Yeah he lit that fuse. The accusations were there but the right ears heard it when it was joked about by Hannibal. Folks did Michael Jackson the same way. To this day folks still thinks he did something he was never convicted of. Accusations were floating around about Cosby but with no convictions or accusations from actual women, no actions could be taken to find out any truths behind the claims. Their were talks that Cosby wanted to buy NBC so that could have literally been rumors spread around by certain rich folks who wouldn’t have wanted that to happen if true.
Man, that would have been dope. That's what i was pissed about when this whole shit happened. That Robert Townsend didn't get his flowers for that special, it was anticipated for folk who follow and knew about it.
I'll say this. A lot of these guys work in the same circle and they're either down with you or not like a popularity contest. I see some of these guys and girls out a lot in the NY. They protect their own. The truth doesn't even matter, it's what's popular. Chris Rock is good friends with Louis CK. When all of Louis CK sexual harassment accusers came out Chris still took Louis CK side. No jokes about Louis CK in his latest special. But then he brings up a BS accusation about Michael Jackson even though Jacksons 4 accusers have all been discredited. Hannibal hangs with plenty of comics who have sexual harassment charges against them, guys from the comedy scene, SNL, etc. They all protect their own. There are black comics who don't do the black rooms, they feel it isn't their style, audience etc. I could drop names, there's a few who are getting famous that years ago rolled their eyes about doing the black rooms and calling out other black comics as hacks. I'm not necessarily taking up for Cosby - he made his own bed, but it's low hanging fruit. Alot of them influenced by their white peers, white media social circles etc and they roll with that tide so that they get their props in Vanity Fair, the BBC, Oprah or whoever else pats them on the back.
Can you drop some names if you don't mind? I can't really think of any blacks comics who are getting famous. except Jerrod Carmicheal. The mainstream society loves him especially since his last special. Other than him, it's like all the white comics getting shine as usual.
@@marcusjones1110 a lot of these peeps are on here. I don't want to drop any names. Besides, even if you drop facts it'll get pushed to the bottom anyway. Its just that you don't know what to believe or what's being fabricated and what's being exposed and hushed. My cousin worked with tabloids and news outlets in the 90's and parts of the 2000's. She also worked with independent journalist, reporters and such. She said it was so easy to spread lies, they would pay people to make things up or pay people to tarnish reputations, the facts didn't matter, just what makes them the most money. This was before blogs, twitter, etc which it's even easier now. Same thing happens in politics happens in the entertainment world. And the point is it's main motive is financial. That writer, editor or whoever that writes a scandalous article about some big entertainer - they didn't do much research except for what was fed to them by an unverified source and it snowballs. And they do it because it's profitable. So then you have your entertainers shying away from this artist for fear that it'll blackball their career or reputation especially if that artist career starts to tank. But yet those same entertainers are riding the wave of another entertainer with well known drama...because his/her career is still on the rise and no one is making a big deal out of the issue - yet. I could speak way more on this, my cousin told me things that I knew but other things that made me shake my head in anger.
His move was proven to be an off code castarophe and the backlash he recieved was well deserved. He disappeared because he was invisible to most Black comedy fans before he spoke those lies to begin with. He's an off code version of Wayne Brady, which means he mostly appealed to non-Black people and since *WE* are the people who make and break these guys we've decided to break him...

@@marclewis102 Read the transcripts. They are free. No information has been hidden. It's always been a lynching many black people were happy to take part in.
Although Hannibal Buress didn't fall off, he's put out special since then. And he's been acting so I've seen him in more movies. Including ever-increasing screentime in the MCU Spider-Man movies. And while, he might not be a main character, he still has been involved in one of the biggest grossing movies to date
💯 I was just about to say that. He's been in 19 movies since he spoke on Cosby in 2014. That's a lot of work. He's gotten more airtime since, not less.
Comedy Hype is a joke pun intended. Never take what they say seriously. They put out a lot of incorrect information. They have the most uninformed lack of educated people. Smh.
My problem with Hannibal is he told the joke as if it were a fact before we got all the details of the allegations. Hannibal had nothing other than 'accusation' information and used that to call Bill a rapist. That to me is dangerous. RKelly is the only celebrity who we truly know did the things he did. I still don't know what to think about the Cosby allegations. I know his lawyer basically said that he did not get a fair trial, that part I believe. But Hannibal didn't disappear. I think IMO his comedy got more stale and that early day success of being a new guy with a different angle to his style is what catapulted him so fast but then it became stale. He blew up in the predominantly white Chicago alt scene.
To this day I don't understand why that dialogue from Burress about Cosby doesn't qualify as defamation of character. There were no formal charges at that point and was just an allegation. Why can't Cosby sue?
@@QNPMEDIA Doesn't matter if Cosby said it in a book. If he was not formally charged with committing a crime, I don't think you can just pick up a microphone and publicly announce that he is assaulting women. Defamation.

The media is selling us their financially motivated accusations over the fact that the FBI, Sheriffs, police, court documents, agencies and witnesses couldn't find a thing to substantiate any, not a single allegation. @@inigo9000 #peace I read your reply but can you bullet-point everything from a polysemic-view per attention-to-detail that I can independently-research with references that show his guilt?
He didn't necessarily lie, but he did spread unfounded rumors. Also Bill's lawyers found out that HB was paid to tell that joke by outside entities. Till this day there's no actual evidence that Bill did anything other than giving a woman over the counter Benadryl. The same woman went on at least 19 more dates after the alleged sexual assault.

Buress allowed himself to be manipulated against Cosby. This is a problem with our community. So many, too many people more upset with Hannibal Buress over the joke about Bill Cosby's actions than you are actually upset with Bill Cosby for assaulting women. No scratch that, y'all more upset Hannibal Buress said something and now we couldn't bury our heads in the sand anymore. Because Bill Cosby made a joke about this in 1969. And Bill Cosby wrote about in his book in the 80s. We ignored that and it finally people said look we're going to keep ignoring it and you're like oh f*** Hannibal Buress then.
@Brandy you don't know what your talking about. Cosby never said he raped anyone in his comedy. He had a famous joke about the Spanish fly. The Spanish fly was simply a myth back in the day was suppose to make a women real.horny. that's all. It had nothing to do with drugging a person unconscious and raping them. You are an example of what's wrong with our people. Who just listen to what agenda white folks want us to believe
I never heard one credible woman. Rumor, innuendo doesn't make it fact. Hard to believe that ALL of those women were "too afraid" to come forward until Constand? Women came for Bill Clinton and Don Trump hell women tried to come for MJ back in the day. I'm sure Cosby wasn't the only one talking about Spanish fly 50 years ago. 🤨 Didn't Jerry Lee Lewis marry his teenage cousin back in the day. Times have changed.
No. The problem is that he so easily shitted on another black man, despite there being no proof of guilt and proof of false allegations. At that point, multiple victims were proven liars. What happened to them? Nothing. He didn't abuse those women. They wanted the drugs, their lives didn't pan out how they thought it would, and they were getting revenge for being side chicks. It's no different than the regret most porn actresses have post-wall. Notice. Few of those women were married or in a serious committed relationship because nobody wanted them, and the trials uncovered their questionable lives. He once joked about his secret BBQ sauce...the joke hasn't aged well but "love potions" have been a thing for thousands of years. In modern times, we call it "Viagra, Cialis, Levetra, etc.'
Nah, he didn't disappeared. He released a couple of great comedy specials and had stand-up gigs at some big festivals. The guy does what he likes and enjoys a low-key lifestyle
Yeah, many including me, never felt Burress was ever funny enough to get all those gigs and roles,. The industry against Cosby, I beleive provided him those opportunities. He is a decent comic, not one who should be headline anything. He was too akward and always looked out of place in whatever he starred in. There are better comedic actors on tv that are funnier than him.
@@c1979h Well, imo his awkwardness was part of his comedy. The contrast between the good jokes and his weird vibe was pretty interesting. I'm not a person for censoring comics, but I honestly find that a lot of jokes are not funny. A lot of times when they joke about things like some of these accusations, I find it unnecessary. No solid proof has ever come out on Cosby and a lot of the accused came from a time when a lot of people were doing a lot of weird stuff. In some ways a lot of people have helped spread misinformation. A lot of people believe Cosby admitted to the accusations. He actually didn't. What he admitted was that back in the day they used drugs when they had sex. I can understand joking after the fact, but some of comedians cause almost as much damage as these unresearched documentaries.

He didn't disappear, he never rated! He's one of the most unfunny comedians I've ever seen.
The same reason they pretend that all those accusations came out of nowhere. Folks are disgusting and don’t care.

FACTS!!
BIG FACTS!!!! YOU DESERVE THIS🏆 YOU SAID WHAT REAL PPL BEEN SAYING TEE WHITE
Can you drop some names if you don't mind? I can't really think of any blacks comics who are getting famous. except Jerrod Carmicheal. The mainstream society loves him especially since his last special. Other than him, it's like all the white comics getting shine as usual.
Hard facts.

It's off code to call out an abuser now?
Whoa there rapist sympathizer, bill Cosby was interviewed in on news program show giving step by step on how to drug and rape a woman.

@@judah-je1jm but I mean, Cosby did that shit though lol Hannibal wouldn't have had anything to say if Cosby wasn't like a rapist or whatever.
He made a joke about something that had been known and spoken about in the industry for decades. Cosby is not innocent
To this day I don't understand why that dialogue from Burress about Cosby doesn't qualify as defamation of character. There were no formal charges at that point and was just an allegation. Why can't Cosby sue?

The media is selling us their financially motivated accusations over the fact that the FBI, Sheriffs, police, court documents, agencies and witnesses couldn't find a thing to substantiate any, not a single allegation. And yet we buy into it.

Disappeared? That was his coming out. No one knew him before that.

Yeah, many including me, never felt Burress was ever funny enough to get all those gigs and roles,. The industry against Cosby, I beleive provided him those opportunities. There are better comedic actors on tv that are funnier than him.
@@c1979h Well, imo his awkwardness was part of his comedy. The contrast between the good jokes and his weird vibe was pretty interesting. Regarding tv, he was great in the eric andre show, but idk in what else he played.

you do not build yourself up by tearing someone else down. that's a level of "blood money" i never want in my pocket. and it was not really worth it in the end.
He wasn't funny Bill Cosby was his claim to fame
