I just unthinkingly went ahead and did that anyway. Whether it landed right or not, I wasn't thinking about it, and I apologize for crossing that boundary. 💜
Putting the 17th on my calendar!
Congratulations on the rebrand. I wish you the best of luck for your career changes. I'm looking forward to more videos :) I'm particularly interested in hearing what you have to say about Autism. You're so clearly articulate and empathetic so I think you could really help expand people image of what autistic people are and can be.
I am still feeling a lot of imposter syndrome around it all, but I’m learning and hopefully we can all learn together.

Overcoming this feeling is incredibly hard for people with adhd - if not impossible. Always try to think about that there are people who need to hear exactly what you have to offer in that situation. If you only do it for that one person, your work is more than valid.
💜
That is an amazing decision, I think, and I'm so looking forward to your content!
7:25 ". . . about a capitalist taking responsibility. It's such a fairy tale." LOL! Congratulations, Sara, on the name change! The new logo looks great! Excited about the 17th. ❤
I found you talking about Babylon 5 Costumes, I had my perspective expanded during the time Canada found out how much worse the Residential schools where, and I'll continue to be around.
On to "The" well I don't see any other channels named this way, also I've been watching Pokemon Nuzlockes I've hear lots calling themselves The Best Pokemon Nuzlocker. So no there's no reason not to call yourself "The Fat Culture Critic"
Exciting news! Looking forward to all of it! :)
What an amazing person you are ! Love your honesty and your views.
Glad you're doing what brings you joy in creating! Excited for the future 💜
Love the channel! Just watched your critique of the whale video. You are very intelligent and articulate. I just saw the film this afternoon and I’d be very curious to hear your thoughts on the film vs the play, and if Darren Aronofsky’s interpretation changes your thoughts on the subject at all. Happy Holidays ❤ 🎄
I appreciate the compliments but I won’t be watching the film. It took me days to process the triggers from reading the play, and I have seen other fat people’s reactions to watching it. Choosing to see the film would be an act of self harm.
@@Sara_TheFatCultureCritic That’s certainly more than reasonable. Appreciate your perspective. Happy Hollidays!
Super excited for this next chapter of your channel! 💕
I am here for The Fat Culture Critic!❤* insert Aragorn "You have my sword" meme here *
Love the name!
Hope it helps you find a bigger audience of people willing to listen to your insights!
Goethe was thinking ages about whether to go with "novel" or "the novel" - you are thoughtful, not silly.
Or both
I mean, now that you point it out, there's probably *some* relationship to our wider cultural obsession with exceptionalism that makes 'the' the default for every persona that is identifying themselves as a category, and I think that deserves consideration. Although I think if you had gone with 'a' you'd just end up in an interminable battle of people autocorrecting out of habit
So excited!! ❤
Love the new name 💐
Open your comments on the whale video, would love to see some feedback
There were too many abusive comments. I don’t want to expose my viewers to that or myself.
I LOVE PRIDE 2014. Also congrats on your channel name change, I can't wait to see what you do in the future.
this is beautiful.
Its so funny to me that a lot of the feelings you expressed in the whale review was actually what the movie was representing. The anger that you said you sarcastically said you needed to keep hidden? The movie was all about being honest and real. Those who weren't drove themselves to ruin. That it dehumanized fat people? The main character was the most human person in the film! Every other character around him was putting up a facade and using him as their own personal project to bury their own emotions.
I won't be able to watch it the day of, but definitely will afterwards! Good luck with job hunting
Your Whale review was the most upsetting thing I’ve seen in so long.
You keep saying it’s a trite, exploitative film that deals with gay trauma because the topics been over-explorer. Imo it hasn’t? Can any topic be over explored? I don’t think so???
I would like if you activated comments for that video to see some discussion
Explored and exploited are too separate things, I suggest you read about the bury your gays trope. Even if it needs exploration you don’t do that by making something that perpetuates harm on another group.
Comments are closed because of the level of abuse I received and I won’t be turning them on.
Cool
