Detroit music was the absolute best ... The Frost was probably the best of music scene - Dick Wagner was tremendous. Being able to be part of it ... to go to the Grande, the Palladium, Cobo, Ford, and even to watch these bands play at my High School was great. What a great time. What great music.

The Epitome of DETROIT ROCK N ROLL! At the time. They were up there with Seger and Savage Grace. Yeah the bass is distorted, but that's LIVE Rock. They didn't have 32 track recorders back then, and this was "LIVE" live. Not overdubbed later in the studio like KISS. Feel the Energy. BLUE COLLAR ROCK!

Savage Grace very underrated. Al Jacquez Vocalist still plays in the Detroit Metro area. He sounds better than ever. Saw him a couple of weeks ago at the Trinity House in Livonia. He did a Show with Drew Abbott (from the Silver Bullet Band)

I was there when this was recorded... The Grande was the greatest Rock N Roll hall in Michigan.... It was Beautiful with a big main floor and columns around the main floor and walking area around that...

I saw the Frost many times back then, they were always my favorite local band, also was lucky to see Dick and company play when he would come back to Michigan in the years before he passed. I never caught their act at the Grande, but would see them every time they played at Silverbell and other area haunts, good times for sure.

They played at my high school in Windsor and the Stooges another night. All the Detroit bands played Windsor:))) Did you see the Amboy Dukes free WABX concert on the steps of the Detroit library by chance?

THE FROST - We Got To Get Out Of This Place (lyrics)
In this dirty old part of the city
Where the sun refused to shine
People tell me there ain't no use in tryin'
Now my girl, you're so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true
You'll be dead before your time is due
Watch my daddy in bed a-dyin'
Watched his hair been turnin' grey
He's been workin' and slavin' his life away, Alright
    (work) He's been
    (work) He's been
    (work)
    work, work, work, work,
We gotta get out of this place
If it's the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
Cause girl, there's a better life for me and you.

Orchestra pit? There was no orchestra pit at the Grande. It was all floor seating all the way up to the stage.

I was at this show, amazing band. One of the best, if not the best, bands of the Grande era. Of all the bands that played the Grande the Frost was right at the top of the best, bar none.

I was there!!! OMGosh we must have seen The Frost a hundred times and opened for them many times! They were way ahead of their time. They were "The Beatles of Michigan". The combined vocal harmonies of Dick Wagner, Gordy Garris and Donny Hartman left me (and the audience) breathless! Bobby Riggs always the supreme drummer! Their presence, professionalism, musicianship and drive was top notch! This is why I am a singer, a songwriter and a musician to this day!

Laurie, I couldn't agree more, the Frost played from the heart and everyone knew it.

Too bad they played it too damned fast. The bass should not have been over driven. It sounds like they were all on speed, they butchered a great song. It's very poor rendition of Blue Oyster Cult's version.

just maybe, since the frost did it before boc...I think eric burdon did it first, ….maybe boc did a poor rendition of the frost?

Having seen them close their show with this a couple times, have to disagree. And the lyrics for kids working in steel mills and auto factories rang true to us
