At 16 or 17 - When I first saw & heard The Frost “Live” - I had never heard such tight 3 part harmony b4 - Such Blistering Clean Fast Guitar Pickin - That was 1969/70 @ Schamally’s Dancing Domes in Mt Clemens Michigan - Who else Remembers that place & This Great Band? - John Gressman- Dale Inman - Mike Samartino - Margaret Giardino - Ron Baker - Larry Malinowski?…
I always had on WABX, went to the studio one evening, it was nothing much except a turn table and a small mixer. I just stared in amazement that the DJ (I forget his name) let me in for an hour while he spun the tunes. I worked at Farmer Jacks Supermarket on the night crew and had WABX on the PA all night long, There will never be another!
A station like no other, never... ever... free form...I have not listened to radio recently for ages... Oh those old DJ's love or hate them...Jerry Lubin, Dennis Frawley, Dan Carlisle. John O’Leary, Dave Dixon
Actually, a local Alpena Michigan Band, I use to sneak into Club 32 to see them play. My Uncle was in a local Alpena band that opened up for the Bossmen a few times at local gigs in town, the Bossmen became the Frost.
I was at The Grande Ballroom when this was recorded. They were one of the best bands to come out of the area. Dick Wagner was not only a great guitar player but one of the nicest people you'd ever meet. Talked music with him a few times. He will be greatly missed.
I just had a deja vu, I can not remember when or where I heard this, I think my stepbro had this album, I may have heard it on CJOM or WABX my god, I got goose lake bumps all over, I have not heard this in 45 years but I Remember every lyric, harmony, from the first words to the end.....
