if you think about it pam and jim hate on dwight for no real reason and michael uses him..its hard to hate on him...he would be nice to them if they did not abuse him..he does not even need this job due to his farm and his ability to get another paper sales type job as he shows he can ... he does it cause he cares about the people he works with that much and without him the company would collapse imo...he is the best salesmen ...he legit is the foundation of the branch..when jim left and when cruddy ryan was on the phones they were fine and even in a paper less world and avoiding downsizing despite too many employees and constant legal issues, dwight kept them running years after they should of closed down...
I love this scene so much and I love their friendship. Dwight could be a total douche almost all the time, but when it comes down to it, he'll have Pam's back no matter what. The "who did this to you? Where is he?" line is so great. He was ready to throw down on whoever messed with his friend
I always viewed the moment when Dwight removes his jacket and then wraps it around his waist as him ABOUT to offer Pam his coat to comfort her. Before he could, he stopped himself and wrapped it around himself instead because he knew he shouldn’t because he knows he’s purely Pam’s friend and didn’t want to confuse it at all for a romantic gesture because of a secret respect for her and Jim. I might be wrong, but that’s how I see it.
Dwight drove me nuts for much of the show, but in this moment, there is zero hesitation in his concern for Pam. It's not, "What's wrong?" or "Why are you crying?" it's "Who did this to you?" No consolement, straight to vengeance.
Most of the relationships on the office were understated and Dwight and Pam's was my favorite really. Especially when he made her the "secret assistant to the regional manager".
He was one of my favorites from the beginning. This scene went down as one of my top five favorites. His immediate reaction to protect her and restore/defend her honor “who did this to you”. Good man
I love how between Pam Dwight and Jim they all sort of cared for eachother although many times Pam and Jim would prank dwight they all looked out for eachother like the time Andy asked for tip on how to ask out Angela Pam didnt want to give him any to not hurt Dwight and later Jim went to comfort Dwight

What’s so great about this is how understanding and empathetic he is being until the last second when he says “so I guess you’re pmsing pretty bad huh?” Showing he didn’t understand at all, but he was sweet and protective and this scene is frickin hilarious and touching.
This is one of the reasons I could never dislike Dwight. He did have his moments of good intention
