I don’t mean to be rude, but that voice crack at 1:28 was just what I needed today, I love fishing & laughing this video has both.....there’s quite a few in here
Been watching your videos for a couple of years now. You and River Certified took my catfishing hobby to the next level in getting my own kayak. My section of the Cape Fear river here in NC has been a tough nut to crack but after a couple of trips I always love pulling out the gulp minnows and slamming blue gills at the local pond. Thanks again for all that you do and I look forward to the next video.
My wife is not much for fishing but she loves sitting back on the couch of our pontoon boat and catching hybrid stripped bass, white bass and large mouth bass. We don't keep LG mouth bass and only keep enough for a meal. Took me a while to figure out how to get her to enjoy fishing. Now she wants to go every weekend.
I tried trolling with shad raps after seeing you do it a few years ago. Man is that fun!! My daughter caught a 4 ft gar doing that one day. I never knew that was a thing until your video. Everyone should give it a shot!
My dad nailed a decent channel cat on his ultralight rod and that jig setup… hell of a fight. My dad and I are both loving the gulp setup now that we tried it. I got myself a little ultralight setup and it’s becoming some of my favorite fishing now. Never appealed to me very much. I’m thankful for you and your advice and getting us on it.
Hey Justin, I am just below you in the Cleveland area. First I seek out trolling videos because I love to troll. I may be rare in that respect. I also love panfish for catfish bait. I will drop a live bluegill to the bottom and drift it. This works well for me. A live bluegill on one rod and a cut skipjack or cut white bass. That bluegill rod goes down first about 90 percent of the time. I fish the Tennessee as well as the Hiwassee Rivers under the same conditions you fish up the road. You shoulkd have more faith in the Bluegills. Just saying, lol...... have a good day dude.
Nice video mister Justin love your videos keep up the good work I appreciate your work, I try to watch all of your videos you are my favorite person to watch catch fish on RUclips
Hey, man! I just got some of those gulp minnows. They didn’t have 1/64 but did have some 1/32 oz hooks. Tried them the other day and killed the gills and crappie!
hell yea i love it they aint gonna come to u unless ur in the rite spot at the rite time but goin to them makes it more fun with alot more fish u got this bubby show em how its done
Now we do have skipjack in a couple lakes here but, it would cost me 200 bucks in fuel to get there and back. I can buy lots of skipjack for 200 bucks lol
I get a kick when someone says that a style of fishing is "too easy". Like, we do everything possible to make fishing as easy as we can make it. Basically everyone does. I've never heard of anyone going out of their way to make fishing more difficult just because.
I used trout as bait on my first outing for catfish but I had no idea that wasn't allowed . Hopefully I'll be able to land a few skipjack now that I've learned from the master.
Another good video Justin! I wish we had Skipjack here in SC but unfortunately we don't. We do have Bluegill and I wear them out with Gulp minnows thanks to you! We always use cut or live Bream for bait while catfishing. It will never let you down! Them new Costa's look great on you too bro! Keep up the awesome work and thanks again for taking me fishing today! Keep the good stuff coming! 👍🏻
Nice video, Justin. I'm of the opinion that you have to make the bait catching a part of the whole catfishing experience. We don't have Skipjack here in my part of NC. But I always enjoy dropping a tiny jig in treetops for sunfish! It's all about being on the water.
Bluegill is my go to catfish bait here in West Virginia! I just recently caught my PB channel cat on a bluegill head! I know you’re not crazy about channel cats but I’m in one of the areas where blues and flatheads aren’t very numerous. And unfortunately neither are skipjack so bluegill is the bait here. I did post the video of my new PB channel so check it out and let me know what you think! Thanks for awesome videos and tips! They’ve helped me out with my fishing and with my videos! I really appreciate it Justin!

Outstanding video. I wish we had skip jack in east Tx. Clam waters and fair winds.
I have always just used red worms or bread balls to catch bluegill until I saw your videos. Using those gulp minnows are a blast. Thanks Justin 👍🐿

That's what we use in South Carolina
Whats the best approach for finding/catching white bass?
Trolling spoons is very effective for finding and catching them
Another great video showing the viewers how it’s done. Try and stay out there loved the info ….. try to catch some jacks this week

any reason medium heavy rod versus a light?
Try a sabiki rigs that's what I use around Cincinnati area
Oh we have skipjack available, at the bait shop. Frozen, 20 bucks for two. Normally one fairly large and one small. You just caught 40 bucks worth.
Can't catch catfish without bait nice change up from your normal videos awesome turned into an ultralight video sweet
Looks fun! Hate we don’t have them here!
Now we do have skipjack in a couple lakes here but, it would cost me 200 bucks in fuel to get there and back. I can buy lots of skipjack for 200 bucks lol
Have you ever use skip jack vs blue gill to catch big catfish
Yes

Man catches bait bigger than the bass I catch.

Good morning Justin
Howdy Keith!
Cast net?
What size rod are you using? Nice video
Enjoy all you're vids. My question is do you ever target shad and use them for catfish bait??
The search box is your friend

Why don't you use shad??
Have you ever tried live blue gill for Flatheads on undercut banks or Big rock banks? That has worked well for me.
👍👍
But we do have blue gill.
