Play turcotte and akil and clarke
Consistent goal scorer, playmakers and goal tending
At this point I'm for a bit of a youth movement. Give Turcotte, Fagemo, Thomas, Clarke, (Kaliyev?), and possibly Portillo a shot at making the team. If this opens up enough cap space to bring back Arvidsson or another RH winger, even better. 8 of the top 9 forwards are already locked in as well as 4 defensive spots. The roster is currently good enough to be a fringe playoff team but not a Cup contender. The gap with Edmonton widened this year. Give the kids a shot and who knows, maybe some take a step forward that can push the Kings to the next level. If not, you have Kopitar's and Doughty's contract coming off the books soon and that'll help with a transition or rebuild.
Eddie, I find my hatred for Kings management has now fallen as low as pulling for either of the finalist teams to sweep and get the series over with. I want the Kings to have the opportunity to get rid of P.L. Dubois and have all the time to do so. If they do not do what is right for the team, then their "old buddy system" will come back to beat and bury them. I couldn't be any more succinct about them. When a team has reached it's peak under any given management team...and that team then begins retreating behind their own contracts, it's time for revenge. I really did appreciate Dean Lombardi when he was in charge. But he followed a similar pattern. Apparently, once he had gone a far as he could go, he, then, began destroying the team via overly generous contracts, bad/desperate trades and stripping of resources via their farm teams. There is always a delicate balance, and few GMs seem to have the gift of keeping everything in balance. Obviously blake never had that gift. His team did come close...but no cigar!

Fire Blake
Hole to fill? Nobody like Dustin Brown on the roster to lead the grind through 4 teams for a Stanley Cup. Blake and Luc thought the future was speed. BS. Teams, trends, and systems come and go. The physical and mental grind necessary for the Stanley Cup will never change. This fact should be the blueprint of coaching and roster. You must pressure the other teams net and collapse and defend your own net with a high level of discipline and keeping it clean. The draft philosophy has already changed for size, but size doing the right things. Draft, Free Agency, and trades: let's look for size, speed, skill, and sandpaper not necessarily in that order.
In regards to the forwards, all the players he mentioned do need to get a long look to see where, and if, they fit in. The problem with bringing up Fagemo, Turcotte, and Clarke is that while they are skilled players they haven't addressed the toughness issue that the Kings have. This will again be a team that is built for the regular season and not built for the playoffs. I really hope the youngsters do well when they make the NHL, I just feel that bigger changes need to be done.
For me the main issue is a right handed shooter.
Last season we played tge season with Vilardi traded and Arvidsson injured. The power play struggled and the lines were constantly reshuffled.
Thomas and Fagemo might fill the void but if Arvi walks and Lewis retires that leaves Laferriere as the only guarenteed right handed roster forward next season.
We neeed at least 1 right handed scoring veteran to go along with Laferriere, Fagemo, and Thomas.
I like Arvi, but we need a player with less problems. Nothing against him, but we have endured a lot of man games lost to injuries last season with Arvidsson.
If he goes on to sign somewhere else and does well i'll be glad for him but at this point we need more than maybe's...
We need a body in that spot.
Sabres fan here giving my 2 cents. A bunch of Sabres fans ripping on Krebs I just don’t get it except 15 years of suck rotted their brains but I think Krebs would be a great fit in LAs system. The kid is a stud in the wrong system. Idk how many players leave buffalo and go on to have great careers and cups.
Nope we don’t need Talbot or Grundstrom or lizzotte. We need change let arvy and Lewis leave.
Kings stuck in perma-mediocrity mode….not bad, but not good enuf
Please NO to Lizotte, Lewis and Roy! Lizotte cant score can’t play defense and gets tossed around. Lewis waste of cap and space. Zero offense and blocks Clark’s progression. Either Akil or Turcotte can replace the first two. If Roy is kept Kings will continue to have scoring problems. No team will be worried about their defense.
The NHL playoffs were boring, Edmonton vs Florida cup. 👎👎👎
Only good part is watching the Oilers make a joke of themselves 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
