High Sierra is the newest MacOS you can run on your 2011 mac natively. You could use a patch tool to get Mojave or Catalina but even then it would run slower since it's not optimized for 2011 macs and you won't have GPU acceleration since the AMD GPU's aren't metal capable. Better to stick with El Capitan, Sierra or High Sierra if I were you.

were all tests done with the same macbook? I have a Macbook lion 2011 with the requirements "Core 2 duo / memory of 4GB DDR2" will be that runs good catalina? and I also wanted to make an improvement on it, putting an ssd or something that makes it better. I know there is not much to do with these macbooks, but I had a notbook that could improve it, like "processor / hd and ssd / cooler / font etc ..." already send ola to brazil, i'm looking for some daora system to put in it. how to install catalina or sierra : i'm using google translator, i can't speak english 100% KKK so i use google translator :
High Sierra is the newest MacOS you can run on your 2011 mac natively. You could use a patch tool to get Mojave or Catalina but even then it would run slower since it's not optimized for 2011 macs and you won't have GPU acceleration since the AMD GPU's aren't metal capable. Better to stick with El Capitan, Sierra or High Sierra if I were you.
Me having macos Lion for years....
Maël08 lol same
What laptop do you have?

This is great, thank you. Overall - what would i be missing for working with Sierra? Is it huge difference in terms of support?
I'm working with a Macbook Pro 13 mid 2012 with Sierra (SSD Hyperx Fury 240gb + 16gb ram) and the only problem that i'm currently having is that some apps are not available for 10.12, as geekbench for example. Overall, performance is well but i'm considering High Sierra now.
@@romigoletto i have Intel HD 4000 and GT 630M Do you think it warms up or hangs?
Go to high Sierra
i think they does not really change the core of OSX for last few years.
What about adding Big Sur on a new test?
Dunno about the performance tests, but boot time would be slower. At least it was 5-8 seconds slower on my old 2012 and 2014 MBP's compared to Catalina and even more compared to Sierra, El Capitan or Mavericks.
can you do a mac os X vs monterey benchmark? jk lol thanks for taking the time to make this. very helpful

@@thatOne873 Me too. I love again my Macbook
Time Machine.

hi, i will buy a MacBook Pro 2012 13“mid soon. I will upgrade it with 16 GB and a better SSD (Samsung) and the battery. It's also my first MacBook so I don't know my way around. Which MacOS system should I use, will just be browsing insta and watching RUclips / Netflix. Also a few school activities Word, ... Thanks in advance
Hello! I've been using a Macbook Pro 13 mid 2012 with Sierra (SSD Hyperx Fury 240gb + 16gb ram) since 2017 and it performs really well. I use this device to work on creative projects (mostly Adobe) that demands highly. The only issue that now i'm having is that some apps are not available for 10.12. So, i'm researching if High Sierra could negatively affect the performance of this old laptop. Which OS are you using?
@@romigoletto I have the same machine and I am still running Mavericks. I am looking to update however because a few programms are now out of support and I always have to use the web versions of things... Did you try high sierra?
Tnx buddy ❤️
I have Early 2015 Macbook Air, 4 GB one.
Currently using Sierra, battery life is great.
But everynow and then I face some apps which are not compatible.
Do you think I should upgrade to High Sierra.
Battery performance is something I really want
thanks
I'm not sure if the update will bring any improvements. I can only advise you to think about buying air with m1.
Did you upgrade to High Sierra?

high sierra for u best choice. if will 2017-2019 mojave i will say
Catalina?
