Dr. Scott…I’m so grateful that you came back & decided to do this kind of channel. Animal rescue is a subject that is talked about so little & solutions to the problem even more. You are fulfilling a great need, not only in the UK, but all over the world. Thank you so very much for your work in this much neglected area of animal care.
Merry Christmas to you & your family & the people who help keep this channel running. Also, have a very Happy & Safe New Year.
    🎄🐈🦮🥳❤

For USA, Dumb Friends League in Colorado offers a behavior help line. You make an appt. and then have a phone call discussion with a trained behaviorist. I've used this service for advice with a difficult rescue dog. It's free, and not just for CO residents (I live in OR).

So heartbreaking and shocking the numbers on the waiting lists are so high 😢. The rescue centres and volunteers always do such a wonderful job to help and support as many animals as best they can 👏🏻🧡. It’s helpful to know this kind of support is available all year round given the current economic situation

I took in a cat that needed to be rehomed from a national charity. Unfortunately, the previous owner withheld that the cat was not good with children and when the cat came to live with us she kept attacking my 5 year old! This continued for 2 years and we tried everything, took behavioural advice, nothing worked. We made the very difficult and sad decision to hand the cat back to the charity. Absolutely broke my heart and my child's. We loved our then cat but she was so unhappy, our home was not right for her at all. It turned out she needed to be in a household with no children - just one person who could lavish affection on her. If you're rehoming your pet please don't lie about why you're saying they can't live with you anymore. You're just heaping heartbreak onto the next people. Happily a few years later we rescued the cat we have now and it's all worked out. It didn't put me off thankfully :)

Got a lovely rescue girl three weeks ago, on trial in case the older dog wouldn’t accept her. Luckily all worked out. She’d never lived in a house, a year in a shelter. Learning to pee outside, fortunately she’s very smart. Never had chicken, didn’t know what an egg was, etc, now enjoying a wonderful life.

Thank you so much for talking about this Dr. Scott, the stigma around having to rehome a pet needs to be broken and this video will definitely help with that. People need to know there is options and no shame in asking for help. So yeh big thank you and lets all help out when ever we can ❤ Happy December 🎄

Hi doctor scot . I rehomed 2 kittens that was thrown into a hedge in a pillow case with 4 litter mates. They were twins monster and elmo. When elmo was 1 , she was stolen and then last year monster was attacked by a dog or a fox . I was very devastated.

Hi Dr Scott, I hope everything is going well for you.
I'm hoping for some reassurance tbh.
I was owned by a male Citron Crested Cockatoo a while back, and I tried everything with him, but I just wasn't the right human.
He was a rescue, age unknown, and I'm experienced with rescue animals, ( around 35 years), and I was possibly his 7th home. His behaviour became increasingly sexual, with hormonal aggression, to the point where I was regularly ending up in casualty. This escalated, despite correct petting and distraction etc, to the point where he flew at my face and actually mated.
I was very lucky, in that I didn't get injured.
He was then rehomed to a wonderful, and more experienced parrot lady, where he is very happy.
Please tell me that I did the right thing? I miss him, but I simply need a professional viewpoint.
    Thankyou for reading.
    Happy Yule.

It’s a very big shame that helping keep your pet in your home because of vet care or food. That’s amazing. UK you’re an amazing country when it comes to pets. Too many pets are euthanized because of overcrowding 😭
