  • We finally got the first planting of BHN-589 determinate tomatoes pulled out of the high tunnel and in todays video we will be planting our first round of German Johnson Heirloom tomatoes. This is one of the most sought after varieties that we offer and hope for a good yield.

    You can use a black light flashlight at night to spot horn worms. The white stripes glow via the black light.

    I used a metal shower hook. This is my first year using the hook. I just clip the shower hook to piping, then hang hook on shower hook.

    Look on the soil. You can see their poop (frass).. Looks like coarse sawdust.

    I made my own hooks using ceiling hanger wire, then have used the roller ones the past two seasons. I’m going back to the hooks like you showed and I made as they are easier to loop over a non-wire structure to tie off. Just wrap around a couple times and the length is set.

    I have been told that you will be able to see horn worms at night when using a black light.

    There stunted, I know you gotta plant what you got but the starts with no tops will lag and lag, sorry for your loss.

    What is good for blossom rot tomatoes

      It’s a calcium deficiency, not so much in the soil but the plants ability to absorb it.try more consistent water with a balanced fertilizer and mix in some bone meal around the plant.
