so actually, my family has something called "Family Reunion" every year where 100+ relatives from all over the world show up and go camping together. this boiled omelet is a quick and easy way to feed a bunch of people a good egg breakfast exactly the way they want it without a huge amount of work or fuss. its also good for line cooks feeding military or schools where you can have each person fill a bag with ingredients put in a couple of eggs at the end and then name it and throw it in a pot of boiling water and itll be ready in a couple of minutes. i loved this method of cooking eggs especially for large groups. and before you bash the plastic bags, there are slow cooking bags that are plastic that saves you on cleaning your crock pot or slow cooker so there must be safe plastics that you can use.

As someone who likes making fancy food but has worked in diners and buffets, I tend to talk about three types of omelettes: the French omelet and the diner omelette like you mentioned, and what I call the buffet omelette, which is when you have a bunch of pans in front of you on super-high flame, toss some butter and fillings in for a quick high-temperature saute, pour in the eggs, cook until half-set, flip the whole thing, add cheese if desired, fold, flip one more time to keep the halves even, and serve. The texture and flavor is more like a fritatta, but it's shaped like the home-version of a diner omelette (you know, that classic semicircle, where a flat-top diner omelette is usually a roll), and it's _super_ fast. I could probably pump out one per minute of those with four or five pans. Incidentally, when I want a super-lazy omelette or to get a half-dozen people eating at the same time with only one or two pans, that's my usual go-to method, but part of the beauty of omelet(tte)s is that they take longer to eat than to cook, so I'm more likely to go diner-style and just sit down to eat my own while the first person is halfway done.
As for Jack's... Unsalted (eggs need salt! and they don't _need_ black pepper, but it's also never a bad thing), half-cooked steamed vegetables, warmed-up ham with no browning, half-mixed, over-cooked, and steamed. (At least the cheese is probably melted.) Also, why leave air in and burp the bags instead of getting most of the air out in the first place? Seven-to-fifteen minutes (I haven't worked in a kitchen in over a _decade_ and I could probably still do two or three from opening the fridge to serving in fifteen minutes)... How is this lazy or omelette? I know you mentioned fritatta, and filling-wise that's probably right, but I think the texture is probably more like a gyeran-jjim someone left cooking for two or three times as long as it should.
I absolutely agree with Frenchie that lazy people are more effecient... To a point, at least. We've all worked with that guy who's so lazy he doesn't actually do any work, of course. But, I'm pretty lazy myself, and I think everyone thinks I'm a super-hard worker because I spend so much time organizing and putting away and jump right on a job when it comes in, when in reality I want everything I need exactly where I expect it to be so I don't have to go looking and opening new packages in the middle of a job, and to get the job done so I can go back to goofing off!

I will say as an Eagle Scout, we did this a lot on our Camping trips except we didn't call them omelets. We made them and then threw them in tortillas and called them Scoutmaster's burritos. We did prebeat the eggs though and had seasonings but it was a staple of ours.
Ours came out more consistent but I think it's the fact that he called it an Omelet that I don't agree with.

I would put my omelette ingredients in the container, beat/season one egg in each container then microwave for about 1min to 1:30. Repeat about 3-4 times. Take it out of the container sprinkle with cheese and microwave another 30seconds. This would take about 5 minutes plus cleanup cause I would buy precut ingredients lol.
