What a wonderful violin concerto this is. The soloist is given the centre stage, as it should be. Nielsen's other two concertos are more difficult for the listener which is why I'm at a loss to understand why this isn't performed more often. Vera Panitch has a wonderful understanding of this work and it shows in her exemplary performance of it.
I humbly present the 3rd movement of my Piano Concerto No 2, a boisterous jaunt through a fugue, then a gigue, slows down to an arabesque type dance, then becomes an all-out romp. Hope to lift your Autumn spirits! ruclips.net/video/hkrpFBQdxjw/видео.html Thanks!
Sadly, you don't understand this piece. I suggest you listen to it a few more times (preferably with the score), then your thumbs down will reverse to thumbs up. 😊😊
@@mauriciowilson8829 Ok. Sadly the nearest this composer came to writing an oboe concerto was one each for the flute & clarinet. They might be worth checking out.
@@mauriciowilson8829 Your question is difficult to answer for many reasons. 1. De Sarasate was Spanish & Nielsen was Danish so their composition styles are completely different. 2. De Sarasate (1844-1908) wrote Aires Gitanos in 1877, Nielson's (1865-1931) Violin Concerto was written 34 years later in 1911 - music had advanced rapidly in those 30 years. 3. Both were trained violinists, but De Saraste was known more for performing than he was composing and Nielsen was the reverse of that. So my answer is that I wouldn't choose between the two works in the first place as they are as different as chalk is to cheese.
