Matt you have inspired me to keep going on the guitar. I’m 60 and just learning this year. Thanks for being real with your trials and short comings. I enjoy your humor and simple approach to teaching. My students like me to play Happy Birthday just for them. I give away my picks and this makes them feel special. Thanks so much…getting there my friend.
Awe I loved reading this it made me smile💓you give away your picks? My dad was a amazing guitar player. I miss him so much. He had a guitar just like Matt. I don’t know how I stumbled across this video but I think I might have to invest in a guitar and learn how to use it? I wonder what one would cost me if it were like the one Matt has? I love it, reminds me of my father so much! My dad played with George Jones in the army. He used to play music for us 6 kids at home, I loved watching him.
Best advice you ever give is strumming is about timing!! And guess what, your the only one I've heard make it sound so simple, it's not the strum, it's the timing! Thank you and God Bless!
older learner... feeling frustrated, I will keep at it. I keep hoping I will find an easy video that gives me the 'aha' bless you... thankful God loves us
You are the best (by far) teacher, easy to follow. Your sense of humor, keeps you following. Your wife, and children, are lucky. Your aura is bright. Good ol' country boy family morals. It's great learning from you. I'm 55, thought self, through my years but until children moved further away, I got time and it's always been a dream of mine to play like my uncles and aunts. Now their gone. I have been involving my children/and now, grandchildren grandchildren in music. I worked, went to school, didn't have self esteem, to pull it out and try what was locked in me all these years. It's natural. When I realized, WOW, I can play. Your right, strumming, is a hard one with each different song. I won't bore you. Thank you for being, You!!
My dad had a guitar just like that and he was so good with it. He was in the army with George Jones and they used to play their guitars together. My dad was an artist with his guitar. I wish I would’ve paid more attention to him. I was so happy I got to take my dad and my mom to George Jones concert, it was so awesome getting to do that for my dad and just seeing th look on his face and how he had his arm around my momma. They’re both gone now, they passed about a year apart. They were everything to me. I miss them so much. It’s been a long time, long struggle I tell you I haven’t seen the light you’re singing about for a long time. Hopefully soon I can live in that light again. How about “It’s been quite a while since I saw the light I had too many bad times that dimmed it down I pray for a brand new day a new start again I wanna be a new man and I know thru god I truly can….” I believe in what I say so hear me out I said I need to start again
I picked up a guitar less than 5 months ago. Never played before, been watching all your vids and bought your music bundle. My chord progression is getting way better and my strumming is 10x better! 👍🏻
Hi Matt I’ve enjoyed your lessons and going to send my granddaughter your link as she just took my guitar home after Christmas and wants to start playing. Thanks
Hey buddy, I've got an Ibanez that sounds decent, but looking at a Taylor maybe with the tax refund LOL. I lost my little brother to covid back in July he was a musician could pretty much play anything he touched,, and losing him has inspired me not only to get in shape (65lbs in 5mo) but to start really learning to play and you've been a godsend thank you brother!
For the most part my chords are clear. I will agree with you. I recently picked up my first beginner guitar to play and it was in tune but it rattles and buzzes so much. Compared to the Fender I have which still isn’t as nice at your Taylor but I could definitely tell a difference.
Man card, big green egg.. I can relate.. significant other talked me into a Gibson Hummingbird, took me 4 years to own it.. don’t play it as much as I should!
So a full package of the piano video, both guitar digital and both prime songbooks? Perhaps the sandbar ? Also what's a good, stay in tune brand or off brand guitar to buy? Thanks
Hey Matt, first of i wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU for ALL u do. Also have you yet done the song SPRINGSTEEN by Mr.Eric Church? If not could you possibly? ;)
A good guitar is also key. I have a Yamaha and it was 600, not the price of a Taylor. If you keep with the journey absolutely upgrade to a Taylor/Martin or a high end guitar of your choice!
@@CountrySongTeacher my son plays piano and is starting guitar...and I am learning guitar along with him...Thanks I sent u a message on facebook...as well. Good to hear u spread the gospel in your videos. We raise our 5 with Christ Yeshua.
I'm not sure if other people have this issue, but the pads on my fingers touch the next string below it, I dont know if they are just abnormally thick, but they are causing clarity issues, how can I get around this problem?😢😢😢
Hey Matt, I’m 12 and have always loved country music. I picked up a guitar from a flea market for 25 dollars. All my chords sound off is that old strings that need to be replaced, or is it a cheap guitar? I don’t know what brand it it it has no markings
@@CountrySongTeacher I went to a Guitar Center and tried to get a tuner and see if they’d play it, but they weren’t allowed to do that because their mechanic wasn’t there
I have been trying to buy that "4 chord bundle" but for crying out loud my computer keeps blocking me saying it's an unsecured site. Either God you Buddy, have an awesome Christmas
@@CountrySongTeacher I tune the guitar and sometimes they sound clear other times it's awful and out of rhythm. I have been looking at you for some time and I know I am doing something wrong. John Mayer & Ed Sheehan are way way overrated. I’ll never understand all the hype about those 2! 🤷🏼♂️
