So do you actually get a deed showing that you have ownership of that small section of the land? Or does it work differently than normal property ownership, since that other guy owns the whole resort?

    • @EndlessRVing

@@libertylover4575 it is a deeded individual property.

Best of luck with your new venture. I decided many years ago that I will never own anything in an HOA. I am not interested in purchasing property and signing away all of my decisions to a management committee that has the power to sue me.

I just caught this post, congratulations. never a wrong decision buying an RV lot, especially in Port Charlotte. Love that area,as we are part-timers in Punta Gorda . We just bought a class super C , so we are handcuffed a little on where we can stay, but these coaches are excepted more and more at Rv resorts around the country. One we did like when we had our class A was Great Outdoors Premier RV resort in Titusville, Fl.

Congrats on your purchase. We’ve been there and it’s a great resort. One comment on appreciation. On owner owned resorts in Florida, values have increased over 100% in just the past 3 years after limping along for 10-20 years. Developer resorts are priced at these inflated levels with little or no upgrades to the sites. With interest rates expected to rise, it will be interesting to see if these values can be maintained.

Congratulations on the new property !! I have lived in the SW Fla area for 18 1/2 years before relocating to North Georgia. Its a nice place to live as long as you don't have to deal with the hurricanes. Pt Charlotte and Punta Gorda are ( maybe I should say used to be) quiet areas, at least they were 16 years ago. Looks like a great lot you have there. Best Wishes.

Great decision for all the right reasons!! We live in SW Florida and just purchased a casita pad in Thornton Creek RV Resort (Arcadia, FL -15 mins from downtown Punta Gorda). Myakka is really special because of its proximity to the Myakka River which will bring you out to Charlotte Harbor- great sailing and boating, never congested. The nearby beaches of SW FL are the blue waters of the Gulf- Caribbean style, something the East Coast doesn’t have. You are going to absolutely love it here. Laid back, great restaurants, lots of places to adventure to- the perfect home base for your future planning. CONGRATULATIONS!! 👍🏻

Congratulations! We’re snowbirds in Riverwood, which boarders the RV park on the river. Been here for 5 years and love it. Being about midway between Sarasota and Ft Myers allows easy access to both, lots to do. Punta Gorda is also fun. Two draw backs: 1) I75 traffic is crazy. Accidents that shut down the interstate cause huge traffic issues on 41. 2) During the season, January through March, restaurants and other business are very busy - plan well in advance for services during the season. Buying now is a smart move, plenty of time to decide what to build and have it done. Good luck.

That area is beautiful and was wetlands when I lived there. CONGRATULATIONS 🎊 👏🏻 💐 🥳 on that purchase! Hi guys,
I have lived in Naples most of my life, my wife was born here, yes it’s expensive, it will get more expensive.
No diss on you guys, you the exception, a lot of your neighbors have moved here, it’s definitely not the same as it was 50 years ago, Port Charlotte -Englewood where you are is what it was like here then, it was more so 10 years ago.
That is a nice resort, great location.
I don’t think you will regret your decision. Even if you don’t use it, it’s a good investment.
The growth it increasing tremendously in the surrounding area. I believe in a year you will be very glad you bought when you did.
    Happy trails

Izzy & MJ………I’m 60 years old, I was born in Martin County, FL and never left. Yup, I’m still here. I have family in Tampa. My brother has a Class A and owns a spot similar to yours here on the east coast of Florida (directly across the state from your site and just a little lower). It’s been a gold mine for him. He’ll retire in a couple years and has been renting it out for the past 5 years. He’s recouped the purchase price and it’s value has almost doubled (even during covid). I have friends who have one in Tampa and it’s the same story. They don’t even own an RV. Lol! You made a VERY good choice!!!

Congratulations! Yes I'm behind on videos. Lol. Dealing with internet on the road is tuff. Lol. Jim and me have talked about eventually buying a lot somewhere. Just so it would help with our Domicile thing. We just bought a small package of the Thousand Trails Southeast Zone. Because we are staying on the East Coast this year due to my dad being 97 years old and not good health. We have only stayed at one Thousand Trails park so far. And we absolutely loved it and how some full-time RVers have their sites setup. We are looking into buy a used Thousand Trails membership that has everything that we want. We also got a Passport America membership gifted to us. We just are trying to cover all our bases as much as possible for Full-time RVing life. Campgrounds are getting expensive and hard to get into. We figured that the Thousand Trails membership will pay for itself in the long run. We are difently Glampers. Lol. But Abby requires baths every 2 to 3 days due to her yeast skin condition with a medicated shampoo. So we have to think of our doggies first before our needs. Plus as soon as we find a different RV that has a washer and dryer in it so we can get rid of this Grand Design nightmare. Which after my first video. Lippert came after me on Instagram. I struck a chord. Lol. But seriously congratulations to you both. We are looking into doing the same thing.

We love MRMCR. It is unfortunate you will miss meeting the amazing people who also own there and spend the winter season there. Of the places we have been, these owners are the most welcoming and friendly group we have met. The pickleball crowd is social and competitive all at the same time. We are looking at Naples because it fits our need for fine dining much closer to the property than Myakka since we like to eat our 3-4 days per week.

We were there all of October, and are just part time right now and in Colorado for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so renters will be there for awhile. We'll be going FT in the Spring. We are so excited to know we might be able to get to know you in the future! Everything you said was exactly true about MRMR and the Port Charlotte/SW FL area and were the very reasons we did what you have done. Yes, Planet Fitness super close, the Publix on Cochran is awesome and so many great restaurants, and so close to beaches. Yes, indeed, you made a great decision! Good for you! We did a very similar thing earlier this year, but a bit further north in Clermont. We are 3 or 4 years from retirement, but given the uptick in FL real estate prices, we decided to buy now. It was rented for the next two winters within a couple months of buying, and that rental will cover all the costs while we build equity. A big factor for us was to have a home base - we've heard too many horror stories from full timers with no place to go during COVID. Now we'll always have one. We'll probably go full time when we retire, but this will give us a winter place and a home base if/when we need it. Good luck!

I think u guys were smart doing what u did because it is getting harder to get RV lots at a fair price ...not to mention I'm not much of a planner so we only have to move if we want to, not too much stress about vacations. Unfortunately we do have a deck n landscaping so we can't leave for too long. I am retired but my husband works full-time in the rig.

You guys did very well. As long as the HOA rules are agreeable to you and the monthly fee is not too high you should be very happy. Good to plan ahead!

We’ve had a park model/ Arizona room in a park in Mesa Arizona for the past 20 years. We finally get to retire and spend extended periods of time down there. Have never regretted it for a minute. You can always rent it out and property values do not go down especially with a huge baby boom population. Plus side of our place versus a home is there is minimal maintenance.

Congrats!! We’re from South west Pa. and that’s our plan to be snow birds. We’re about 12 years away from that but my brother just bought a house north of Orlando and he said real estate is blowing up down there, so for us if all else fails at least we will have a place to moochdock! Lol…….

Congratulations on your new RV site! I’m in South Jersey and I wish I could get out. We have been sessional camping in Seaville, NJ since 1979. Had dreamed of being a snow bird but unfortunately the universe had other plans! I think you did the right thing while you are still young!

Congrats on what I think will be a great investment.
Fla is great place, with lots to do and see.
But we are more into the wild west type typen of land scape, so we are looking in Az, NM, TX, areas.
Wish you all the best in this venture....and we are right behind you. I can retire in 5 years.
