im so happy jimmy finally found this, its one of my favorite animatics and every time i watch it i always find some new detail. For example, you can see in ethos eyes during the fishing rod scene a flashback to when he did the same thing to scar in last life.
I’ve rewatched that specific animatic over 80 times, and memorized the song, I love this animatic so much and it was hilarious seeing Jimmy’s reactions to the flashbacks!

I know this comment is a year old but that is exactly how I explained it in a different video- this animatic looks how it feels like to watch the series. The emotions are already there! This is what we experience when we watch it!
Im fucking crying the shots with Scar and Grian, pearl and Scott and I think Cleo and Martin the way their soul bond is wrapped around one’s throat, like it’s trapped them and it’s around the other’s finger, trying to lead them to someone who doesn’t want them, while everyone else has it in their heart. These sorts of shots are all I want in life
And the way it symbolises how they feel trapped. And with Grian and BigB being heart-to-heart with a purple string, a completely different colour to the life levels, symbolising how they're connected through choice and not "duty"
For me, double life is a silly, funny, goofy series of friends making alliances and betraying each other. But all the animatics and fan art I’ve seen makes it feel like it was real, like a tv series, with genuine betrayals, heartbreaks and special moments. This is truly one of the most amazing things I’ve seen on RUclips. Feels like a better version of Indian or K-pop drama.
What I think makes the animatics is...removing the Real life Aspect to create a narrative of people who would react to this as their life. No one falls to their death laughing if it was actually happening. Removing the RL is what gives depth to the characters and their arc throughout the story. It's fascinating and really enjoyable bc if you think about it in that manner, the series is a really dark SMP. While minecraft doesn't leave 'bodies' of fallen players, the animatics shows the darkness of what it could have been....
9:20 This is one of the reasons I love this animation in particular. Jimmy falling, Grian getting Shrieked and Jimmy with the enderman, I feel as though deaths like those are widely received as the less important deaths. Like "yes its sad but lets continue with the story", but they were still mega important because they changed everything for them and their soulmates. just like every single other death in the series. Thanks for reacting to these Jimmy! I'm so glad fan works are being seen by so many people and getting the recognition they deserve.

We watch the life series as a family. We even started having everyone pick who the last life will be and the winner gets a prize. Love those series! Can’t wait for the next. And it is super dramatic. I remember screaming at the screen when Scar did his water bucket clutch or when ren’s army invaded grian and scars area in 3rd life when all the TNT exploded. It’s been a blast.

This is literally my favorite Double Life animatic❤️ I found it through Martyn’s stream clip and I haven’t stopped watching it on repeat! It’s just so freaking good and it really shows everything that happened!!❤❤ I get chills from the first notes every time! Me too, the first time I watched it I had only seen Scott and Timmy's povs and I was confused by BigB and Grian so I had to go back and watch Grian but the first time seeing this animatic was the best time. I wish every rewatch could give me the same chills as the first time but it's so good regardless.

I love the comment about artists letting you see the emotions in everyday experiences. It’s why I love writers and visual artists so much; you can’t live that way all the time or you explode, but sometimes it’s worth seeing things through that lens, and these animatics are a great example
i had the biggest chills of my life watching this. the emotion, the art, the music. Everything about this video was a perfect encapsulation of double life but with even more raw emotion.
I love the detail of the heart strings being around the necks of those who wanted another love/partner while their actual partners have it somewhere else ie: fingers, such a beautiful detail. This whole animatic was amazing, so beautiful and the art style is *gorgeous* I especially love Pearl’s shots!

I love watching different things over multiple rewatches on these things. This was a favorite of mine. I love the foreshadowing and song up of Pearl if you look for her and watch her facial expressions throughout.

Double life was my favorite of the life series so far, this animation was so emotional and incredible, especially with the last scene with Scott holding Cleo as he blew up.
3rd Life and Last Life were both amazing, but Double Life made me cry tears. It had such good plot lines and great character development. My favourite story though was definitely 5am-unhinged Pearl with an iconic ending. Tilly death do us apart….

Honestly what brings out such strong animations in a fandom is typically when the artists find the soul in the work Don’t even limit yourself to MCYT, look outside, you’ll see it too, especially with larger or longer lasting fandoms, Creatives have found a soul in something, and mixed it with their interpretations for all to see. it’s honestly just,, so fun to see whenever it happens to such extent
This is going to sound super corny, but honestly, the life series all mean so much to me, I find it kind of difficult to get emotionally attached to fictional storylines, but the life series bring out every emotion in me, joy, panic, sorrow, and I love it, I quite honestly don't know that I would have found and stuck to Empires if not for these series, and the animatics just make them even greater, honestly some of my favorite videos on RUclips, can't wait for Season 4!

It's really cool that while the Hermits and Empires people are making their own stories, others can see it in a new light and create a similar and more intense story with a new spin on it.
Not sure if it’s supposed to be obvious but in the scene where it shoes all the silhouettes of them it shows there relationships if you both had ful bonds conected by the heart you too were close if it was tied around the finger you were pulling your partner with you and if it was tied around somthing like your neck you wanted to be with another parter like but were stuck with somone else and if it was severed that was a freindship left behind
I loved this animation so much I watched it a couple of days after it came out and I’m so glad Jimmy reacted to it he was giving it all the claps and props it deserved I seriously loved all the flashbacks so much and Grian even commented on the video saying that this is one of the things that keeps him going with the life seriesAny amount of emotion put into these is insane there was so many little hints and amazing details in the animation and just so much emotion that it was amazing to watch again and ever and even made to last life animatics cause it was too hard to fit on the one also the amount of dedication put into it is insane all the details and the fact that you’d probably have to watch close to everyone’s videos so that you would know what was happening on everyone’s side and drawing that too it’s bonkers I think Jimmy and Everen both deserve some subs for this one please go and do that they both need more respect for Jimmy reacting to this and Everen for making it amazing i’m also glad that I got to hear this version of running up that hill because otherwise I never would’ve found the cover by Cami cat overall everything was so amazing in this

Jim, I think you are selling yourself short. In every series I've watched you in, especially the Life series you amplify the emotions of everyone around you. Although you did due first a lot, things usually went insane afterwards. The amount of energy and passion you put into everything rubs off on them. Example being when the ranch burned down and Tango totally lost it because of how much it meant to the two of you. Personally speaking you are my favorite member of the series, and the glue that keeps a majority of the server from ripping each other to pieces. Unfortunately they do rip you to pieces from time to time though.

This is going to sound super corny, but honestly, the life series all mean so much to me, I find it kind of difficult to get emotionally attached to fictional storylines, but the life series bring out every emotion in me, joy, panic, sorrow, and I love it, I quite honestly don't know that I would have found and stuck to Empires if not for these series, and the animatics just make them even greater, honestly some of my favorite videos on RUclips, can't wait for Season 4!

Not sure if it’s supposed to be obvious but in the scene where it shoes all the silhouettes of them it shows there relationships if you both had ful bonds conected by the heart you too were close if it was tied around the finger you were pulling your partner with you and if it was tied around somthing like your neck you wanted to be with another parter like but were stuck with somone else and if it was severed that was a freindship left behind
I loved this animation so much I watched it a couple of days after it came out and I’m so glad Jimmy reacted to it he was giving it all the claps and props it deserved I seriously loved all the flashbacks so much and Grian even commented on the video saying that this is one of the things that keeps him going with the life seriesAny amount of emotion put into these is insane there was so many little hints and amazing details in the animation and just so much emotion that it was amazing to watch again and ever and even made to last life animatics cause it was too hard to fit on the one also the amount of dedication put into it is insane all the details and the fact that you’d probably have to watch close to everyone’s videos so that you would know what was happening on everyone’s side and drawing that too it’s bonkers I think Jimmy and Everen both deserve some subs for this one please go and do that they both need more respect for Jimmy reacting to this and Everen for making it amazing i’m also glad that I got to hear this version of running up that hill because otherwise I never would’ve found the cover by Cami cat overall everything was so amazing in this

Jim, I think you are selling yourself short. In every series I've watched you in, especially the Life series you amplify the emotions of everyone around you. Although you did due first a lot, things usually went insane afterwards. The amount of energy and passion you put into everything rubs off on them. Example being when the ranch burned down and Tango totally lost it because of how much it meant to the two of you. Personally speaking you are my favorite member of the series, and the glue that keeps a majority of the server from ripping each other to pieces. Unfortunately they do rip you to pieces from time to time though.

I think Double Life was the best life series ever. Scar's insane waterbucket clutch. I think that was the first time i think i have ever seen Tango at a loss of words. and that final battle with Cleo vs 5 am Pearl. no one expected that.
